Advent day 9

Posted by ,

Advent day 9In today's fire-themed City calendar, we have a, er, mechanic...

BrickLink says he's unique, although it's only the combination of torso and head that is; the component parts have appeared in sets many times before.

I do like the new baseball cap with curved brim, so it's great that there's a spare one of those.

Advent day 9In the Friends calendar, we have some cakes, milk, a cup and a plate. All useful accessories for Friends fans!

Advent day 9In the Star Wars calendar, we have a treat for minifig collectors. Like the mechanic, this 'Imperial Officer, Chin Strap' is unique to the calendar although the component parts have been used often in the past.

So, not a bad day, then...

City -- 8, useful minifig for populating your city.
Friends -- 7, nice parts, perhaps could have done with a few more though.
Star Wars -- 9, unique minifig, although not particularly interesting.

You didn't mention the officer's double-sided head! It has goggles!

Huw, have you thought about doing an average for each advent set afterwards to see what you'd rate the complete sets?

By in United Kingdom,

I rather like the Imperial Officer, but I am actually a big fan of the mini models so prefer those overall, especially when they are as good as the Gungan Sub from day 1, the Naboo Starfighter from day 7 and the Vulture Droid from day 8.

I got an extra wrench with my mechanic too. Love the little printed tools coming out of his chest pocket.

By in Europe,

Loved the starwars fig today. Looking forward to tomorrows. I don't have the other two so it's intresting to see what you get. I do really like the city one !

I put my Imperial Officer into an ornament, looks great on the tree. The Lego holiday ornaments that are normally filled with red, green, or gold bricks are sold empty at the store so you can fill them with pick a brick. But the brilliant thing is they have an insert with 4 studs that you can attach a minifigure to.

It's annoying that the droid and the officer don't come with any weapons. And with both minifigures today, they could have put some more interesting leg pieces on them, especially with the mechanic they could have give him some tools or something.

By in Norway,

This year we have a lot of spare parts already. Each fig had a spare hat/cap/helmet so far.

Friends get Milk & Cookies to leave out for Santa!

Guess we know who will be getting good presents this year ;-)
