2012 Star Wars minifig checklist

Summer 2012 Star Wars sets minifig inventoryAs we've seen in the reviews posted so far, the minifigs in the summer Star Wars sets are excellent. Boba is superb, Amidaia is wonderful and Jabba is, er, I'm running out of superlatives... However I'm told that Darth Malgus in 9500 is even better. I guess I had better build it soon so we can be the judge of that.

In the meantime, take a look at this is a scan of a page from the back of the instructions showing all the minifigs that are in the summer sets (with the exception of those in the Planets, for some reason). Which one is your favourite?

The republic trooper. Wish he had a helmet though…

By in United Kingdom,

I'm going for Oola, I love her colour. Amidala is a close second.

By in United Kingdom,

9500 set is superb. A great line up this summer!

By in United States,

Darth Malgus!!! One of the best figures ever!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I am going to say Darth Malgus from this list, but if you were to include the other sets not included on here (the two exclusives and the planets) I would say that Pre Vizsla is equally good as Darth Malgus.

The Knights of the Old Republic sets and minifigures are all a "must have" for me.

By in Norway,

Lando, Gamorrean Guard, Boussh, Oola, and Jabba. Great new pants for Boba, but I'm more excited about the completely re-done minifigures. Why, oh why must "Jabba's Palace" be so extremely expensive?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Tough choice, but I'd say Boba. Well, no, maybe Jabba. No wait, maybe... AAARGH! They're all too good!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Chewbacca! joking! =P
No my favorite would have to be either the green Twi'lek dancer or those Sith troopers.

I'd have to go with Anakin... As if! Probably Darth Malgus. I do HATE the Amidala and Boushh Leia figures. They look TERRIBLE! I can't even begin to understand why people like them. Boushh Leia's helmet looks like an action figures. Just 'cause it has the LEGO name on it doesn't mean it's awesome. Amidala is also an over-detailed mess of a LEGO figure. Even you HUW, who only two or three months ago hated Chin**e plastic, have accepted Amidala's headpiece as great even if it is made of Chin**e plastic. Why can't LEGO be LEGO again and not some action figure wannabe? Why??!?!?

By in United States,

@Huw - will the new Jabba be considered a minifigure for Brickset's gallery?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

^Yes, we won't let Huw live unless he puts it in ;)

As for my favourite, well I don't know. So many are fantastic! What I can say though that this is my favourite year for SW minifigures. Will have to see whether next year beats it (for my wallet's sake, I hope it doesn't!)

@skipper1011: Man, someone's a negative Nancy. I guess you'll have to buy some city sets or go to m*** b*****.

I personally think that the new line-up looks fantastic. Boba Fett is easily my favorite. I think he has the most details and accessories but I won't judge the Darth Malgus minifig until I have it in my hands.

By in United States,

I love them all except for Padme. Padme is ugly.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Amidala and Oola.
Oh la la .... :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

@thor_odinson: I would drink a gallon of three year old milk before I would buy a M***B**** set! I'll stick with Lord of the Rings and the modulars... Star Wars prices and designs are starting to tick me off.

Gravatar
By in United States,

^^Agreed, the Padme is super ugly. That said, Lego was just copying the absolute worst character design the Clone Wars have made, that particular Padme variant was just awful on screen as well.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Boba Fett. Just a gorgeous minifig.

By in Malaysia,

Not a star wars fan, but I would get Amidala just so I can moc her to be a chinese empress :)

Here is my thoughts:
(I am doing the bad minis)

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/B%27omarr_Order : A 9-year-old spider made by swords for legs

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Chewbacca : A mold from 11 years ago. Printing from 7 years ago. Picking up what I'm putting down?

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Battle_droid : A totally missed opportunity to make a commando commander!

That's pretty much all my criticisms(XD)!

^ Dude, welcome to the real world! Star Wars is one of the most successful film/TV show in history that wasn't based on a book! Don't say their prices *BLEEP* you off with them having four seasons of a TV show and more than 20 movies! I love Star Wars, I've seen 10 movies, and thanks to Star Wars having a wiki, I found out even Yoda once had a Jedi master! My mom said I'm too young to be so opinionated, because I'm 10, but even at my age I can recognize your criticism easily! (Oh, wait, you can't like LotR because Attack on Weathertop's price is $15 too high (sarcastic)!)

@thor_odison: nice one with "negative Nancy"! I am so on your side with what skipper1011 is saying.

@byobu: I'll agree with you, they are my favorite females. I have to say, minifig Oola is actually prettier than real Oola!

Now onto my absolute favorite minifigure of the whole LEGO Star Wars year (drum roll):Jabba Desilijic Tiure!!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

@billybobjoe: Obviously Weathertop is over-priced(more like $20), but at least the ENTIRE line isn't over-priced like Star Wars! I love Star Wars as a franchise, but the are extremely lackluster in LEGO. Since your ten, you didn't grow up with the nicely priced sets that I grew up with. Nor did you grow up with the simple, classic minifigures of the late 90s. I may be a "Negative Nancy" but at least I am not a "Blind Optimist."

Even Piell is my favorite.

^ I don't want to get into this argument, because once, I had one with The Reviewer one night at around 2 AM and I woke up the next morning, the whole thing was gone except for one comment he labeled "do not delete"

Gravatar
By in United States,

^Are you talking about me? Anyway I think the the Queen Amidala, Oola, Boba Fett, and the New Boushh Leah are the best.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Those Sith Troopers are pretty sweet.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@billybobjoe: Your right. I have my opinion and you have yours, and lets leave it at that.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Boba all the way for me. Another strong year for sw figs (and lego in general really) looking forward to 2013.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Does anybody know if the issue where Even Piell's ear piece (for lack of better words) sits too far down his face and covers the eyes is widespread? I have seen a few reviews on Youtube and most seem to have this problem.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Hey Skipper, the word is "you're" not "your." Its a contraction of the words "you" and "are." The word "your" is the possessive form of "you."

I'm diggin' the new SW minifigures, especially how detailed they are. I can't wait to get my hands on Jabba's Palace because I think Boushh is going to be my favorite.

I agree that LEGO could do something different with Chewie. Maybe give him a different hair style; like the one he had most of the time in Empire.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Amidala, Oola, the Gammorean Guard and Boushh are my faves. But hey, you gotta like that green astromech.... (R3-D5)

Gravatar
By in United States,

They are all very good. The Leia in Boushh, Oola, Boba Fett, and Gamorrean Guard all look fantastic. The Nikto guard looks great too! Lego has really outdone themselves with minifigs this year. New R5 droids, the plethora of awesome Summer set figures, Jek Freaking Porkins..... LOTR, Avengers, WONDER WOMAN??? All of the minifigs are completely awesome. Well done, Lego, very well done.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Chills Oh Gosh! I usually am very particular about my grammar. Thanks for pointing that out!

@TheReviewer: Yes, remember? We were fighting about that Hulk promotional minifigure, which, on a totally unrelated note, I didn't get, we were fighting about it's size until I remembered I have the old TV show on DVD, and it was human size (old Hulk, before he joined the Avengers). We had that fight here and you can view the comments and find only carnage of the fight: http://brickset.com/news/article/?ID=2991#comments (please don't delete). Also, TheReviewer, I never meant to mean to you. Same with you too, skipper1011.
