Free minifigs with kids' mix at Odeon Cinemas

Posted by ,

Here's how to get the two TLM minifig polybags in the UK: buy a kids' mix at Odeon cinemas. Thanks to David for the news and BrickFanatics for the image, who go on to say "we’ve checked with the Odeon who have confirmed you don’t have to be seeing the film or any film for that matter in order to buy a Kids Mix meal, so you’ll be able to pop along to your local Odeon chain buy two meals and get both minifigures."

They don't say whether you have to be a kid, though, do they... I'll be at my local Odeon tomorrow evening with my wife, to watch TLM of course, so I'll see if can grab some. I hope she likes Fruit Shoot and popcorn :-)

Those look like cool figs; I would love to have that robot. It's too bad there aren't any Odeon cinemas in the US...

Wait a sec! I thought that The Lego Movie was scheduled to be released on the 14th?? This is great news if it's out early! :D

@SuperDKong They're available through US Chain theater rewards programs this weekend (Feb 7-9)- AMC Stubs members get the DJ Robot and Regal Crown Club members get Pajamas Emmet. I just went to the box office and asked for one, and the worker gave me two :)

Just found this on the Odeon website, much better value with a minifig as well!

'kids get a Snack, Drink and Kids popcorn from just £3.25'

@Huw - my family and I just got back from the first showing and it was wonderful. I'm not sure if the little one preferred the movie or the popcorn, candy or ice cream, though. :o) I'm confident you're going to love it.

@yellowcastle

My daughter is only two and a half but loves Lego. She saw her first movie at Christmas and loved it (Frozen). Do you have any idea whether this movie would be a little too old for her? I'd really love to take her but really don't want to have to leave half way through.

It really depends on the child, I think. It's 90 minutes and very vibrant with lots of exciting scenes. My 2 3/4 yo son only flinched once, at the most mundane of scenes. Otherwise, he was actively watching (and eating) and was even talking about it afterwards during our required trip to Toys R Us. :o)

I had no problems picking up a couple of packs. Walked through my local Odeon on the way home from work. No kids, or cinema tickets.

Mister_Bricks, then you must be willing to donate (for a small fee) one of each bag to me?

@ yellowcastle

Thanks. I'm not worried about her being scared or it being inappropriate - I just don't want her to get bored and restless half way through. Just need to convince my girlfriend that she'll enjoy it too now.

@mister_bricks

How much is it to just walk into the Odeon and buy the poly bags seperately without buying the kids mix? Thanks

@Lum I would imagine they will only be available through purchase of the kids mix which is only £3.25 so not to dear if you dont want to keep the food. Then again you might get lucky and have a kind assistant that will give you one

@mazzonG4637 - there is a cinema of sorts at the Coffee House Theatre at McMurdo Station, Antarctica. Don't think it's an Oden though :)

Had no problem getting 4 figs at Holloway Odeon. The guy at the till pulled out a bag with about 20 of each in and said it was all they had. Might get more in, I guess, but I feel safer having them in hand.

By in Portugal,

As i could know by a friend in UK not all Odeon cinemas have the minifigures... He tells me that an employee said that there are cinemas without the kids meal.

Today I saw the DJ minifig is a WalMart exclusive as a pack-in with the Lego Movie video game.
I was tempted to buy the game just to get the mini fig, even though I don't have any of the game systems for the game!

Just went to see the movie with mates and got the mini figs with no issue even tho we didn't take any kids.

Sweet, one kids meal each for my boyfriend and I, and I can hopefully get both an Emmet and a Robot fig. Plus, that's about all the popcorn I'll want to eat, anyway!

I popped into the Odeon in Exeter yesterday afternoon. The girls behind the food counter seemed very bored, but very happy to help. They actually left the counter to show us where the kids boxes selection was, and helped us select what we wanted. They didn't make us take the pop corn. We only bought 4 (2 Emmet and two DJ's), they said they'd been selling very well, over half box had sold just on Saturday (no idea how many boxes they are supplied with). You don't need to have tickets for the film, and you don't need to take the food (although we had some Smarties and fruit shoot drinks).
