The toy shop in the centre of London, Hamleys, recently added the summer Star Wars sets to their website, with prices and descriptions. I believe they've been removed now but forum member cephaser thankfully grabbed them before they went. So, this is what we have to look forward to. By in United Kingdom,

These sound brilliant, can't wait!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Funny, I don't remember missiles on Jabba's Palace in the movies...

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Woo-hoo! Gonna break the bank this year...

Gravatar
By in United States,

Another Jabba's Palace, but still no Rancor? Arghhhh...

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't remember Amidala ever being in the Gungan Sub, and they're missing Han on the Desert Skiff (who was definitely there, and is in the first skiff set). I'm starting to get annoyed with the random minifig insertion in sets where it doesn't even make sense, yet missing key players in others. Why couldn't they just make a scene/vehicle that Amidala was actually in?? And yes a Rancor would be most awesome...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Prices listed are Hamley's prices though - which are 33%-50% higher than RRP...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

^Hope so, as I won't be paying £151 for Jabba's palace! And I agree with Tomcatt above, the seemingly random inclusion of exclusive figs is just pushing collectors to get everything, even vastly overpriced re-issues like the x-wing (£50 to get Porkins?) or y-wing (ceremonial Leia) while the skiff is missing an important fig (Han) to that sequence. I do want an Amidala and Salacious Crumb though...... Best start saving.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Thank you Pyroxian!! 151 pounds........ that converts to well over $200 USD stateside, right?

Gravatar
By in Germany,

@tomcatt, Delatron: Han Solo already comes with Jabba's Palace.
So there is no need to add him to the Desert Skiff.

Those two sets are a perfect match: All minifigs make sense and no duplicates! (one Luke, one Han, one Leia, one Lando, ...)!

And Queen Amidala really should get her own set, e.g. a nice thrown...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Jabba's palace could be the next home one or hoth echo base I think.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Where is the Sith infiltrator from starwars the old republic ? =(

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

In all fairness, they're going to rescue Amidala when they're using the Gungan sub so it's not completely illogical. Yeah, she's never in the sub, but add a few battle droids and you've got a rescue play set.

It's not like there are all that many options for including Amidala either, unless you're really clamoring for one of those hovering senate seat/podium things.

There is that silver Naboo ship that would suit, but that's still more of a Padme thing than Amidala.

Gravatar
By in Philippines,

Of all the sets Queen Amidala will be placed is the Gungan sub. I like to have the queen but the sub? Not so much.
The Malevolence seems interesting.. hope it is a great set. Like SW ships.
Jabbas palace.. At last a set where I can get Jabba.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Not sure about everyone else but Im VERY anxious to see what changes or improvements they made to Jabba! :)

Two descriptions for the marvel sets were also on hamleys:
6866 Wolverine’s Chopper Showdown
Oh no, Magneto and Deadpool are attacking Wolverine with their helicopter. Help him to escape! Dodge the missiles and make a quick getaway on Wolverine’s Chopper before Magneto traps Wolverine with his magnetic powers. Includes 3 minifigures: Wolverine, Magneto and Deadpool.

6867 Loki’s Cosmic Cube Escape :
Loki is escaping from S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters with the powerful cosmic cube. If he succeeds, he could use it to wreak havoc on the world! Can Iron Man take to the skies in his amazing armored suit and chase down the speeding off-roader or will Loki escape with the cosmic cube? You decide! Includes 3 minifigures: Iron Man, Loki and Hawkeye.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

9 minifigs in the Jabba palace set? If I remember well the "leaked" prelim pictures of the box showed 10 minifigures.. Well one was only a black shape, but it hinted towards a long awaited Ithorian..
Lets hope that this Hamleys info wasnt complete and he will finally be included..

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm a bit discouraged about jabba's palace with not rancor as well... Oh well.

