14ct 'Mr Gold' minifig found!

Posted by ,

There's discussion in the forum about someone having found a real 14ct gold 'Mr Gold' minifig in a box of series 10 minfigs in Hungary, and something about a ticket for a LEGO factory tour.

No, I didn't believe it at first either, but it appears to be true. Check out the thread in the forum.

By in United Kingdom,

I just read Charlie & The Chocolate Factory and understand finally why they designed Mr Gold this way.
So if you win and happen to be a 'bad' Lego fan who then tries drinking obsessively from TLG's magical styrene lake do you get sucked up the factory pipes or perhaps later rolled away by minifigures?
Happy April Fool's Day Huw! :P

Haha!
If the minifigure would be 14ct gold you could just weigh the packages to find Mr. Gold. So it HAS to be plastic!

Another April Fool. Though the rarity of the Real Mr Gold is a joke as well. It almost makes me want to stop collecting the Minifigures, but then I just bought two new Lego Minifigure cabinets

Good one. :)

So is the part about there only being 5000 gold figs (the real ones) true? If so that is definitely going to make it rare. And will it be a 61st figure in a case, or will it replace one of the other 60? If the former, a good scale should be able to detect it...

You know it's a good prank when people repeatedly ask if its real. :)

I know this isn't a solid gold minifig, but is the one in the picture an actual Mr. Gold (1 of the 5000), or is it just one from some promotional material photoshopped into the background?

Looks Photoshopped to me.

The anagram title is awesome. "DropFlailSFOP"? Awesome. Samian, if you really bought this you're gonna be losing out big time. Unless you're both the same person...
