Bargain watch for Amazon.es now live

Posted by ,

DrDave and I have put the finishing touches on the Spanish Amazon Watch page and it's now available for your perusal.

Having just taken a look it appears that there's some great bargains and deep discounts to be had, so if you're in Spain, I hope you find it useful.

By in Germany,

You should have added "Hola!" in the article... :P Anyway, when will we get a translated version of the Bargain Watch page in French, German, Italian and Spanish? Isn't it a simple copy/paste job? :P

EDIT: Off-topic: Mail Order Express doesn't seem to have LEGO anymore: http://www.mailorderexpress.com/s?searchKeywords=lego&Action=submit You better remove the link in the "More buying options" page... :P

That is a cracking price on the tower bridge.

^ You're not wrong - wonder if they ship to UK ?

;-)

By in New Zealand,

yes they do, for €5 or something, just ordered one :)

By the way, where can I find this page from the main brickset navigation? doesnt seem to have a home in the site architecture.

^ Unless you click on the link when an alert comes up (make sure you opt in to the alerts via your preferences page) or live in Spain (in which case there'll be a link on the top right of the screen, just like you have the UK link on your front page), I'm not sure you can. I'd therefore suggest you just bookmark the page using the link in this news alert and refresh every time you visit - that'll do it.

UPDATE : amazon.es seems to be quoting me around 8 Euro postage for standard delivery on the Battle of Endor playset. @xangodango please let us know how you get on with your order for Tower Bridge - if it arrives in one piece and without additional charges, Amazon.es might end up being a useful find for all of us on the bigger sets and not just folks living in Spain....

^^ No probs, will do (I'm si_dorking on the forum, dont ask me about the weird usernames, i screwed up and its too late to change it now!)

Would be nice to give these very useful pages a proper home some time. I'll add it to the requests thread.

PS tax is already paid on the tower bridge and postage was actually 8.17

Productos: EUR 134,89
Envío: EUR 8,17
------
Total antes de impuestos: EUR 143,06
Impuestos: EUR 28,61

^ Mill village raid was under £50 on amazon uk at one point, and Kings castle has been under £70

By in Curaçao,

@DrDave, you're right, that's where the links appear but maybe there should be a permanent place for everyone to be able to get to those that are not their 'home' Amazon. I'll give it some thought.

In time, I plan to add a 'Amazon' tab to the set details pages to show the set prices at every Amazon.

@xango, I can change your name here if you'd like me to, drop me an email if so.

^ So perhaps one day they'll be discounted again... I'm seriously hoping so.

Man, I missed a lot of cool sets in my "dark ages": Cowboys, Vikings, "classic" Ninja/Samurai,...

By in United Kingdom,

Oh blimey charlie, so now I have to be tempted by Amazon es too!!

Just ordered Tower Bridge and City Corner, if it's anything like my previous experience of ordering from Amazon fr, then it should be fine.

By in Germany,

Good grief, the non-UK Amazons are more useful than I thought... :P

By in Germany,

@BJMdotLEGO: Ooooh, a price tracker. :P Customisable, too. :P Niiiice... I like it. :P SOMEONE CALL HUW, NOW! :P

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

No need to visit camelcamelcamel for the price tracker now - there's one included in the Bargain Watch listings - just click the little graph icon beneath the RRP.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

@DrDave: But they are customisable! :P You can adjust what to display! :P Not convincing you, eh? :P

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Every time Huw logs on, I hope he launches the Amazon.it Bargain Watch page... :P

By in United Kingdom,

^ Not ready to go yet, unfortunately. Patience !

Gravatar
By in Germany,

@DrDave: "Patience, young one"?... :P GAH, THE WAIT'S KILLING ME! XD

By in Australia,

I am very impressed that you are able to include other countries in your 'Watches'. Although I do turn them off in my preferences, I still consider them a part of what makes Brickset such a good website for Lego fans. Good work!

By in United Kingdom,

^ You might want to keep an eye on France, since they ship to you...!

By in Germany,

@DrDave: Turns out these international Amazons are useful for Brits, too... :P

By in New Zealand,

Tower bridge took 2 days delivery, has arrived fine.

By in United Kingdom,

^ Same, but my box has a very small puncture hole on the back, I'll get over it.

By in United Kingdom,

Good to hear that we now have a new route to get cheap LEGO !

By in United Kingdom,

Ordered Daigon Alley & King's Castle on Monday; both arrived yesterday (Friday); packaging was standard Amazon (i.e. pretty good), although a couple of dings / dents to Harry Potter internal box.

A word to the wise; the discounts aren't always as good as it first seems, due to tax [even within EU], shipping and (here's the clincher) the exchange rate used by your credit card company.

Sales Tax, Hidden charges (no idea what they were) and shipping took it to 199.15 EURO (£175)
Actually charged on credit card £179, due to exchange rate fluctuations

So saving was only £36 (£215 - £179), which isn't too bad, I suppose, but doesn't set the world on fire. Would suggest only worth doing if you're ordering a few sets, to avoid additional postate costs.
