Summer Star Wars shipping in Germany

Jabba's Palace

German retailer Galeria Kaufhof is selling the summer Star Wars sets already and LEGO has added images of most of them to their server in preparation for selling them at shop.LEGO.com. So, with luck, it won't be long before we can all buy them.

I've added the images to the set details pages here at Brickset (example)

(Thanks to AirTrip2010 and grogall for the news)

This set really needed that fat dancing chick. It would actually look accurate because of the general shape of a minifig.

What a perfectly vulgar comment!

It did make me laugh.

By in United States,

I'm no SW fan anyway, but that set adds a new level to "bland". The Jabba megafig is the only good thing about it. Blech.
Like a billion fans have already cried out in anguish, "it needed a rancor pit".

I can't wait for that Jabba's Palace set. It is extraordinary for sure. Correct me if i'm wrong but this is extremely early for their release anywhere in the world including Germany. With any luck could U.S. be getting them earlier than August as well?

To be honest, the only thing I like about the set are is the minifigs. Other then that, it looks extremely "Really Lego?" They didn't have any depth in the set which the original set did have, the tower makes no sense what so ever, his 'lair' is kind of pathetic. No decorations. Overall the SW theme has been kiddie-fied completely. I mean look at the Twilek slave! She has a smile on her face, like she enjoys being a slave.

I am overall really impressed with the Jabba's Palace set, but the price is starting to through me off... $119.99 for 717 pieces? That comes out to 17 cents per piece. The only set I'll be buying from the summer SW sets is the Fury Class Interceptor. Pretty good design and a half decent price (I guess...). The FCI has 24 more pieces and cost thirty dollars less (which comes out to 12 cents per piece which is pretty good considering SW prices) . I seem to be the minority here when it comes to the Jabba's Palace.

@ Skipper, you aren;t the only one who is upset about the price. For $119.99 we should be getting a ship of some sort lie Imperial Frigate or the Turbo Tank which are 1000+ pieces for same price. As much as I like the set I myself can't swallow the price tag on it either. I think i'll save this set for christmas.

The Twi-lek has a double-sided head, one of which is a frightened grimace, so you can have a happy dancer OR a threatened slave.
I think the set is actually one of LEGO's best in a long while, it looks good from both sides - you get a feel for the vista of the place from the outside, and the meat of the interior where the action took place. However, for the price, i do think perhaps the dungeon where Chewy gets thrown in, and the Droid bay where R2/3P0 get refitted should have been included.
Of course, if they ever do attempt a Rancor pit, it would be nice if they design it to sit underneath this set... in which case the Chewy dungeon and Droid bay could feature in that set, under the stairwell which links between the two levels, and the outside would need to feature a rising rocky path to the door.
The bit that is beginning to turn me off though, from the whole range in general, is the figs are close to losing their LEGO charm completely, and just becoming movie accurate kenner-style micro figs... I'm just not sold on that gammorrean guard at all... and Salacious Crum is virtually identical to my old kenner figure. Keep it LEGO'd.

I think the price is understandable considering the 8 figures(I don't include the droid) that are well detailed and a reasonably sized set. The only thing I'm worried about is that retailers in the US get it so much later except for TRU, but they have $30 price increases on bigger sets. So sadly we'll probably end up with them out in July/August.

By in Germany,

I was in Cologne last week....
Jabbas Palace was already there, but the price was 139,99€...

By in United Kingdom,

These will probably be released at retail late June early July probably. Oh yeah, the new summer Ninjago spinners are on S@H by the way!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'm quite disappointed in the Summer SW sets, nothing that jumps out and immediately grabs me. That's a good thing though, I need to save some money!

By in United Kingdom,

That Jabba looks even fatter lol

By in New Zealand,

Can't say the palace is one I'll be picking up, the set looks fantastic but with the NZ price of around $250 that's a lot more than even the US or Euro prices ($250 NZ amounts to around $180 US or 150 Euro). It seems to be getting harder here each year to justify forking out more cash on what seems to be less value...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Damn it! Those new Ninjago spinners were on LEGO Shop in the UK, but now it's saying they're not available! Damn it!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Will Jabba's palace be around the £100 mark? If so then it is definitely on my buying list!
@Icarax123, guess it was too good to be true huh? :-(

By in Hungary,

Satele Shan has "three" faces?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I guess I didn't realize that the back of jabbas palace looks like the whole palace, the gate is great too...Legomatt pointed out that the line doesn't look legoey enough, but I thought the opposite when I saw that.

By in Finland,

Well I am definitely up for these mini-figs and Jabba - having not had these before they look cool :D
Expensive set but a lot of cool figs.

If anyone in Germany can get their hands on the Fury Class Interceptor to be sent over to the UK, please contact me through my profile because I need the set to finish off a MOC I've been working on. Here's the link: http://www.brickset.com/profile/?CapnRex101

@legomatt

I agree completely about your complaints on the figures. They are almost TOO detailed. The Boosk Leia looks like someone put an action figure helmet onto a LEGO minifigure. The same goes for the Gamorrean Guard. Hopefully 2013 will bring much improved SW sets and minifigures (AND PRICES!)...

Oh, I do like your optimism... I don't think LEGO Star Wars will ever lower its prices.... EVER. :/
