Brickset users own over half a million sets between them!

Posted by ,

Over the last few days you have collectively added 1000-odd sets to your 'sets I own' lists which now takes the total to over 500,000! Unsurprisingly, the top 25 most owned sets are all Star Wars bar one, and I have to say I'm surprised what that one is (take a look yourself).

Here's to the next half-million!

By in Canada,

sooo cool I wonder If that's a record

Gravatar
By ,

Ha! sorry for the double post, but the non-SW set made me laugh. I only own about 2 tenths of those in the Top 25.

Gravatar
By in United States,

My brother used to have the number 1 set. I built it for him and he gradually lost it.... :(

Gravatar
By in N/A,

I hope it will reach to 1,000,000! Anyway like silverdagger7 said Go us!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I own 17 of the top 25! This is awesome-500,000 sets! That would be way expensive...

Gravatar
By in Canada,

we must buy buy buy and in 20 years we will have 1 mil sets

Gravatar
By in Canada,

i just counted and i own 139 sets ,but most of my lego is from grage sales so the numbers could be higher if i knew witch set some of the peices are from and also a handful that i commandeerd from my brother peice by peice

Gravatar
By in United States,

I only have 42 lego sets :( I buy most of my sets and have been building legos since I was 9 years old...that was 3 years ago!!! I hardly have ANY sets and I am a proffesional Lego builder! Wow I stink at collecting Lego's!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Whoops...I just told you that I was 12! My apologies!

Gravatar
By in United States,

When did you start collecting Lego's doctorwho/. How old were you when you started? Just asking...

Gravatar
By in United States,

By the way doctorwho/ where do you put all of your legos if you live in a trailer park?(Look at Profile). Just wondering....

Gravatar
By in Australia,

With over half-a-million set between eight thousand or so members, that's and average of 59 sets per owner! Cool. Lego12 you're behind! :) Just kidding. Still, I'm impressed by people like Huw who owns more than 600 sets. 8~0

By in United States,

Wow, never thought we'd get this far :P

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow. There are some new faces around here. Interesting to see the most-owned set. I myself must own at least three of them, as I have always had a fondness for clone troopers.

The ones that really surprise me are the final duel sets.. I never really thought much of them, and other than the fact that you get a cheap stormy, which at the time were quite expensive (if I recall) there aren't really any interesting peices/figs... I guess they're cheap and probably have something else that I'm missing in their appeall.

I think I own all of the star wars sets in the top 25 save for 7113. I'll go check that...

Gravatar
By in United States,

wow, 500,000 sets? Wow!! I actually don't own most of the top 25, and i'm a SW geek/fan! means need to save for these! I started collecting in 2005, so i don't have most of it. Obviously the clone scout walker would be the most owned, it looks cool and has the exclusive scout trooper driver!

Lets collect another 500,000 to set a world record! Wonder what it is, gonna google it!

By in United States,

By in United States,

That's kind of funny. I don't think anyone's actually going to mak a lego bridge to the moon, but we all have our dreams...

It's kind of funny to think that lego is nearly played an hour for every person..

Gravatar
By in United States,

I knew what the most owned set of brickset users was the Scout Walker. It's in the browse. By the way, I own it! :D

Gravatar
By in United States,

Nice facts there. That is alot.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think that it won't be unusual for bricksetters to own it if it's the most owned set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I just counted and I own 52 lego sets and its been 3 years. Should I have more Lego sets than I do now or do I have what most people got it three years? Please answer!

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

I actually own all of the top 25, and i have to say the non Star Wars one, the ambulance surprised me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

actually lego12, i own only 60 sets, and i've been collecting for 3 years also. Most of the sets are SW, and some are bionicle. I actually don't literally own them, I HAD them, and later sold all of it to a private collector.I actually still need to mark some off as I own, but I can't find them in the database.

