Factory space sets now available from S@H

Posted by ,
Star Justice

The two LEGO Factory space sets can now be bought from LEGOshop.com in Europe. However they seem a tad expensive to me. At £70 (or €100 in Germany) for under 1000 pieces they do not compare well with Market Street, for example, which is £10 cheaper and has about 400 more parts. They don't seem to be available from LEGOshop.com in the US, but I suspect they'll be somewhat less than $150, which the exchange rate would suggest given the European prices.

I would like to say these are a must buy, but I can't find the money!

By in United States,

I actually did find the product in a US lego "shop at home". It is: usd $99.99. It is also exclusive.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

OK -- that's about £50, then. More reasonable, but still high IMO.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Yes, Lego Shop at Home does have the product in the US S@H. The price is $69.99 USD.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I not buying those worthless sets! Plus it's too much money for something that looks so small!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I have a burning question about the construction of these sets for anyone who may have them...
Space Skulls
-do the "tentacles" provide at least decent support for the biggest skull-ship/base?

Star Justice
-the vehicle looks cool with its suspension... but I am curious about the construction of the rear segment, I understand both the front and back have two sets of two wheels on a suspension system, but I also heard that the rear set "turns", I would just like some clarity on if it does turn, and if it does... then is it still swooshable?

Thanks, Carl Sagan

By in United States,

I think stickers once again are a bad, bad idea!

Gravatar
By in Brazil,

Yes, the stickers aren't very cool to these sets. But i think that these sets are greater for space theme than the mars mission ones. But, I'm not thinking in buy these two sets, firstly because the factory sets never came to brazil, secondly, I like more star wars and Indiana Jones sets.

By in United Kingdom,

Actually, the U.K Price is £70.00,not £50.00.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

there a bit too expensive it would be better if they were seperate sets

Gravatar
By ,

Sorry to be negative or anything, but I don't like these sets. They seem like a sad mix of astronauts and weirdness.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Sometimes I just don't understand why people always hate stickers, yes they can be time consuming and are easy to mess up, but sometimes they can add to a set. If all of the logos were just printed on the bricks, it seems like that would be one of the best instances of juniorization. Take a look at the city sets of the late nineties, none of them used stickers, all of them instead used printed bricks that were so ugly they could make you go blind. It shouldn't be a hardship to find some tweezers and carefully apply the stickers.

-Carl Sagan

Gravatar
By ,

You use TWEEZERS to put the stickers on? I just use my hands. And thats probably why they never go on straight. Anyway, despite tweezers, potential blindness, and the late nineties, I never liked stickers and never will.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Printed blocks are way better! I think these sets are indeed a watse of money considering indy and star wars are coming out very soon!

Gravatar
By ,

I was really disappointed with the new space sets. I thought that they would come out with sets that smaller and cheaper. Also, the stickers on the minifigs are bad, printed minifigs would have been much better!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Printed blocks are better overall.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I LIKE STICKERS FOR ONE REASON THEY GIVE YOU THE OPTION OF HAVING THE DEATAILS ,THOU THE ARE ANNOYING

Gravatar
By in Philippines,

The Factory space sets look okay, but I'd rather have the classics or Mars Mission sets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I don't know why we're talking about printed bricks and stickers but I agree with Carl Sagan.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Star Justice is $99.99 in the US and $149.99 in Canada.
$ $
(..)

Gravatar
By in United States,

I do think it is stupid that you have to put stickers on the minifigs, that kind of printed detail I don't mind, it would be pretty boring if all minifigs were colors like blue black red etc.

-Sagan

Gravatar
By in Canada,

stickers on minifigs !!!!! how wrong how very very wrong

Gravatar
By in United States,

I don't know why anyone wants to put stickers on minifigs! What was lego thinking?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wait...Wait... these new space sets...THEY'RE ARE STICKERS FOR THE MINIFIGS??!?!?! Are they insane!? You do not put stickers on minifigs! That is the most terrible thing ever!!!!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

i know but its factory just two sets so what can you expect,i would say mars mission is better ,and life on mars was the best thing ever

Gravatar
By in United States,

nah, life on mars was weird... mars mission is okay and the new sets look a little better...

There is no question that all of the space themes up to insectoids were the best, hands down, (except maybe robo-force)
-sagan

Gravatar
By in United States,

I saw this set at the lego store in Orlando,Fl. It was about $150. It is an expensive set! I mean it has less 1000 peices...it's INSANE!!!

Lego12

Gravatar
By in Canada,

i disagree Carl Sagan the aleins in mars mission a terible ant the old trike was a 100% better, yeah the price is a bit high for what you get and stickers on minifigs,i sugest waiting until it goes on sale so then it would be at least 100 canadian

Gravatar
By in United States,

yeah, the aliens do suck... but their ships are cool

Gravatar
By in United States,

They look okay, but I won't buy them. Stickers+Minifig=Bad!

