Toys R Us reveal Marvel Super Heroes sets

Captain America's Avenging Cycle

ToysRUs.com has provided us with the first official images of five of the Marvel Super Heroes sets, 6865-6869. Some of the pictures are a bit small but you can just about make out how cool they are going to be. We can at last see who Captain America is avenging on his cycle (some mean robotic-looking guys...)

Thanks to lmasters123 for alerting us!

Who are Loki's minions? Really cool that we finally have official images of these sets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Meh. I'm not impressed with the vehicles. The minifigures, on the other hand, are spectacular.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Awesome! April 10 though? Might as well freeze myself until then.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

These all look great, better than most of the DC ones at least. Although I don't see any which will live up to The Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape yet. Still, we will have to wait and see.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Those bad guys sure look strange and uninteresting, same with some of the sets, so I may just bricklink the figures instead.

Edit:
Cannot wait until TDKR set/s!!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm surprisingly way excited for these.

@TheCahleySlash - How do you know that they're going to make TDKR sets?

I like the red sunglasses that they gave Hawkeye. He looks like the Ultimate series Hawkeye.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Well my hopes are completely shot for iron man, the head/helmet looks absolutely horrible.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The box art makes these seem sadly mega-blox like. That said, I'm incredibly exited to get these.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@ngclarkiv - It would make sense for them to make sets to coincide with the release of The Dark Knight Rises. They would be missing a trick if they did not.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I will buy all these sets. I could not care less about the sets... I just want the mini figs.

Gravatar
By in United States,

cool!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Augh, why did they keep the huge Iron Man mask? I don't think it looks good. Who are the villains in the Captain American set? I really like the Captain America and Wolverine sets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The villains are "the general" and "the generals foot soldier" according to brickepedia.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@ngclarkiv Because of this http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/The_Dark_Knight_Rises_set

Both pretty much the same- http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118046055
Lego and WB have partnered for several years producing Batman toys and videogames and will launch a new set of playthings around next summer's "The Dark Knight Rises" through the Lego Batman collection. "Lego Batman: The Videogame," published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, has sold more than 12 million units since 2008.

Thor looks AMAZING! iron man not so much, but still cool.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

You all over exaggerate so much!. The Iron Man Helmet doesn't look bad!, In fact I really like it. What do you expect, it's going to be a bit bigger it has a Mini-figure Head underneath it!, and can lift up!. Honestly people saying; ''Oh god!, Iron Man not so much ...'', ''Look's like Crap ... something my dog would have in the backyard'' ... Grow up and stop being so immature. Be glad you got a Mini-figure like that .....

Gravatar
By in United States,

Even though it's more movie based than comic based, I'm gonna' get these puppies!
Does Thor have his helmet? Can't see it anywhere.
Also with Iron Man...all they had to do was give him the torso armor like the CMF Hockey Player or the newer Series 7 Space Marine(?) armor and the helmet won't appear so bulky. Plus they could make it where you have various armors and helms for Iron Man's different looks/armors.
MAKE MINE MARVEL...EXCELSIOR!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Having not seen any of the movies, I can't comment on the accuracy, but as sets, they look really awesome.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Is that Deadpool in the chopper?

Gravatar
By in United States,

^ Yep. Black Widow and Hulk are going to be expensive.... Loki is going to be cheap.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Elli I agree 100 percent, the Iron Man fig mostly the best fig of the line!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Awesome. Well, I'm stoked for some TDKR Legos. I just didn't think that they'd release any from that genre of Batman because it's not a child related movie at all. They did release the the Tumbler with a cartoony Joker instead of the the Heath Ledger Joker so I guess they can kid down Legos. I hope they make the new batwing (go to http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/CoastToCoastStation/news/?a=49139 and scroll down for some excellent pics).

I could honestly care less with getting a Hawkeye minifig. I'm surprised they only made one set with Captain America. Hawkeye has two.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I agree with bluemodern - that iron man head looks terrible! It's way too big, why didn't they just print it?

Gravatar
By in United States,

i don't understand all the hate towards iron man either...i think he looks very LEGO-Y

darth vader's helmet is pretty big...just part of his lego charm!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I have a lot of hate for the Iron Man figure right now. It's just WRONG!

Gravatar
By in Norway,

Iron man looks cool, wish Loki had an unique face he appears to be using Bruce wayne face =[

Gravatar
By in Canada,

The sets look quite like the average LEGO product, which is good.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The minifigures are "marvel"ous, but the sets they come with are so dull that there's no point in buying them.

Gravatar
By in United States,

All of the sets look like great renditions of their movie and comic counterparts. The minifigures are awesome. The only thing i don't like is that we aren't getting a full helicarrier...much like the SW "mon calarmi home one" set.