Gravatar
By in United States,

YAH!!!! that's amazing I can't wait till we reach a million!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I own 95 sets and I've been collecting for five and two-thirds years. I would say that I have a lot, but about 74 of them are Star Wars, my favorite theme.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

lego 12 im 12 too , um thats just the name of a trailer park from a show i watch called trailer park boys

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

Haha! I am surprised by the top set! I own 3 out of all of those sets, but I reckon it looks funny that they are all star wars and then there is an ambulance set. That is so cool.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

i own 2 of the top 3 but dont have the scout mech

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I own 158 sets altogether, 21 of them are Star Wars out of which 7 are in the top 25 most owned sets. I have been collecting lego for almost 20 years.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I wrote something about this actually,
The comment was in a review and can be seen on my review posts page (I don't have many reviews, about five i think)
please check it out

Thanks,

Gravatar
By in United States,

also, I wrote the comment before this news came out, what a strange coincidence...
(sorry for the double-post)

Gravatar
By in United States,

two tenths is a fifth. just pointing it out.

*shrugs shoulders*

Gravatar
By in United States,

Thanks Da_LegoBuilder, Leggodt, doctorwho/, and sebulba for all of the information. It's nice to know that people like me and doctorwho/ are the same age as each other! See I started with Lego at the age of nine. I am really mad at myself for not finding Lego earlier when I was a little toddler. >:(

Gravatar
By in Canada,

my brother had lego so thats how i was introduced , i also sort of wrecked this set of his called the imperial trading post ,and how much was the re released 1 knights kingdom castle with modifcations because i seen it at london drugs for 90 bucks in american i think it was 119 so i think in canadian at shaop at home it was 150 sadly i had just bought 2 indi sets ,also all of there bionicles we on sale the new ones ,so i would ocasionly check zellersa and london drugs they have way better selection and zellers is about is good as toys r us

Gravatar
By ,

Ha! i'm such a nerd! Your right, Town. Two tenths is one fifth. :) Ah, anyway, i actually took the time to count (it wasn't hard) and i actually own ten of the top 25. So instead i own TWO fifths of those listed in the top 25. (or 4 tenths if you do fractions my way!)

Gravatar
By in Philippines,

Wow! go brickset. It's not a surprise to me that starwars is the top 25 MOS

Gravatar
By in United States,

there not ALL star wars. one is the Ambulance

Gravatar
By in United States,

Sorry doctorwho/ but I am not near a london drugs or zellersa. I live in the jungle.......somewhere near the Temple of the Crystal Skull(Look at profile) so I am not near any of the stores that you named........sadly. :( But they luckily have a Lego store in the Jungle near the Temple of the Crystal Skull!!!!! WooHoo! :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

I started getting into Lego's by playing baseballl....that a LOOOOONG story.... so I won't spend 30 minutes typing...hehehehehehehe!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

well that was mainly for canadian lego fans like me ,and how can there be 8000 brickset users when only a few post stuff

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

Because the others are dedicated to typing the reveiws, what everyone should be doing.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Ok, Comander-Cody, I have all of my sets in perfect order thank you very much! And, Sky-guardian, how many did you say were not star wars? ONE?!? That's not a lot! And, I was introduced to LEGO by a free 2002 August-September LEGO Magazine.

Gravatar
By in Bulgaria,

This is great!!
And it looks like Star Wars is bringing serious $$ to the Lego Corporation!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

i dont know why lego has finacal troble because 8000 people together own over half a millon,i think its because they keep making water guns and crappy costumes meant for really little kids

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

Man i don't even want to how much money i've spent LEGO. But its all worth it.

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

You will have spent at least $5000 NZ on it. I would be much the same.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

my lego is probaby worth um about 6000- 10000 by todays standerdsi got mopst of it at grage sales

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

Is that including the members that have been deleted? They still own sets too, but are hardly Brickset users. Also, some users that have been deleted have made another account, ie, Thomas Technic/Tommyboz.

Gravatar
By ,

14/25! I am guessing the ambulance just has awesome accessories, I would have got it for the stretcher if it weren't for my rescue helicopter.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I own 19 out of the 25 most owned sets on brickset. I think that I forgot to mention that earlier. :)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The new most owned set is the clone battle pack. It leads by 2! I have all the 4 most owned sets. And now only the top 20 sets are Star Wars! Nooo!
