Minifigures site at LEGO.com updated with series 4

Posted by ,
Sailor

The minifigures microsite at LEGO.com has been updated with series 4 bios, wallpapers and so on. This might be a sign that their widespread release is imminent! I see that a few enterprising souls have already listed some on eBay in the USA so they must have escaped somewhere already. (thanks William M)

Update: It seems quite a few microsites went live today as well:

  • The Pirates of the Caribbean one looks like it'll be slowly revealing the minifigs, perhaps one a day. (via BrickTuts)
  • LEGOSpace.com has info on the NASA sets (interesting how it's a domain in its own right, and not a subdomain of LEGO.com) (thanks Roygal)
  • The Cars site is up, but there's not much on it yet.

By in United States,

Wow well I have certainly been looking forward to these. Let's hope they are not as difficult to find as Series 4 once were.

Gravatar
By in United States,

As excited as I am about S4, I am really getting tapped out. I was really hoping I'd have until May to recuperate, but I guess the hunt is on again.

And if we really are on the cusp of having another series being released...it makes me wonder if we won't see S5 before the end of summer...if not July when the new sets roll out.

By in United Kingdom,

Cool, but I have to agree, they are getting to early and that means people have all of the new products to buy and then run out of cash. :S

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Wow, I thought Series 4 would be around May. They must be increasing prodution to do it this fast. All I need for
Series 3 is the Baseball player so I will snap him up (with some doubles of him of course). One thing I think is cool is that there is a new sports kit maker in Lego. I say this because the Footballer from Series four and the Waitlifter from Series 2 have the 2x2 brick/slope on them...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Great, I wasn't expecting them until the end of next month at the earliest! I hope they can be bought soon.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Got to finish collecting series 3 first :(

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@Trawler. What do you need?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

crikey out so soon!!! i just got over the payout for series 3

Gravatar
By in United States,

Where are the rest? They only have 12 figures listed...

Gravatar
By in United States,

S3 was announced as being released in "December", but appeared in the US in mid November.
S4 was announced as being released in "April", and it's now March ... just sayin' ...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I do still like these and will continue to collect them, but I am getting tired of talking about them!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I have to agree with the preceding posts, this is too much too soon. The budget cannot receive such an amazing set at the moment. I just don't think I can keep up if they launch so many so fast!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I dont know whether to laugh or cry... I love these minifigs, perhaps a little too much (o: I need time to recooperate and rebuild my funds before series 4 hit the streets!! But now I'm going to be checking online everyday for sightings. I'm addicted!!

By in United States,

Gravatar
By in United States,

These figures are excelent, but they are probably the last set im going to get. i have all the others, but about 50 for a whole set is a bit to much. Ill probably just shoot for the ones that I really want from series 5.

Gravatar
By in United States,

We need to start a support group called Lego maniacs anonymous !!!!
These things are like a drug!! Can't get enough and suffer withdrawls waiting for the next thing!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Awesome. Well, I better get some more series 3 while it lasts!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Besides Lego.com, Canada didn't see S3 until Jan... and that was at Walmart! My local TRU just started puting out S3 about a week ago. Luckily my local (super) Walmart will have piles of stock so they'll be enough for everyone when S4 comes out.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Did anybody notice that the Punk Rocker wasn't on the microsite?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Lego is probably trying to get S4 on the seasonal shelves for Easter Basket stuffers - similar to Target and Meijer putting S2 in the Halloween treat and S3 in the Xmas stocking stuffer aisle or Valentine's present aisle.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Come on Lego, slow down! I need more time for my wallet to recooperate!

Gravatar
By in United States,

So what's the most sought after minifig of series 4? For me, it's the hazmat guy, viking, and werewolf....in that order.
Got to agree with others.....too many great items and/or sets within a short period of time.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Best line ever for Hazmat Guy: "After all, with all of the crazy substances he’s been exposed to, it’s a wonder he hasn’t grown an extra face on the other side of his head!"

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think the best are Punk rocker, Geisha, and viking. I want all 16!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

@Brickmatic -- that's brilliant :).
In Australia we didn't get series 3 until late January, but I remain hopeful (since last year, we got the season one figures early).