Well, those aliens certainly aren't skrulls...and my zoom in on the box name of the quinjet can't make out what it says...so if not skrulls who????

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow! That new motorcycle piece is worth buying the whole set! I still can't stand Iron Man even if his visor goes up.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Where is Nick Fury? I was expecting him in the Quinjet.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I like the Captain America and Wolverine sets. I'm excited about the Spider-Man and Dark Knight Rises sets even though I probably won't get them. For the Superhero line I'm interested in the mini-figures not the sets. The Iron Man mini-figure is incredibly ugly. I've seen much better custom Iron Man mini-figures in brickfilms on YouTube.

Gravatar
By in United States,

for all of you who hate the iron man fig...i expect you to sell him cheaply on ebay once you purchase the sets...:)

Gravatar
By in United States,

The only set I will be buying is Loki's Cosmic Cube Escape (6867) and Wolverine's Chopper Showdown. Other than that... mehhhhh. Everything else is overpriced and underwhelming.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm not sure what to make of these yet. I think some of the figures are great. Iron Man isn't quite as bad as he seemed before but it's not quite what I was hoping for either. I'm fine with the figure I suppose, at least it allows for a minifig head to be present.

I'll get the Captain America set definitely, but I haven't decided if I'm willing to spend on the others.

Did anyone notice that the two Iron Man figures have different torsos? The Quinjet one has a circular "arc reactor" hole like the original suit, and the Cosmic Cube set has a triangular hole like one of the Iron Man 2 redesigned suits.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@sudorum Your "marvel"ous line, made me throw up in my mouth a little, but i admit it was punny.

I too think the Iron Man mask is just fine. No different than Green Goblin from the old Spiderman theme.

RE: TDKR Legos, Not for children? Precisely which marvel movie is for children? It seem the writers manage to mess up each one to prevent all marvel movies from being appropriate for kids, yet the merchandise for children keeps on coming... I am surprised they did not make Watchman pajamas.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

I can't believe that awful Iron Man helmet is the actual final version. I was of the impression that the much better Iron Man minifigure that was given out at the toy fair would be the final one and that the awful helmet one was just a pre-production version.. Yikes. Easily the worst licensed minifigure I've ever seen. Bobble-Head Man is more like it.

But at least those who went to the Toy Fair now know they can charge a 1000 dollars for their superior Iron Man minifigure.

Anyway, all these sets are pretty awful and uninspired, especially compared to the DC ones.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@ voypro: the line was pretty corny...but I couldn't resist.

Gravatar
By in United States,

no pleasing some people...if iron man came with just a printed head then people would complain there's no tony stark face to go with it

Gravatar
By in Canada,

The Wolverine set is by far the best.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The sets are just Meh, the minifigs are pretty cool though. I just wish the sets were based on the movies, not the soon to be released Avengers movie.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@vader34mt Two ways I can think of to fix the Iron Man fig are this 1. Keep the XL head but add a breastplate like the one from Agents 2.0, or do the same thing they do with the Bruce Wayne swap in the Batcave sets. I admit the current head could be much better but the people selling the NY Toy Fair figs for $350 astounds me, but eh, whatever

Gravatar
By in United States,

I don't get why most people dislike Iron Man's mask. In my opion I don't want to judge it until I've bought it. Anyways, the other sets look pretty good to me, so I plan on buying them.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Storm-Reaper me neither. For pete's sake it's Lego! This isn't the ultra-detailed toy! This is Lego...and so it's supposed to be funny in a way! @skipper1011, every lego set nowadays is overpriced. So i don't really understand your logic there. If you were following that, you wouldn't be buying Lego...

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I don't know why we were even given speech when the first sound that comes to mind after looking at these sets is "uhhg". Well, I enjoyed waiting for the images... I've possibly gotten more entertainment out of that than ever building these sets. It's 2012, and to be honest they're all poor. The minifigures are great, but the distribution decisions seemed to have been conducted by someone with memory loss. It's not like I'm ever at a loss for sets to buy, and this year I'll certainly be looking to spend as LITTLE as possible on this theme. I'm no fan of comic books, but having each minifigure would've been a nice option.

If I were a fan of Marvel/DC, and I also collected Lego, I'd be truely upset with the company.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

These sort of sets with those awful vehicles in do absolutely nothing for me. They just look like a re-run of the agents stuff. Am I being too picky? The figures however do look pretty good, I'll definitely be bricklinking them though. Don't want my Lego room cluttered up with more naff cars, helicopters and planes!
P.s. The Lord of the Rings stuff is going to Blow this out of the water!

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

^I Love my Lego Room too.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

The only one that interests me is the Wolverine set - the only one that doesn't seem to be related to the movie.