@water jedi 17 thanks! A set that includes Wolverine, Magneto, and Deadpool?! That's awesome! I can't wait to hear some more LOTR news.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Jabba's Palace sounds good but in terms of looks, it's no way worth £99.99 (cos that's probably what it will be considering hamley's price inflations). Also having looked at the forum, I really hope lego minifigures series 7 aren's £3 cos if they are, there's no way i'm buying them. I'd say £2 was the maximum considering they're quality!!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow! I can't wait to get my hands on these sets! They sounds fantastic! I think I'm gonna get everyone one except for the Malevolence. Too bad Jabba's Palace still doesn't have a Rancor... But the Boushh outfit is a nice addition.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Um, Huw, I don't think that's the right starfighter for Sassee Tiin. The illegal youtube video we were all watching last month showed a delta-7 like ship. It was unusual (I can't remember how, but I remember there was something odd), but definitely more like the rest of the clone wars Jedi ships than the one in the link.
On the whole, they look good, but like @labrat said, what about the rest? Are these just not going to be released until later?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The other two are probably going to be exclusives to one outlet or another.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Jabba's Palace and The Gungan sub are my must haves.

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

Boba Fett should be in the Jabba's Palace set instead of Han, and Han supposed to be in the Desert Skiff. IMHO.

Another useless Gungan sub, why can't Lego make a J-type 327 Nubian royal starship and put there the exlusive Queen Amidala figure, with her bodyguards (Sabe, Capt. Typho, Dormé)? Or something like that. There are so many Naboo starships.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Glad I didnt buy Slave I in the sales, as Ive already got Bossk loose and just need Dengar once ive got the palace set.

I'm glad Fett is in the cheaper of the classic trilogy sets, it's fairer for minifig collectors like myself.
I hate having to buy the big sets just for one figure (obviously thats just the way the business world works).

Ive never had a Jabba or Lando and cannot wait for Kithaba, Salacious Crumb (my favourite SW character) and Oola.

This is so exciting.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I am so getting Jabba's Palace and the Gungan sub. I can't wait!!!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Nothing on R2-D2 yet then :o(

Gravatar
By in Australia,

i saw pictures for these last year on youtube and some lord of the rings ones as well

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

WOW - JUST SEEN THE IMAGES. LOVIN THE STAR WARS ADVENT CALENDAR 2012! DOOR 24 IS SOOOOOO GOING TO BE WORTH THE WAIT! SET ID IS 9509. FURY CLASS INTERCEPTOR (SET 9500) LOOKS COOL TOO!!!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

That image you have linked to is not Saesee Tiin's fighter, the fighter which is being released by Lego is going to be his Jedi Starfighter from the Clone Wars, basically Plo Koon's fighter in different colours.

Gravatar
By in United States,

All these years chasing the Cloud Car....now it is coming to me. :D

EDIT: @waterjedi17, DEADPOOL? :O I can't wait!!!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

So I don't get it... when I convert the prices to U.S dollars, it tells me that Jabba's Palace is around $230, and the Gungan Sub is close to $120. Is there something wrong with the prices, because they sound WAY too high to me (Gungan Sub pictures looked like it was about $40-$60, and Jabba's Palace pictures looked about $80-$100.)?!

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

@ grelb32 : welcome to the reality as being experienced by most people outside of the US.... :-(
Though the mentioned prices here do seem to be quiet exagerated, in many european countries we do pay many times about the double of what you (are prepared to) pay in the US. Specially when it concerns licensed sets... And I have the impresion that for our friends in Australia it is even worse..

Gravatar
By in United States,

I really don't collect SW sets, but I'm really looking forward to seeing some of these. Gungan Sub, Cloud Car, Jabba's Palace, and of course, the Malevolence! May have to get at least the Sub and the Malevolence.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Corellian, I feel sorry for you all. But it doesn't make sense...shouldn't prices be LOWER in Europe because that's where Denmark is?