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

I just had a thought about the Hazmat Guy and that character description - maybe that line is referring to the fact that he could have 2 faces, a calm/brave face and the worried/fearful face, at opposite sides of his head!?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I have been SOOO nervous for this post, I have a very very strong feeling that for some reason these guys are ganna FLY OFF the shelves, i dont know why, but I have just had that felling. now just where to get them.....

1.TOYS R US: I'll check there by phone just to know when they get a shipment in, just to know that within the next week other stores should be getting them as well. But, I advice everyone to not buy from toys r us becasue its a dollar more and that adds up ALOT over purchasing many of them.

2.WAL-MART: I will purchase ALL of my minifigures from WAL-MART, becasue they're a dollar less than toys r us and that dollar seriously adds up.

3.TARGET:if I miss out on a couple at WAL-MART, then I will go to target and get them there.

-I just hope they dont fly off the shelves too fast, IMO I thing these are the best series so far.

By in United States,

I am looking forwards to series two still. Hardly any store has them around me. My local toys r us said they had 288 on the floor today (via their inventory on computer) and there was not a single one there. They claimed it to be a stocking/shipping error.

Guess I have to keep calling! But the new ones look great, may have to bricklink them.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm actually glad they come out sooner than expected. I completely missed series 1, had to get them higher priced on ebay, but the gap between 1 and 2 was fine so 2 I went nuts. 3 came out early too but due to the price increased I only got the whole set and a couple extra. Haven't been buying anything since the first month they showed up so I'm stoked series 4 is on the way and i think its by far the best! I'm buying a box ASAP because I want duplicates of so many of them, and probably sell the remainder, then I'll be done with series 4 and take a break for series 5.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I cant wait til the set is released. If I am able to get a box, is there anyone with an extra set of SERIES 1 that would like to trade for a set of SERIES 4? If not I will probably sell my extra S4 to fund the purchase of a S1. I wish everyone luck in finding them.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The only series I had any problem finding was Series 1. Just this week I found a store with several cases of Series 2 figures, selling for $1.99. I picked up 5 random figures and got my first Spartan ( but to be honest he wasn't on my 'want' list so I hadn't been looking, but since I have him I'll keep him), so apparently this store wasn't too picked over or perhaps everyone has their fill of Series 2.

When Series 3 first hit, I snatched up a bunch the first time I saw them, but since then I've seen Series 2 and 3 many times in quantity so I'm no longer worried about finding the ones I want if I don't buy them right away. People who pay a premium for these online at this point are wasting their money. Just on casual trips to Wal Mart, Toys R Us, and Target I've had no problem putting together all the figures I want in Series 2 and 3, and that includes many doubles and triples of certain figures.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Why is the "Mad Scientist" called "Crazy Scientist"? He's quite clearly a "Mad Scientist"!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I've officially given up on Collectable Minifigures. Too expensive and too hard to get them all. I'm out. Smarter decision to save for the Cars sets now...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I dont think anyone needs to panic about not getting series 4. The availability of figures has gone up every series here in UK. Series 1 was 2 boxes in toys r us and maybe 1 in a store like WH Smiths. Series 2 was at least double that amount and series 3 is everywhere, still. My local tesco has 6 boxes, toys r us are on their second lot of 3 plus Ive seen at least 15 other boxes in various places. I will assume series 4 will be much the same. I just hope the UK gets them early.

Gravatar
By in United States,

those folks in the USA, where in walmart are the minifigs? im in CA, and have never seen any at walmarts. they are only at target during holiday time.

i finally got s3 during valentines. s1&2 was taking by lego vampires during closed store hours i believe.... :)

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Series 3 didn't come out until February in my part of Canada so potentially having series 4 out a month later is very soon. I'm not too upset about how close together series 3 and 4 are being released though as I know for sure I will not be buying series 5.