Gravatar
By in United States,

You have to remember these sets (except Xmen) are directly tied into the Avengers movie. Lego had to base the sets from the film and built the vehicles and playsets accordingly. I'm sure Lego did its best to select the most interesting bits to build into sets while also hitting the appropriate range of low-high priced sets. Also, trucks, jets, and copters are what kids want. Would have been nice to have a Bruce Banner alongside the Hulk and a Nick Fury in there somewhere too though. Perhaps next year we will get a few more sets based on the previous films that will allow for more variations

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

These sets look quite awesome...except the Cap. set is disappointing, no exclusive pieces except for his shield, wish the aliens had some sort of headgear at least :/

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think the Wolverine one is AWESOME, cuz it comes with DEADPOOL! I will be buying the truck set and the captain america one too, but I won't spend too much on them.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think these sets look amazing an let up on the Iron Man helmet. The Batman mask is almost as ridiculous as the Iron Man helmet. It is supposed to be a helmet, it is a helmet!

Gravatar
By in United States,

@stripe05 Me too, it looks just as it should! Just like batty's helmet, just as it should be!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Hmmm... I don't like MARVEL with all that superheroes and superpower so. But nice minifigures!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Is it me or does the Iron Man on the top right corner of the avengers sets look alittle better than his official form?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Look at the wolverine set. Did wolverine just cut that flick fire missile in half!!!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

These sets are okay, but I like the official Iron-man minifigure better with the big helmet. (come on people it's not that big and ugly)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Captain America Motorcycle set: The motorcycle is extremely anti-climatic, wasn't the picture I saw before have the big motorcycle? Captain America doesn't look particularly amazing, but I haven't seen all of him yet just his head so I'll just have to wait. His shield is a cool piece though. The 'Tron Alien' with the 'stationary rocket turret' is kinda sad. The floating thingamabob speeder is interesting though. I don't know what to think of the Aliens, they're just so gold and yellowish. For once I feel like there's too much detail. But I haven't seen the movie so for all I know they are excellent recreations of the bad guys.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm quite glad to see some real pictures. Being a huge fan of Iron Man I think the helmet is cool, really, be satisfied with what you get, I mean come on! They managed to get the faceplate to flip up! On a Lego figure!
I will certainly get the Quinjet, the S.H.E.I.L.D truck, cap's motorcycle and helicopter. I look foreword to more sets, after all it's amazing that we actually get Marvel sets! Come on guys! Get excited!

Gravatar
By in United States,

With Magneto, we have two Ian McKellen minifigs.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@QL Yeah, we do! Gandalf & Magneto!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I hate the MegaBlocks copy Ironman head.

Gravatar
By in United States,

There are only 4 Avengers sets here as the Wolverine Helo is from the terrible Wolverine movie. There may still be more Avengers sets to be seen such as retailer exclusives. I'm confident we'll get a Nick Fury. And I too am hoping that the Iron Man helmet still has a chance at being changed. I would have loved a hockey player kind of garb to better accessorize or a regular minifigure head.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I don't think that the X-Men set is from the Wolverine movie, considering that the minifigs look nothing like the characters from the movie as well as Magneto being included. He wasn't in the Wolverine movie. They have their cartoon costumes so this set is most likely coming from the comics or the cartoon television show. Is wish they would have gave Wolverine is mask that goes with the costume or his leather jacket, with the white sleevless T, and dog tag chain. That would have been more impressive. The magneto and deadpool minifigs look fantastic though.

There is a great possiblity that these gold looking guys on Loki's side could still be skrulls. Hollywood tends to change the look of the villains.

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

I'm really looking forward to these sets. I wish the cosmic cube was more unique-looking, I had hoped that it would be studless, but that's my only gripe (so a pretty minor one). The picture of Ironman in the Cosmic Cube Escape set actually makes his head look more in proportion IMO than previous reveals, and looks way more exciting and Fun than a printed head, so I'm reserving my final judgement to when I actually get to hold the figure in my hands. And remember guys, we are actually getting the opportunity to buy Marvel-based LEGO sets, we really are being spoiled with all these licences lately! :D

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think that they removed them.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

cool sets but i don`t be a fan of super heros

Gravatar
By in United States,

they were removed, I went to pre-order today.....and they are gone :(

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

anyone who is a fan of the new sets and the avengers, you can see the biggest set (quinjet ariel battle) in the newest avengers trailer. It also gives you glimses of the 'villans' in the cap set near the end of the vid.
enjoy!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPoHPNeU9fc

just adding- quinjet is at 0:40, and cap villans wizz past at 1:38 allthe way to 1:50
also you can compare the mini figs to the actual people :P