Weird LEGO is weird...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@CapnRex: My point exactly. But there doesn't seem to actually be a picture of the actual thing on Wookieepedia!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Going by the 25% rule and US usually higher in dollar terms, that set should be 119.99UK/129.99US.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm getting the Malevolance and the Gungan Sub. Maybe the Desert Skiff, cheaper way to get the amazing Boba Fett minifig...

Gravatar
By in United States,

By my calculations for myself its gonna cost me $420... Including all 6 mini sets, desert skiff, jabbas palace, malevolence, gungan sub, geonosis cannon, and the 2 battle packs. too bad it doesnt include the 2 swtor sets those are the major ones on my list but it looks like a pretty good year. I do like the random minifigs in the sets and no repeats.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Can anyone direct me towards the SWToR sets? I'm definitely interested already....

Gravatar
By in United States,

It looks like we'll see a new mold of Jabba the Hutt from the image of the preliminary set. I hope we can see some padawan hair for Obi-Wan in the new gungan set.

Gravatar
By in Singapore,

Aww...they got rid of the pictures! :(

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Can't see myself getting most of these, with no new Clone Wars on UK TV my 8 years old son's interest in Star Wars is rapidly wanning; he only wants two or three of the january release sets, amd their way down the list behind Batman, Dino and forest police. The Palace and Skiff sets are probably going to be about it from this lot; espacially as I'm anticipating the Hobbit / LOTR sets taking up most of the lego budget in the latter half of next year.

9500 Sith Fury Class Interceptor

Gravatar
By in United States,

So how come the people in Great Britain don't just pay people in America to buy the sets for half the price, then ship them to them? Because instead of paying 40 GBPs for the Desert Skiff, you could pay someone in America 25 USD (the equivalence of 16 GBP) to get the ship, then pay them for shipping it to them.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

^ great idea grelb32. Thanks for the offer! I'll be tapping you sometime in the summer!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm extremely curious about the Malevolence. I was one of the first ten episodes of the first SW CW Season, so it must've taken them a while to make it now that the season is on Season 4 or five. It's a very large ship so I wonder what the scale will be like. I'm optimistic for the rest of the sets.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

9499 and 9516 sound good. But, 9499 is $120 and 9516 is $240 (both CAD) but I don't think those prices are right, seeing as the planet set prices in the list above are 15 pounds each, but they really should be 10 pounds each, which is a price upgrade of 33.3%, or one third. Assuming the prices stay the same, you'd have to take 1/3 off all of the prices which would make 9499 $80 and 9516 $160 (again both CAD). Which is still a bit expensive.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Even considering that these prices are 25% above the normal RRP, I don't see how Jabbas Palace is worth anything like £100, having seen the pictures. Lego really is overpriced these days.

Gravatar
By in United States,

^ I guess that means no rancor? :P

Gravatar
By in Canada,

^I don't think so.

Full price readout: (only in USD and CAD; for GBP take off 1/3)

9516:

USD:$160

CAD:$158

9515:

USD:$150

CAD:$152

9499:

USD:$79

CAD:$80

9496:

USD:$40

CAD:$41

9498:

USD:$40

CAD:$41

Remember, these are only ESTIMATES, NOT actual prices. (I hope they aren't.)

Gravatar
By in United States,

It's too bad that 9498 isn't the Sharp Spiral, and is just another generic Jedi starfighter. I'm personally getting tired of how many of those LEGO has released.
Definitely looking forward to Bespin, you don't see other planets like it in Star Wars. I'm afraid that Endor and Yavin 4 will look too similar to Naboo though, and two jungle/forest planets in a single release seems redundant anyway. I wish that one of them was Coruscant.

Gravatar
By in {Unknown country},

Funny, the gungun sub comes with the queen of naboo. Lego must want it to be a big seller!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I was so hoping for a Theed Palace set with Queen Amidala in it. Her in the gungun sub makes little to no sense at all. When she met Boss Nass, she was dressed like one of her slaves.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think one of the comments said that jabba's palace was $150, but it is so small....

Gravatar
By in United States,

I never remember seeing padme inside the malevolance with Anakin or is this a clone wars set?
