LEGO Minifigures Series 6 {Random bag}

Grogall, the source of so many of the images that have been added to this and other LEGO sites this week, has once again come up trumps, this time with hi-res pictures of the series 6 and 7 minifigs. I've scaled them down to fit on the page here at Brickset (8827, series 6 and 8831, series 7), but you can see the full resolution versions in his Brickshelf gallery. Thanks Grogall!

COLLECTIBLE!!

:p

Edit: apologies, that was the spelling my spell checker gave, but either way, it's not 'colletable' which was what my comment was in relation to.

I'll agree that 'collectAble' is correct. Cool pics! :D

By in Australia,

The wiki link you give, does list both collectible and collectable. And my browser (Google Chrome) does tell me that the latter is spelt wrong. Just saying. :P

Anyway, back on topic, the new figs are not bad. I certainly won't be getting them all, but will be picking up a few. (Particularly, the robot, the merman king, and the bunny).

I dunno, you wait for ages for a decent pic of the new Collectible/able minifigs and two come at once.

Great, Great, Great!!

Personally I prefer Series 6 over 7 this time because I think more of the Minifigures are recognisable, or least have more playability value, but none the less they both look brilliant.

My Series 6 favourite is the Genie, Series 7 favourite is the Zeus!

Man in pyjamas with sleepy/shocked expression = Arthur Dent.
Now we need a Vogon.

By in United Kingdom,

Just noticed the 'computer nerd' in series 7, holding a cup with C:\ on it. That'll be me, then :-)

Gravatar
By in Australia,

And me I fear. /:C

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I prefer series 7 over series 6. That being said I want 13 of the 16 figures from series 6 while I want all of series 7.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'll be getting the Scotman in the Kilt with bagpipes in series 7

By in United States,

Lemme get this straight. We're getting three skaters, two robots, an assortment of various specific types of groman soldiers, and an butcher...

BEFORE WE HAVE A PIRATE OR A KNIGHT?

By in France,

Interesting. They've anted up the female fig count from 4 to 5. Series 6: Flamenco Dancer, Surgeon, Punk Skater, Statue of Liberty, and Space Girl. Series 7: Little Red Riding Hood, Swimmer, Valkyrie, Bride, and Punk Rocker. A welcome change.

By in United Kingdom,

Didn't look close enough at the series 6. Will get a few of the surgeons for my hospital.
Is it me or is there going to be a skateborder in every second series?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I agree, someone on the Minifig design team obviously has a bit of a Skateboard/Space Travel fettish!
Not sure why but ive slightly lost interest in the collectABLE figs, will obviously get them all but they dont have the same excitement factor that the first 2 or 3 series had!
Saying that my favourite is still the Royal Guard from series 5!
Any word when 6 is going to be available?

By in United Kingdom,

That space trooper/commando looks badass ;-)

By in United States,

@xcrossx, I heard January for series 6. Although I would love to see them hit a little earlier, so I can grab them before Christmas. Otherwise, I will have to set aside some money.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I gotta have them...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@xcrossx, me too. They have a become bit passé now, haven't they. The rubbish plastic quality does nothing to pique my interest either.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

A roman Legionarre at last. I'll need 6000 for a legion, I hope they have a few in each box.

These look awesome, the figures just keep getting better.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow! I had actually been expecting a rabbit-suit guy. The genie is really awesome, too. I believe that's the first time they've actually used the hole in the front of the turban piece for something.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

*Drools* :P MOCcers will go into a buying frenzy just to get the Roman Soldier. :P And the Space Marine. :P And the Space Girl. :P And the Bandit. :P And the Highlander. :P And the Aztech Warrior. :P And Hippie. :P And the Dark Knight. :P And Rock Girl. :P And the Nerd. :P And the Viking Girl. :P See where I'm getting? :P BrickLink will go down just for the DEMAND of these 'figs. :P And LEGOShop.com. :P And eBay. :P And Amazon. :P Too many "ands". :P And ":P". :P

Gravatar
By in United States,

Must collect all of them! Does anyone know how many series they are going to make?

