New Argos catalogue out tomorrow

Posted by ,

BrickFanatics has reminded me that the new Argos catalogue comes out tomorrow and I'm pleased to see that Rich has posted scans of the LEGO pages because, like many of you I suspect, I won't be venturing to my branch to pick one up in the morning given the weather conditions.

It's chock full of new goodies, of course, plus a few other offers and snippets of information:

  • LEGO City HERO Rewards, which seems to be some sort of token collect in exchange for City related items (probably tat!)
  • The Umbarran MHC and Razar's Chi Raider are Argos exclusives in the UK
  • TMNT sets are being launched on 15th Feb.
  • Series 10 minifigs out in May

Rich also says that until 26th Feb, spend £30 or more on LEGO in store and receive a £5 voucher, which is a 16% discount if you spend exactly £30. Not too shabby until something better comes along later in the year...

See the scans at BrickFanatics.

By in United Kingdom,

I am glad to hear that the Umbaran MHC is the Argos exclusive, and it looks like the new Superman and Iron Man sets are coming out in April judging by the scan of page 1607.

Nothing about Galaxy Squad :(

I checked about Series 10 Minifigs, but the silhouette and the color scheme are mistakenly as Series 8. And also why the color scheme for Series 9 is red?

According to that 42000 grand prix racer is only to Argos or at least UK Argos, hoping its not exclusive to Irish Argos.

I picked up a copy on my way home from work last night. Interestingly most themes only show a selection of the sets available and suggest you look online to see the full range, with the exception of Friends which seems to have almost every set from Wave 2 and 3 in the Catalogue and a double page spread. Star Wars only has a single page this catalogue for example.

No catalogue love for creator? I'll have to check their Web site, although not surpassingly its completely dead right now. Interesting to see the two small technic sets can be combined, one assumes with official Lego instructions for the combo model. Is this a new feature?

Awesome! I'm desperate for the MHC so hopefully I can pick it up sooner. I think this exclusive tradition is a great way of acknowledging shops and stores for their committed sale of sets. I'm really annoyed the site's dead though...

I think the tokens are to unlock features in the new Nintendo Lego City game

The site is back up and I found this as one of the special offers for the Excavator Transporter

"2 Special offers

1) Free £5 Argos giftcard when you spend £30 on Lego. Please note this promotion is in-pack and will not show in your trolley. Offer ends 26 February 2013.

2) Purchase any item for £9.99 and over from the LEGO city page to receive a sticker in pack and a booklet from the till. Collect 4 stickers, send the book off and LEGO with send back a gift. Please note this is an in-pack promotion and will not show in your trolley Offer ends 26 July 2013."

The 'gift from LEGO' is probably a polybag. The new sets don't actually show up, aside from LoC and Friends.

Until I saw the catalogue yesterday I assumed the TMNT sets were out this month (I thought I saw a promo at the back of the LEGO club magazine advertising them as coming January 2013, or maybe that was the back of the NYCC figure card), can't wait to get my hands on that Krang and Michelangelo set!! (Gonna get all the bigger sets too, eventually.) The new animated series is getting me psyched up for the LEGO versions...

Looks like it's in a transient state at the moment: the 'Browse all LEGO' link shows a lot of rubbish as well as LEGO, and broken product blocks, too, and as you say none of the new sets are listed on the site yet. Searching for them yields no results, either.

Creator sets are in the catalogue, page 1606, that page is missing from the scans.

Bit confused about the rewards thing.

We bought the museum set, and it had 4 reward stickers stuck to the front of the box. They say they need to be stuck in a CITY HERO Rewards book, and once you have 6 stickers you can send them off to Lego for a LEGO CITY gift.

We were not given a rewards book, and the stickers are stuck to the front of the box, and impossible to remove, so unsure if they're expecting us to cut up the boxes !

I am very glad to hear about the new Argos Catalogue being released. However, I haven't been able to get down to my local Argos Extra store thanks to the snow and icy weather conditions! Why does the weather have to ruin everything for you!
