The theme has gone from having a martial arts (feel) to some mixed up sci-fi circus. I'm a male.... and looking at these new NinjaGo sets makes the Friends sets look awfully attractive. By madplanet in United Kingdom, 15 Dec 2011 13:46Im liking some of these sets. I am hoping someone will do some HeMan decals seeing how much these look like snakemen from the old HeMan series. By Ypres in Canada, 15 Dec 2011 14:09Okay... I'm officially wierded out! I'm almost tempted to buy these sets just to see what all these snake mutant machines would look like next to each other! I was a huge fan of this theme and loved the dragons and fancy ninja outfits that went along with it. Well, to say the least, until Marvel picks up the DC scraps I won't really have any other new themese to go for. Right now, as far as interesting (different) themes go, NinjaGo still manages to beat everything else thus far. While I'm not entirely sure who Lego is targeting anymore, they're at least still quality models. Looking at the third image on ToysnBricks (the snake mech) really reminded me of those Gunmen creatures from Gurren Lagann. By Andhe in United Kingdom, 15 Dec 2011 14:12Just when you thought Ninjago couldn't get any weirder... A snake scorpion wrecking ball crane??? By legoDad42 in United States, 15 Dec 2011 14:22Even though these might look 'weird' to some, Ninjago is big with kids. They love it.Plus for Moc'ers out there, you got some great new weapons, minifigs to customize off of and new parts and prints. That Battle Arena would be fun for the wee ones as they battle with the spinners, they can chomp on their opponents with those large demon heads. Heck...I'm stoked to play too...;) By grandbuilder2001 in United Kingdom, 15 Dec 2011 14:58Why will Toys'n Bricks not work on my laptop!!! :( By refriedbeans in United States, 15 Dec 2011 16:05They were actually revealed on Eurobricks first. By halfpenguinhalflego in United Kingdom, 15 Dec 2011 16:22I for one love the snake wrecking ball, how cool is that? It is also really well made for a set aimed at kids. The snake eyes are done perfectly! By mrwhizzard in United Kingdom, 15 Dec 2011 16:23Its clear to see that the Cartoon Network have had considerable input into Ninjago's 2012 lineup, but the marketing works and will get TLG the continued demograph they seek with the theme. By Zrath in United States, 15 Dec 2011 17:47The eyes on the snake wrecking ball scorpion thing are great and clever! Two Speed Racer fenders at right angle from each other! Genius!I don't know if I would buy the set though.Oh, who am I kidding? OF COURSE I will buy that set! :DIf only for Kendo Cole and his weapons. And to get more treads. By Bobszaar in United States, 15 Dec 2011 18:01They dare call these ninjas? No, this is just Lego's way to create Power Rangers without a license, and no royalties to Saban. Maybe Lego does want lower prices on some products...@aaronptrck- Cold, but very possibly true. I must remember those wise words at the end... By Thrund in United Kingdom, 15 Dec 2011 18:01The mech - which looks like the smallest of the three - could be a great source of parts. Apart from the Kendo figure (which I was going to buy separately anyway), I count 10 light grey 1x1 round tiles on the mech's hands, plus some other parts which I think are appearing in lime or purple for the first time. By itsaturkey in United States, 15 Dec 2011 18:07Heh, the catapult looks like a Seeder Catapult. I may think Ninja go is strange, theses are the best sets so far in the theme IMO. How many times can you make white vehicles? This color (Colour, color, however you want to say it :Pscheme is unique along with the snake idea. It's weird, but it works. By glamdring804 in United States, 15 Dec 2011 19:25Yet more awesome sets for my wanted list... By The Reviewer in United States, 15 Dec 2011 20:51Ninjago justs keeps getting stupider and stupider. first skeletons driving tanks, now wierd snake mutant battle machines. Why can't lego give us a real ninja theme like they did in the 90s? By Dlakii in Australia, 15 Dec 2011 21:04This is incredibly silly. Whether that's a good thing isn't my place to judge. Though, I guess people'd (not including myself because I don't particularly mind) be much more accepting if they hadn't called the line *Ninja*go and had made their fantasy kitchen sink intentions slightly clearer on day one (though really, when the enemies were elemental skeletons one would think all bets were off). By legozan in Canada, 15 Dec 2011 22:12What is every one talking about this is crazy Does anyone watch the show When the red snakes [fangpyre] bite machines they turn into snakes sheesh and lego makes the cartoon and they are probably going to make sets for a lot of the things in the show The lego ninjago sets are awesome Thank you to anyone who agrees with me By AETerry in United