Amazon.com has matched the price on some sets included in this week's Toys R Us promotion of up to 30% off on LEGO city sets. If you happen to live in a state that doesn't collect sales tax on Amazon purchases, the savings will eclipse those offered by TRU.

Some notable sets are:

Toys R Us has more selection than Amazon, and there are some instances where Toys R Us actually beats the Amazon price, so you'll also want to cross-check the list at Toys R Us. The most notable one was 4644 Marina. Please note that if you go into a Toys R Us brick and mortar store, you should not assume that the prices will be the same as the online prices, as they have a habit of marking them up in-store.

Also, remember to check your Rewards Bucks as they just recently issued credit from the previous offering period.

The sale at Toys R Us is nationwide, in-stores.

^ Correct, what I meant is that the in-store regular price is sometimes marked up over the web price, so even though the sale is online and in-stores, the in-store price will still be higher. For instance, 7938 Passenger Train is regularly $139.99 online, but my local TRU lists it as $151.99 and they decline to match the online price (apparently it's at the store's discretion).

If you go to a brick & mortar store, and if their price is more than the TRU online price, make sure to ask customer service to match the online price. This worked for me when I bought some train sets.

been waiting to get the 4644 Marina until the price went down considerably. Went down to the local TRU today and got it at the $35 price, which is much more reasonable.

The rest of the City sets are 10% off. Not a good deal...
