Most read news articles

Posted by ,

Prompted by Brothers-Brick's list of most read articles, I thought I'd create one for Brickset, which I can do for the first time now that I'm recording article views:

The list gives a good overview of the biggest stories of the year, doesn't it. It seems that news about forthcoming sets and launches of the LEGO Exclusives create the most interest, which I suppose isn't particularly surprising.

"which I can do for the first time now that I'm recording article views" You didn't have access to IIS logs?

Also, I don't think the measure you're using now is reliable: plenty of times I merely read an article on the front page without clicking through. Maybe you could add a "Like"-button of sorts?

^ I do, and Google Analytics, but they'd take far too long to trawl through to get such a list.

The numbers themselves are not accurate, but their relative values are a good indication of the articles people are most interested in, given you need to click through to read the comments.

What are the 'read' figures for the top 10 then Huw?

22,000 for Minecraft, 11300 for Arkham Asylum, but as noted above they do not tell the whole story.

@tmgm528 Wouldn't be surprised if that page was linked to from "outside". I've pointed people to that news story, wouldn't be surprised if others have done the same.