By in United States,

@LegoCityFanatic: Lego Space is everywhere? I'm in Minnesota. My job has me driving quite a bit, and I stop at many TRU's and Targets... and Mall of America. Still waiting to spot a set or two in my neck of the U.S. I did find some Indiana Jones sets at the TRU in Fargo, ND, though. So maybe Lego Space is being stored in the warehouse under a sign that says "Please hold for one more year." ;)

At the Lego Store at Mall of America, an employee told me they refill the mini-series 3 bin every day. I was able to finally get the Elf due to the morning re-stock. W.Marts, Targets, and TRU only get the mini-figs if requested by customers or corporate saw a lego sales trend (for the local market) that indicates the product would sell well in your area.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@ Krklint, I'm also up here in the twin city area and I was wondering if, in your travels, you came across any Wal-marts w/ S3. I stumbled across some at my local Target in the Valentine's section in January but I've been wondering if anywhere else besides the Lego store has been carrying them.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@beefygrefe, I'm also in MN, I've checked 3 Walmarts (Eagan, West St Paul, and Woodbury) without success. Only found them at Targets and TRU's (and MOA Lego Store of course). There's always Bricklink...I recently got all but 2 of the figures from the same seller at just over $3 a piece, plus shipping. Not too bad, and didn't have to search all over town for them.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Has anyone noticed that the guy selling the series 4 figures on eBay states in his listing that he had them in hand from a seller in Europe?! How is that possible?

Gravatar
By in United States,

@natro220, yeah, there's something to be said for not having to run all over to track these things down. But I'm trying to help a buddy complete his set and I've told him to check out Bricklink a couple of times if he really wants some...but if I could find someplace close (i.e. a Wal-mart that had them south of the river) I'd be willing to go paw through what they had. And while I don't mind going to the MOA for them, I feel a little silly camped out in front of the bin of minis, feeling up all the poly bags, at the Lego store.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@starfire2 Yea I noticed that too... seems strange, anyways im not interested in his listings seems shady lol. Plus I'm not gonna pay 10 bucks for a figure when they could be coming out any day now.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Last time I was there, one of the Lego Store employees was actually taking requests, feeling the bags for what he thought were certain ones. Kinda funny...

Gravatar
By in United States,

The local Fred Meyer stores here in the Pacific Northwest appear to be labeling their shelves for Series 4 but placing Series 3 on them instead. Perhaps this is a sign that Series 4 is imminent? Fred Meyer stores earned the reputation for putting Series 3 on the shelves almost 3 months early. Image: http://www.flickr.com/photos/wiredforsound23/5492343389/

Series 3 is still quite readily available and found here in the Pacific Northwest at the LEGO Store, Fred Meyer, Target, K-Mart and strangely Urban Outfitters (albeit for an unreasonable price).

Gravatar
By in United States,

Anyone in Minnesota still looking for series 2, there are around 3 boxes at my local Borders. Not surprised though, They keep them in the far back corner, slightly hidden. Anyone who does find them runs away from the price. They also have plenty of series 3.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Just wondering for those who say series 3 is still at target, I checked out a couple but they took down the valentines section and their seasonal section just has a bunch of lawn chairs and random stuff, where are you guys finding them?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Hey Carnigee77, which boarders is that? Feel free to PM me.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

in Ontario, Canada my friend found minifigures series 3 at Coles book store I think.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Just went to Fred Meyer and TRU today. Was able to score a few more Elves, a fisherman, 2 snowboarders and 2 hula girls. There were 4 boxes at FM and 2 at TRU all were full to brand new. If anyone come across the barcode/sku for seires 4 please post as my local WalMart NEVER had series three on the shelf and I am hoping that I can get them to get series 4 on the floor. Cheers.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Yeah, in the United States it is so hit or miss when it comes to availability. I think it really just depends on where in the country you are and how the stuff has moved through inventory. I think it would be cool to see a map with the locations/distribution of S1, S2, S3, etc. and how they change over time. Too bad that data probably would be hard or impossible to get.

Gravatar
By in United States,

My Walmart has literally THOUSANDS of series 3 minifigures. I got my samurai and 2 elves!! :D Now all I need is a fisherman

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Seagull, Not in the one I went to in Pennsylvania. It was a Super-Walmart too.

