I think this looks great. Love the blue. Is it a set that is going to be available at retail?

That's looking cool, and so much better than the original set, which I didn't buy because I thought it looked so naff.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I passed on the original because it didn't have enough truly Technicy details for me (that is, mechanisms), but this version just looks so much better that I don't think I'll be able to pass it up a second time.

By in United States,

Will it just sell as the body or the body and chassis?

Gravatar
By in Iceland,

notice it has brick built chairs!

By in United Kingdom,

I suspect most of them will be gone before they hit the worldwide launch! If so, dare they make more after saying it is limited to only 20,000?

"i am going to have to get 2 sets. one to build, and one too sell. i am preetty positive i can get some good cash off this set, seeing its limited."

I hope they stick a limit on the number people can order precisely so we don't get people ordering huge numbers of this set to resell... a couple is fine (I bet many will buy an extra one just for the blue and metallic parts) but ordering extra just to resell later on a limited edition set is just unfair for fans who can't pick one up on its release.

This design looks way better than the original orange-black-white crawler!
Hopefully one will be able to order just the parts needed for the different bodywork. I wouldn't buy the same crawler twice just for the bodylift and winch.
It might have been really cool to put some new type of soft LEGO Crawler tires on this new release, not just new wheels (like the aftermarket 1,9'' tires that look so good on the Crawler or Unimog)

By in Germany,

@cody6268: It will be the complete set (body and chassis).

And I hope that it will be limited purchase as well. Buying one to resell it is not what it is made for.

I notice it has the new panels for the lower part of the doors like on the new crane's beam. Looks good to me but as I have the original, will have to pass on this :(

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

that one looks fantastic! a must buy if you ask me!

Gravatar
By in Venezuela,

This is really an amazing model!!!!, can't wait

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Shut up and take my money!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Looks to be a rally car IMO. It should of been lower. Still a good model though.

By in United States,

I do like the original crawler. It is a quite interesting build and manages better than I expected. I enjoyed its built and using it too.
LEGO seems to have made a very nice job keeping the original design shape and features from the original submission. The color is great!
I wonder how much this adaptation would cost considering the original crawler's price tag and this one incorporating some new features and metallic colors.

The front part has a nice similarity to the Land Cruiser made by Sheepo on CUUSSO which just received its 10000 supporters. I will also get me one of those when they come out ;)

By in United Kingdom,

@Wiseman_2 so it is OK for you to buy an extra with the intention of selling it, but not for others to buy extras to sell as they will stop fans from being able to get it?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Whats the pricing on this vs. the original?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

That is a really attractive model, I am impressed, I will wait and see what the price is like, but am certainly considering it for purchasing.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

WANT!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Amazing build. If only Cuusoo worked this efficiently.

By in United Kingdom,

I was going to get the Crawler next week with my 30% showcase reward, but seeing this has changed my mind, I will get something else and wait for this.
Will it be a first come first serve thing as I bet 20000 wont last long?

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

^ If I'm not mistaken, you will still need the 4x4 crawler. The set you see above, will only be the body, not the chassis.

Gravatar
By in United States,

^No, the set is for the entire model, not just the body... This also may explain why TLC hasn't released the L motor and the servo motor for public purchase yet...

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

That would be a pretty cool 70s car without that stupid looking bigfoot chassis stuck on the bottom.
Not that I don't like it, mind.

Nice to see a technics set representing a vehicle that's a 'historical' style of model.

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

^ the 70s are historical??? Dude!?

Oh Nice truck too.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I really hope this is 1 per customer tbh. Really no need for it to be any higher than that.

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

^^^ Yeah well unless you're in KawaKawa or somewhere like that where 70s cars live on :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm really hoping for a less feature rich / parts intensive version of the CUUSOO Land Cruiser by Sheepo to make production. This version of the 4x4 Crawler is still ugly in my eyes.

By in United Kingdom,

@Wiseman_2 it makes me sick reading that people like you hope to buy an extra to sell to make cash. Its a limited edition so allow others the chance to buy it at the RRP instead of hawking it on ebay at an extortionate Buy Now or put in an auction so that you hope the final sale price is WELL OVER the actual retail price in bids...also, your comments about 'limiting sales' is a bit hypocritical given you plan on buying an extra to 'make some cash'...

By in United States,

20k seems low to me. I emailed LEGO ("Won't it sell out before a lot of people are able to buy it?"), and they responded with:

"I can definitely understand your desire to obtain item 41999; it looks like it is going to be an amazing build! Unfortunately, we don't currently have any details about the number of sets that are going to be produced. We typically will not receive that kind of information, as the numbers can always change. Also, we are unsure whether there will be preorders for the set, as well. Typically, the number of sets made is based off of many different criteria, such as where the set will be sold, expected interest, etc."

By in United States,

WTF is this atrocity??? No offense, but I don't get the unnecessary lifting of trucks. Is it because the owners have been shortchanged in other areas? I mean really! That's not attractive. To each his own. But seriously, major shortcomings going on! Good luck with that. Cheers.