States, 15 Dec 2011 22:38The Snake Crane, however oddball and weird it looks is one of interest for me due to parts I see that I'd want and would make use of.I'll agree with the sentiments and feelings about Ninjago being LEGO's Power Rangers w/o being Licensed for it. Simply as we're looking at 2012 introduced a Green Ranger, I mean Ninja and then there's the "mysterious" Samurai, who is she?I do like the Snake Minifigures, I'd like to get several of them and I hope there can be a Battle Pack of Snakemen. By comandercody654 in United States, 16 Dec 2011 00:08:/ By ambrose in Australia, 16 Dec 2011 04:46these are AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! By mrwhizzard in United Kingdom, 16 Dec 2011 05:12Its comparisons to Power Rangers is not unintentional seeing as Cartoon Network had some considerable input into the TV series. By Joefish in United Kingdom, 16 Dec 2011 06:08I didn't like any of last year's skeleton vehicles. But I actually want some of the new Ninjago ones we saw earlier - they look great. These two vehicles, sadly, don't. I presume the middle one is an addition to the spinning tops game, so we'll leave that one to the kiddies. By Zordboy in Australia, 16 Dec 2011 06:43Giant snake robot?I'm onboard. By madplanet in United Kingdom, 16 Dec 2011 08:46Why is the snake in 9455 holding a banana? Still find it amazing the look of the vehicle snake head and the eyes. So well thought out despite that this was a battle top game. By sharky in United States, 16 Dec 2011 09:24I was only interested in Ninjago for the Asian architectural type stuff and the actual ninja minifigures. This theme has taken a turn for the surreal. I hope it's a hit with the kids. Part of me is kind of glad they went wacky. One less theme that I will want to buy. By AgentWHO in United States, 16 Dec 2011 14:03I personally think all the snake vehicles are pretty cool, I mean who doesn't want a snake mech, or crane or helicopter. And it's a bunch of lime green! By Jay Kenobi ZX in United States, 16 Dec 2011 22:32@ madplanet: Well, you see, they tend to get hungry every once and awhile.... By Carnistir Morifinwe in United States, 17 Dec 2011 14:55These are cool! I'm gonna get the Crane Thing, if I don't get the Fangpyre Truck first! By mrwhizzard in United Kingdom, 19 Dec 2011 06:00Smthys Toys in Bristol and Swansea have some of the new Ninjago sets in stock. Worth checking your local Smyths to see if this is the case also. By Brew75 in United States, 21 Dec 2011 09:39I this page>http://www.flickr.com/photos/vbbn/6541036771/in/photostream/ may be interesting By chrismajor2124 in United States, 21 Dec 2011 13:58The reason for the vehicles is because in the TV series, the Fangpyre have the ability to transform whatever they bite into a snake-like thing. for instance, they invade a junkyard and build themselves vehicles to fight the Hypnobrai who betrayed Lloyd. They basically bite into a piece of metal and it turns into something like a half-snake-half-vehicle-thing. By rainstorm26 in United States, 21 Dec 2011 21:35As an AFOL I really despised this whole theme. Well, unfortunately I couldn't ignore it as I have a 9 year old Lego fanatic at home. He has really gotten into the whole Ninjago theme. The marketing scheme from TLG has been intense and very successful from TV shows to online games to the Lego Universe Ninjago area. If you look at what one of the highest searches on Brickset it, it is Ninjago. I agree with most people in terms of how bizarre the theme has become and more like power rangers than ninjas. I still despise the whole theme, but....I can tell you from first hand experience of working with him on these sets that they are actually very well built and very fun. I really thought that Jay's fighter plane was a joke when I looked at the box. Boy, first impressions can be way off. It is a very cool set with the exception of the rubber band. Once you sub in a smaller rubber band, it is really cool. I suggested to my son to modify it with some of the spring launched missles like the one on Cole's car and he went to work and instead turned it into a bomber when you extend the wings. The bad guys with two heads are kind of lame (I haven't seen them in person). The big snake minifig with the tail is really cool. I like the snake appearance of the vehicles. My son hasn't built one of them yet. The rotating cockpit on cole's vehicle is a very nice build feature and could be used in other MOC's.So, if you don't have a 8-12 year old son in your house, I would probably avoid them and pick up the instruction manuals on line and look at the building techniques and integrate them into your own MOC's. I was thinking about trying to build a second Jay's fighter out of my own random bricks. Two very swooshable battle planes. What could be more fun.Merry Christmas Commenting has ended on this article.