Gravatar
By in United States,

All over the place at Borders stores, but after all those bloody closings... :(

Gravatar
By in United States,

If you guys follow the link above, and read the "BIOS" under the crazy scientist, it states in the last line, that he will soon have a lab assistant, looks like theirs ganna be more to come after series 5!!!! :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

When I spotted Series 3 at Wal Mart here in WI, the first time was before Christmas and it was on the shelf in the LEGO aisle. Since then, I've spotted them a few times on side caps, generally nowhere near the LEGO aisle. Most recently I think they were on a sidecap in one of the girls aisles. That is the same place they had Series 2 way back when. So definitely check the sidecaps throughout the toy section, because there is no logic in where they place them.

As for Target, haven't seen them since Valentine's Day, but they were readily available in the Valentine's aisle for weeks.

By in United States,

I just want to point out that the guy on ebay is NOT selling the figs for high prices. These are auctions. People are voluntarily inflating these prices. People not unlike us I imagine...

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'll just wait till they hit the stores!

Gravatar
By in United States,

On my closest Wal-Mart, in FL, I found Series 3 bags by accident this morning at the "Clearance" section of the store. They had about 50 hanging there for $2.00 each. I found the price to be more than reasonable, and got all of them. (No time to feel the bags at Wal-Mart, plus I don't mind having duplicates, since I have 3 kids, plus I can always sell them at Bricklink later on to help finance the hobby).

Before today, I've never saw any packs of S1, S2 or S3 at any of South Florida's Wal-Marts. So, I guess they keep them at different places on different stores, I was just looking at the wrong places. I recommend going to your "Clearance" section at Wal-Mart and check there. I also saw some $39.97 sets going for $19.99. It was a Super Wal-Mart.

Target had plenty during Valentine's, but now I can't find them there anywhere. I bet they will have plenty of S4 for Easter. They always have a pretty good Easter section, with plenty of goodies, including Legos.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@BeefGrefe, personal reason connected to ex-fiancee, do not go in wal-marts, even for Lego.
@Carnigee77, I'm driving to the twin cities on Friday. Curious which Borders you speak of... would stop by there if I have time :)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I cant wait for Series 4, the Hazmat suit guy looks brilliant, I am hoping that Kid's Stuff Toys in Eastbourne which had the previous two series available almost a month early will have these for sale soon!

And this may be a bit off topic, but does anyone else think that the Fisherman's beard would look great on the Ki Adi Mundi Minifigure soon to be released, it just struck me for some reason!

Gravatar
By in United States,

@beefygrefe and krklint- They are at the Boreders in Woodbury.

Gravatar
By in Denmark,

For northern europeans, check out www.eurotoys.dk. They still have series 2 in stock, sells series 3 & 4 by the box. (4 will take a week longer, so apparently it's a kind of preorder you make) Only caveat, is that they sell 5 a time picked random, so you can get unlucky and 3-4 of the same kind in one order. Price ca. 100 DKR(10£) for 5, ca. 1000 DKR (100£) for a box + shipping.

I could've have sworn, that when I checked legoshop wednesday, they had series 4 up and it said sold out, but when I checked now nothing. Might've been my imagination.

@starfire
@Sword2211
@jarom_moroni
...I just wanted you guys to know that I got them on BrickLink. Although I wasn't going to fully state that in the listings, they are over now, so I can say. There are still 16 for sale on BL and they are for prices just under what I sold them for on eBay. I guess people on Bricklink are like some of you who would rather wait. I figured there would be people more excited to get them early on eBay though so I ended up paying $68 some for 10.
They are still being sold, as stated, by BRICKSHOP Holland, one of the biggest BL stores for about $11.50 each. He just uploaded photos it looks like. You can find them by going through his store or go to "buy", then "sets", then at the middle left under "collectible minifigures" you will find series 4.
Here's a link:
http://www.bricklink.com/browseList.asp?itemType=S&catString=746.760

I honestly have no idea how they got them either although Sword2211 has made a good assumption.
The main reason for this post is to let you all know that they are the actual thing (in fact I just received feedback for one that was purchased via buy-it-now), and to state that people do have them for sale if you want some.

