Star Wars Promotion 3-4th May

Posted by ,

There is now a page on lego.com that says to come back at 12:01 on May 3rd for more information, but it would seem that the promotion will involve a poster of every SW minifig made which you are presumably sent when you place an order over a certain amount.

I think you can only view the page if your country is set to USA (and probably Canada) so I reckon us Europeans will be out of luck :-(

(Thanks to ljr7225 for the heads-up and WedgeAntilles for additional info)

By in United States,

It's a poster. I got an email from LEGO about it, and there's a picture of a poster (supposed to be all of or at least most of this promotion) and there's a picture of a poster with most/all of the SW minifigs ever produced.

By in United States,

That stinks. I wanted a minifig or something.

By in Canada,

I think that it probably is all of the star wars minifigures every made, because under the picture of R2-D2, it say: "Did You Know? More than 250 variations of over 150 Star Wars characters have been produced in minifigure form since 1999." That would be cool if it was that.

By in United States,

I just got the email as well. I'd be all about a poster, frame it up and put it on the wall of lego. The wife will love it. heh

By in Canada,

Of every star wars minifig ever produced, won't that be kind of big? Or maybe they are small pictures.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Have heard that the poster will be included with the next issue of the Lego Club magazine for Aussies....

Gravatar
By in United States,

The mini figures are amazing!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

is that a way to celebrate 10 years of star wars Lego??? sorry guys, but I'm a little bit disappointed...

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

Its allways USA that gets the good stuff...

Gravatar
By in Bulgaria,

sweet thanks lizardking for the help

By in United States,

I hoped it would be a sale or a free set, but I got my hopes too high. But, a poster would be interesting. I wonder if it would come with a checklist?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I saw the picture of the poster on the website but didn't think that would be the secret? I agree with you guys--a poster is SO anticlimatic! I thought they were going to celebrate 10 years by giving us a secret minifigure or introduce a secret set. I guess I had my hopes too high. But, when you think about all the money Lego has gotten from avid fans like us, how can you not expect something big? This is a let down, no doubt.

By in United States,

I'm sick of people saying "It's always only the USA", other countries get exclusive little sets with newspapers, the USA gets a lame poster.

It was supposed to be something really cool, a poster isn't cool.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Ya I just saw it. The poster looks really neat but I wonder how much you have to spend? Probably too much. You might be able to find one on ebay though, after they come out.

By in United States,

It's better than a keychain, in my opinion at least....

Gravatar
By in United States,

A keychain is at least a minifigure. A poster is a piece of paper that will be smashed to bits when it comes in the mail.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Where exactly is a picture of the poster, I can't find it? Thx!

By in United Kingdom,

I have to say, considering Lego is a european company, we do get the short end of the stick. UK hasn't had any exclusives as far as I know which hasn't then been available on the Lego website, and we pay often double the US price.

I'm sick of people in the US saying they're sick of people not in the US moaning about stuff.
Start paying double for your sets first.

Gravatar
By in United States,

i have several lego posters. this is getting me upset. lego is really getting cheap. they love to raise the prices. should be glad it is something. still disapointing.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Not my fault LEGO get's screwed over by taxes in the USA. It's called capitalism, the USA has more competition, and less taxes, so the prices need to be lowered. Plus this year LEGO fixed the pricing on some sets. Europe got a series of exclusive sets through a newspaper or something, that was talked about late last year. Also you have all the same sets online, and more LEGO related products that some of them are neat that are never made for the USA. Plus European airlines have AWESOME plane sets that you can't even buy on a plane in the USA. Buy a plane ticket, buy the European Exclusive airplane sets and fly over to North America to get your sets cheaper.

The big pirate ship is actually cheaper in the UK, Jungle Duel is still being sold in the UK, when it hasn't at any USA store in several months. A lot of the bigger sets are about the same prices now, or cheaper, the Farm is $17 cheaper, the Pirate ship is $25 cheaper.

By in United States,

I'll take a poster any day.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I wonder how it looks like...I want a poster can't wait!

Gravatar
By in United States,

You people don't even know if it is the poster!!! Listen people have been saying that they got it in email or whatever but that does on no accounts mean that this offer is a poster. Even if it is the poster maybe it will come with a randomly selected figure on that poster. Besides you don't know how much you have to spend to get that poster. For all we know it might be free. Am I making sense to anyone out there?

P.S. totally off topic but how do you pronounce your name Huw?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I think it's kinda like 'who,' but with an accent, kinda.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The "poster" that people are referring to is black with Lego Star Wars on the top left corner. "May the force be with you!" written on top. An array of Star Wars minifigures, possibly to scale, are shown on the poster 11 column x 15 rows. The bottom right corner has the 10 year anniversary Darth Vader occupying 2 columns x 2 rows. Looks pretty neat in my opinion.

By in United States,

Here's what was in my email:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/iabstract/3492066637/

The email does say it will be a "special announcement", not really indicating whether it will be an item, sale, etc. That said, it looks like it will be a poster. The image file from the email has "poster" in the name.

By in United States,

I got the legoshop newsletter yesterday and it showed a picture of a poster! I just can't wait to place an order!

By in United Kingdom,

> P.S. totally off topic but how do you pronounce your name Huw?

Like Hugh as in actor Hugh Grant. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hugh_Grant)

My name is the Welsh spelling.

By in Netherlands,

Gravatar

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Gravatar
By in United States,

@ I Like Lego:

Gravatar
By in United States,

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

i think its a pretty cool poster. But i can't buy anything now saving up for a... surprise.

Gravatar
By in United States,

rulerofdoom, same for me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

whats the surprise halfpenguinhalflego?

Gravatar
By in United States,

if he tells he will ruin the surprise. and by the way can some one tell me what the email says? and is this at the lego store to?

Gravatar
By in United States,

maybe its a poster and something special, because thats kinda lame and they are charging pretty high prices for the anniversary sets so maybe ita an exlusive, and if not oh well, will look forward for the summer clone wars and the brickmaster sets AT-TE and Gunship (mini)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Just a few more minutes to go and we'll find out what's the limited time offer :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

And I hope it's a free poster with any Star Wars purchase. That would be brilliant. Cheers!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looks like it's 25% off the USC Falcon (for $375) with an entry to win the Collectors Edition numbers 5,6,7 (in addition to the poster).

Gravatar
By in Guam,

abenamou is correct. It is in fact 25% of the UCS Falcon "for a limited time only"
To be more precise:
"Place an order through LEGOshop.com on May 3rd or May 4th and you will receive an exclusive LEGO® Star Wars™ poster, each individually numbered up to 15,000, celebrating the LEGO Star Wars 10th Anniversary and featuring over 160 minifigures that have appeared in a LEGO Star Wars set in the last 10 years. You will also automatically be entered to win a first-edition LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector’s Millennium Falcon™ - number 5, 6 or 7.*!"
As I live in the Great Southern Land this isn't available to us, that said I'm lucky enough to work with US Navy exchange sailors who allow me to order Lego in the States to them here in Oz.... 1st poster is on it's way:-)
Might place another order tomorrow....

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looks like it's not limited to Star Wars theme sets or a set spending limit, either. You can purchase any set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I just made 4 purchases and will be getting 4 posters! I'm pretty excited. The chance to win the millenium falcon is just a bonus. I already have one with a certificate and everything. To get # 5, 6, or 7 would be awesome!! Fingers crossed!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Milkdud35
I looked online and I think it says only one poster per order.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looks like they have minifigs that come out this summer sweet.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@ clone commander trainrex:
he probably did 4 separate orders.

Gravatar
By in United States,

1 poster per order...i made 4 seperate orders.
