New LEGO brand store in East London

Posted by ,

London is set to get another brand store in a few months, at the new Westfield shoppping centre in Stratford. As has become the norm, we first get to hear about forthcoming shops from their adverts for staff, and this is no exception. AnseltheCat found this advert for a store manager on the LEGO jobs site. The post starts in August so I guess the shop will open September-ish, ready for Christmas.

Great! Hopefully, there will be Olympic Lego in 2012!

I still think Missouri needs some love... I'm not spending several hours driving to Chicago! The Discovery Center doesn't help to much either, I'd have to drive across the whole state to get there. Sorry if I'm being really picky, but I've never even been to a Lego Store... they sound so fun.

I think it's a little annoying how one city has a lot more stores than a whole country. Why can't we get one up here in Scotland?

^^ I also live in Missouri, and would love a LEGO store in my state! I heard at Gateway LUG (LEGO Users Group) a couple of months ago that Kansas City is getting a store. Now all I need is one in the St. Louis area! By the way, TBOC, which part of the state do you live in, Kansas City half, or St. Louis half? (or the middle...) I was just wondering which part of Missouri you want a store in...

Well hey I don't even have one in my country. If I want to go to a Lego store I have to go on an international flight. I would love to be able to simply drive a few hours to get to one.

Argh! When will Lego realise that not all of us live in the south! Seriously, there are plenty of good locations up in the north... this is one way that Lego treats its fans unfairly. Some locations get lots of stores and other places have none.

They are building a new Legoland in Florida United States. Set to open in a few months. If it was noted on here I missed it. If not then I'm happy to pass on the news.

This is awesome news for me. If there are any opening specials and I can get there that day can you normally pick up multiples? If so will try to get you guys some.

gregorovich - London has twice the population of Scotland :-)

Frankfurt only has a store because of the trade fairs held here, whenever I go in its full of Non-Germans buying stuff to take home for their kids.

That is good news, but for me the more immediate news is, being on a cruise ship on its way back from St. Petersburg, I am stopping off at Copenhagen, which has the biggest Lego shop outsie of the USA, happy days!

By the way, I have not been in the UK for a couple of weeks so I don't already know this, have the new SW summer sets come out in the UK yet?

Anyway, every new Lego store helps so this can only be good news (it could ony be better news if it were a litle closer to where I live in Eastbourne)

I think it's a little annoying how one city has more stores than a whole country! Why can't we get one up here in the Netherlands? Amsterdam would be a great spot!

To be fair London does need two,due to the size of the city. But what gets me is why does places like Milton Keynes have one? Why not in Birmingham where its easier to travel to?

I understand there can't be one in Bristol due to the distance between Cardiff.

For me to go to my nearest lego store I have to go to a another country(Wales).I could have it worse.

@Huw - The Braemar, have you been on it? The Lego store was incredible, about 5 times the size of the store in Brighton and I was able to get myself a Republic Frigate. But is the Lego Star Wars out anywhere in the UK yet?

Hopefully lego is having a push on opening new stores and I too would like to see one in Scotland but I guess everyone wants one near them.

I suppose lego have to do their market research and at the end of the day could be down to how much they are charged in rates by some of these big mall owners.