I thoroughly enjoyed selling these items and it's nice that the news can spread to all these AFOL sites (if I may call them that) too.

These are my favorite three LEGO sites for sure:
Bricklink.com
eBay.com
and, of course, the one I'm on right now, Brickset.com.

Thank you all!
Hope you understand this better now.

(If you are ever wondering, my username is the same for this site as both eBay and BrickLink.)

Gravatar
By in United States,

$11.70 on Bricklink is more than I want to pay considering me and my two boys want alot of the figures. I want all 16 personally so that would add up quickly. I have patience and can wait till they hit the stores. If this run is anything like series 3, we will be seeing them around for awhile everywhere.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@redbrickmarket - I saw your eBay and Bricklink shops and from your eBay description I could kind of assume you got them from bricklink. As a seller on both eBay and Bricklink I wouldn't have taken the risk but It seems you did well. Nice work.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I would say wait. I mean the Series 3 is still available at lego.com and now Series 4 is coming up??
11.50 per fig is highway robbery any way you slice it..
BUT if people want to waste their money to be the first to get a figure that can be eventually had for 3 dollars at a local store then more power to them I guess...

Gravatar
By in United States,

Series 3 has re-appeared here in Minnesota (USA). At two local Walmarts, I spied end cases with the envy-green packets. I picked up 16 in Maple Grove (with at least 100 more) and my wife spotted them in Eden Prairie; she picked up 0 :(

I am still short on the Space Villain, Tribal Chief, and the Fisherman.

I am off to the local Wally Worlds tomorrow to finish up my set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I heard that LEgo is re-realsing 'pieces' of the Series 1 figs. Idk what this actually will be, but I'm excited since I missed out on all of Series 1!!!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Where did you heard it? I would love to get some Series 1 without paying $10 per fig on eBay.I am also missing 9 of the Series 2 figs. I have 4 complete sets of Series 3 :).

Gravatar
By in United States,

I saw 2 cases of series 3 at my local target the day before Valentines day... 2 days later, these minifigures were all gone except for a few torn open packs; they were sold at 50% off along with all the other Discounted Valentines stuff! I'm going to be checking my Target the morning after Easter to see if the same thing happens with Series 4!

Gravatar
By in United States,

@skherback. You got lucky to find anything on Target after Valetine's day. Usually Target either pulls out the entire seasonal stuff the day after, and you can't get it anymore, at least the stores in my area do it like that. I couldn't find any more Series 3 the day after Valentine's here. Wal-Mart has them for $2.00 though... on the Clearance section.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@spency13 I heard it too, I heard they are releasing the pieces or maybe the figs I dunno, at the build a mini bars in lego stores.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Sword2211 - I actually am not sure what risk you are talking about, but thanks! I have no idea why people like these figures so much but it works for me :D

Gravatar
By in United States,

If they are re-releasing S1, I hope they just do them on the yellow packs, just like the first run. If they decide to have them as separate pieces at the LEGO store, it will be a nightmare trying to have all 16 together! I definitely would not mind a second run of S1 and S2, so I can complete my collection! :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

No they are not rereleasing series 1, they are just going to have some series 1 elements in the build a mini figure stuff. So you can build 3 mini's for $9.99 and use series 1 elements.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Well, so I'll need to have a sheet with pictures of S1 minifigs for my trips to the store, and will see if it's possible to build anything, or at least grab some elements here and there to build similar figs.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@starfire2 - I can't wait to get the Crashtest Dummy's wrench. ;o)

Gravatar
By in United States,

I never got a Crash test dummy, and I really wanted one... same thing with the cowboy. :(

Gravatar
By in United States,

I just received an email from a BrickLink seller that he will be ordering S4 close to the end of the month. This is in EU of course, so I don't know about US or CA at all, but this does mean they should be coming a lot sooner than expected. Even before April comes around.

I'm sure this news is already out, but I also found out that EU prices are going to be going up for S4 this time. They will still remain lower than US prices, however.

Gravatar
By in Bosnia And Herzegovina,

S4 arrived in Bosnia yesterday march 9, with same price like S1, S2, S3 (2 Euro's per minifig)