In reponse to Carl Sagan: The vehicle bends in the center and the wheels are mounted on a technic beam that has one axle.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

i dont care much for the space skulls ,there a little odd especially the big one

Gravatar
By in United States,

Well, I am most certainly NOT getting these sets and their stupid put-on-sticker minifigs!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I really like the space sets and would buy them over mars mission sets although they are quite expensive. As for the stickers, I have to agree that they should be printed on the minifigure.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Some of the sports sets before had stickers for the minifigs. These sets are still goofy looking either way.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

bsmarthen, thats so you could customize them. And what a lot of people here don't know is that these sets were created on LDD, LegoDigitalDesigner, so they couldn't make new torsos and had to apply stickers. I would buy Star Justice if it wasn't so incredibly OVERPRICED.

Gravatar
By in United States,

they could choose so many other themes, why Space?! they already have MARS MISSION!

I agree with everyone, way overpriced!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Life on mars is a legend compared to these pathectic sets for money. I mean just look how lame they look! Would you pay 100 dollars for a cheap lego theme like Factory(excluding modular houses, they are awesome)?

Gravatar
By in Canada,

life on mars can kick mars mission all the way back to earth ,also mars misssion is about conquering mars (how american) life on mars was about exploring mars

Gravatar
By ,

Holy, this set is waaaaaaaaaaay overpriced. I mean $100? LOL. And stickers on minifigs? Oh yeah, Smallsam99, life on mars was okay, but the upcoming mars mission sets are way better then life on mars.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I agree :D Mars mission is so much better than Life on Mars :D

If anyone can't tell by now, I like using :D

:D hehe

Gravatar
By in United States,

I was just stating in comparison to factory and life on mars alone. I say mars mission is pretty good but my favorites are the classics like blacktron, insectoids, and spryius. Also I think space skullls suck!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Sorry, for the language it's just that I really don't like these sets. I mean it sounds like megabloks would make up sets like this!

Gravatar
By in United States,

way overpriced....and kind of cheesy...really cheesy

=(

Gravatar
By ,

I still cant believe there are stickers on minifigs. Heck, thats worse then belville.

Gravatar
By ,

Umm... I think this hould be worth Alot less! Its somewhat nice but why are they wasting time building some space invader set when they could be making new indy sets or starting a pirate series. on my opinion, ti was a total waste to make this set. o_o

Gravatar
By in Canada,

well i wish they made a better space theme and some of the old sets should be re -released like the 6987: Message Intercept Base because its every thing i want with a space set(not including gun turrets)if only i owend it

I don't understand why the item number is 10191, that should be the number for a UCS set. Unless it is a collector's item, though I don't see why it would be. It doesn't look much like a modular house to me...

Gravatar
By in Canada,

it worked though luke skytalker , i only like the little space ship the rest i could care less about

Gravatar
By in United States,

Skytalker, these are factory sets which are kinda similar to UCS sets in that they both have 5-digit item numbers.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Agh! It looks so expensive but when I first saw the pic I was expecting it to be like $50-60! $100 seems like way too much, but I'm prolly still gonna buy it anyway :P

Gravatar
By in Australia,

bad bad bad, very bad. this year is the 30th anniversary of the "classic space" theme and this is all they could come up with. bring back the designers of the 918/924/928 range and let them have a crack with the new bits that lego now produce. even better would have be to open it up to a worldwide design comp using classic space as the theme. i have alot of downloaded pics of stuff guys have produced that is way above this offering. mars mission looks to be sort of on the right track but how can you go past classic space? id rather spend my $100 online to get a classic set i dont have (space police 1, blacktron)
why lego dont re-release some of the classic sets (different moon logo of course so as not to devalue the originals) as well as the printed bricks (down arrow, LL924 would have to be CS924 with the CS being classic space of course!)

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

Completely right, speed27. The new bricks would be used to the advantage of those builders. Well, looking at this, it looks like the builders that built those sets got fired or something. Unless this is made by a fan like space skulls.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

this is made by a fan who has no idea what people want , id rather have somthing like supreme commander or doctor who ,wait a minute doctor who is really popular in the u.k./bbc countrys so lego should consider that

Gravatar
By in Canada,

To DoctorWho/:
Mars Mission is good. Who cares about the alien's arms? The aliens aren't all that important and they have cool ships and they use staffs so they don't need moving arms.

To Carl Sagan:
yes the star justice vehicle's back wheels can turn

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Mars Mission is about mining on mars and the aliens in Mars Mission are NOT martians. They want to take over mars and then, possibly Earth.

I think Life on Mars sets look wierd.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

life on mars aleins were weird but they were diobolicly cute , stickes are annoying on small peices and are not water proof ,i dont like you very much ,life on mars had awsome mechs and alein veicles ,mars missions alein veicles seem all the same using the same curved peice on everything at least the new martians have movible arms , sadly life on mars did not last long like most themes from that time
