New sets and images at shop.LEGO.com

Palpatine's Arrest

Lots of goodies were added to shop.LEGO.com yesterday, as you'll see from the ribbon at the top of the page. In addition, images for 9525 Pre Vizsla's Mandalorian Fighter and 9526 Palpatine's Arrest have been added to the server although, as far as I can tell, they are not available to buy yet. The latter looks like a great play set. I'm not so sure about the Mandalorian Fighter but I suspect I'll end up buying it anyway...

I was very pleased with the price of some of the Mining sets; really looking forward to picking those up (assuming two European countries are listed first in the component list - for moral and economic reasons). B-)

By in United Kingdom,

Yeah, the Vampyre Castle is on the site at £79.99, but states 'unavailable in GB' (much like Palpatine's Arrest). I'm sure that they will be updated soon (and the rest of the Monster Fighters sets will be added).

I think both of these sets look excellent. Pre Vizsla looks almost as good as Boba Fett!

Those two Star Wars sets are available for purchase on the German S@H site.

Palpatine's Arrest is a must buy for me, but I'll pass on Pre Vizsla's Mandalorian Fighter.

When did the summer Ninjago sets come out? It says Epic Dragon Battle is available now too... well, this will make my Friday trip to Target better...

This set (Palpatine's Arrest) seems to be one of the first Star Wars sets to really focus on interior design in a building. It really captures the look and feel of Palpatine's office room. Though if it's $79.99, meh, I probably won't get it.

$80 for Palpatines Arrest? Time to wait for a sale then...

By in United States,

^^^ Sorry to burst your bubble but it's been confirmed for $90 USD. With the TRU markup it'll be even more...

$90?!?!?!?! I'm waiting for a sale on this one, and possibly Jabba's Palace.

EDIT: I looked on Brickipedia, and that's only Germany's price. Converting to USD, that's $75.

Brickipedia probably isn't a reliable source. From what I heard, it was $90. It is to be expected really, 6 minifigs, a small ship, also being store exclusive, that raises the price at least $30, and it is a licensed set, so more money.

But why hasn't anyone noticed the guy in the helicopter rescue set holding a banana?

Palpatine's Arrest playset has pin-holes on the floor pieces. Does this mean there will be future sets to attach to this to make the playset bigger?

Gravatar
By in United States,

^^ My guess is that the pinholes are so you can connect the landing pad in a few different ways.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

^^ You could connect it to Helms Deep and confuse the hell out of the figures!

By in United States,

It would have been icing on the cake if Palpatine's Arrest came with a sound brick which yells "POWER! Unlimited, POWER!" :D

^Or "Please don't kill me, please" and "it's treason then."

^Where's the ad in question?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It is nothing more than the back page of the LotR instructions. It just says 'The Hobbit, the journey begins' or somesuch and it's not clear whether it's referring to new sets or the movie.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@huw I'm guessing it is both. I can't wait for a Lego smaug.

Gravatar
By in United States,

^^^I saw that one. Thanks for clarifying.

My question is how did Lego manage to keep this set under wraps for so long, especially when we had preliminary pictures of some sort or another of the rest nearly six months early?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

^Has a Star Wars set ever actually only had an image revealed when it is on sale? Is this the first time?

By in Japan,

According to a member of staff at the Lego store, Westfield, Monster Fighters will be in store on the 13th or thereabouts. LotR sets are scheduled for August according to the same Lego employee. I think he was the store manager but I'm not sure. He seemed to know what he was talking about.

By in Norway,

Palpatine's Arrest is going to be sold for 999 kroners in Norway, which is about 165 USD. Can someone please shoot me? It's going for £59.99 in the UK though, so you guys should be celebrating over there.
I am not making this up. Lego has actually uploaded the retail prices for many countries on their S&H site. Graysmith mentioned that it's being sold on the German S&H site (which is true), and if you change region while you're looking at Palpatine's Arrest on the German site, then you will find the prices for most of the other countries.

By in Japan,

@Jacob Wilson: that's what I was told when I called the store on Sunday. However, from experience, they usually get more new items on Thursday than any other day, so I would check before rushing off to the shops. The employee I talked to may have been thinking about when they would be taking delivery rather than on shelves. John Lewis sometimes stock new sets ahead of Lego brand stores. But JL often have limited quantities initially.

By in Japan,

@brickmommy: my info only pertains to the Westfield as that's the store I visit most. Jacob Wilson is likely right that all Lego stores in the UK release the same day as the goods probably originate from the same distribution centre. My experience of JLs is limited to their central and greater London stores.

Please tell me that this does not mean we will soon be getting a 'Slave I with Cloud City Landing Platform' set. That came third in the TRU poll so if this set is anything to go by we may be seeing that in a year or two. Please Lego, redo Cloud City by all means, but not another Slave I.
