It's too quiet in here since I disabled comments... I really haven't got time to implement moderation or to moderate them going forwards so I have re-enabled the comments system as it was previously.

Instead of moderation, I'll be applying a zero-tolerance approach. If you...

  • make multiple posts in quick succession
  • flame other users
  • use bad language
  • stray off topic
  • write posts that add no value to the discussion

...your comments will be deleted and your account will be suspended without warning. Let's see if we can all get along and play nicely in here!

By in Canada,

I agree with the people at brickset it has been really really quiet.
Although canceling out your account is a little harsh.

Thanks for enabling comments again Huw. I have to disagree, Clone66 - after reading some of the rubbish that was posted previously, account suspension is the only deterrent that can have any effect.

good. Thank you! account suspension is not harsh... it really teaches you a lesson about posting nicely (i've never been suspended by the way)! Thanks Huw!

By in Netherlands,

Why isn't it possible to write a review on the 10181 Eiffeltower set??

By in United Kingdom,

Thanks for noticing that ankejim, I think the : in the set name (1:300) was causing the database problems (probably due to sloppy code:-)) so I have removed it and it appears to be OK now.

Wow. Finally. This site appeared to be nearly dead (no offense Huw) for like a month. But at least it's better than FBTB which used to seem to update their site nearly every day, but hasn't for ages.

Yes, sorry about that. I had a busy summer :-)

By in New Zealand,

With all the new and exciting Lego sets being released this year and next, it means we need lots of dollars (or pounds or euros) to pay for them all. And this means we have to have real jobs, which in turn means we sometimes don't have enough time to do all the things at Brickset that we would like to do ;-)

Well, there goes my chance of becoming a mod. :(

By in United States,

Thank you Huw! This should help with more info on sets, shop at home and other news.

Hey, I e-mailed you about becoming a mod.. Can I still be one?

The commenting feature does need modding...

By in New Zealand,

So far, everyone has been playing by the rules which is great. I've only had to delete one off-topic comment.

YEAH! Finally, I think its just interesting to see what other poeple think about LEGO. More brains are smarter than one!

Sorry for the double post, and I don't want to get too off track but a MeSSAGE BOARD would be cool. It would make Brickset like a LEGO discussion site/ reviews. Where everyone speaks thier mind!

Is there a way to stop mulitiple posts which occur when you refresh the page after posting? I've fallen foul of that glitch before...Do you think there could be a general discussion - just one but about anything Lego...And a way of editing old reviews/posts. And can hyperlinks in reviews actually atart working?