Huw, I know what you mean about the plastic not being as good, but it is still way better than the plastic that comes from the competitor! I don't think they are passe at all, the only reason I wish they would stop is because of my lack of funds and shelf space!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Sorry if I kill the party ... but neither set really excites me. The viking girl and cowboy are about the only ones I'd be interested in. Maybe the computer nerd guy, to be the teacher in my MOC schoolhouse. Seems a little bit like they had this great idea once (a series of unique minifigures), and are now struggling to keep it going.

@Vpustote: Thanks, I thought it would probably be about January time. Wouldn't be surprised if we see then before Xmas though.

@Huw: Haha, We say that but I'm pretty sure we'll be going through boxes in Tesco, Argos, Smiths or TRU in a couple of months time. You need to for the gallery anyway! ;-)
Speaking of which, I might have a look now as I haven't been on for a while. I could look at those all day long!
Some exciting new ' Proper ' figures coming out next year that I'm very much looking forward to!!!!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I love the Genie in Series 6 and the Nerd in Series 7.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'll be getting at least one of all of them, but, please, Lego, no more skate boarders!

Gravatar
By in United States,

This might be the best yet!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I might actually have to get a few of these. I'm a CG artist, so the first thing I thought of when I saw the Genie was "It's a Utah Teapot!" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utah_teapot)
Also, that Computer Nerd looks awesome (LOVE that mug).

By in United States,

A bagpipe?!?! AWESOME!!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Hey, LEGO? Just shut up and take all my money. All of it.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Dlakii
Nintendo is stealing mine... yeah, um Mario Kart 7? Sorry, I might have to sacrifice you for some of these figs.

Really, some of the best figures I've seen so far. The genie is the one I'm interested in. =)

By in Australia,

7 series and still no golfer :-(

By in Ukraine,

^@dixondog, He is an Aztec Eagle Warrior. They should also definitely do an Aztec Jaguar Warrior to match, since they are creating a lot of nice matching pairs of figs.

^^ @thd-br, Are you kidding? This line could easily go on *infinitely* with all of the various categories of figs that we would probably never otherwise get in a full theme or a complete set, like all the ancient warriors, all the traditional international outfits, mythological creatures, athletes, entertainers, etc, etc.....

^^^ and @gsx r-42x, C'mon! There are literally hundreds of pirates and knights in normal sets... The strength of the collectables is that they can do offbeat figs that we would never get otherwise!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I wonder what theme colours TLG will choose?

Gravatar
By in United States,

@___@ Red HOOD! so much want! finally i can make my minifig from LEGO Universe in real life! yayayaya!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

XCROSSX Ima bit like you and don't have the same rush to go out and get the minifigs as quick as I did with the first 3 series. Think it may have to do with the later series aren't selling out as quick as the first 3 so I can pick them up as an when and also maybe that they are releasing them too quick rather than one or 2 series a year.

I wish they would resort to some form of marking on the packet so we know what one is inside as I believe they would sell more of these as at my local stores the boxes seem to be full as not everyone is prepared to take a random gamble and its getting harder to feel whats in side. So i beleive they would sell more if you knew what you were buying ie if you wanted more of a particular figure ie to build a small army or surgeon team (S7) or just get a full set.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Finally finished series 5 yesterday due to a couple days of shameless squeezing (damn fisherman!) so im ready for series 6!

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is the first time in a while I've seen the collectible minifigs worth it (the series with the Spartan was the only one really worth it to me)
Series 6 I like the best, with the Roman legionary and what appears to be a Celtic/Germanic warrior
Maybe the appearance of historical based minifigs is foreshadowing the coming of historical based sets....

Gravatar
By in United States,

@ dixondog: Yes, you're right. It could be a red-colored Jawa cape. I saw on Bricklink that they had shorter capes than the standard minifig cape.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow, amazing! Then I totally get put off with the fact that these are Chinese plastic and thus, I will not allow them to 'mingle' with my Lego Minifig collection. I think I'd be more inclined to buy them if they were Lego plastic.
P.S. I have really no problem with Mega Block plastic, but Lego cheap plastic seems especially cheap and lesser quality then Mega Blocks. Also it's the fact that Lego is doing it that makes me overreact more.
Oh, and I really think these are the best two series yet, they are really creative!
Dixondog- You can if you want too. There really isn't one way to do it.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I can't wait! These look So good! one thing though the computer programmer's cup should have a penguin on it.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

the sci-fi warrior looks amazing

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@dixondog yes yes we do. Best minifig seires yet!!!!
