LEGO Minifigures Series 1 {Random bag}

Thanks to the eagle-eyes of Brickset member michaelvader ... the Collectable Minifigures minisite is now up & running at LEGO.com, offering images, character biographies, downloads (wallpapers, posters, etc.) and a couple of on-line games (only one of which is currently playable).

Find the minisites here: US | UK | Germany.

The excitement is certainly building !!!!

Nice one, michaelvader, thanks!

I think my set of fig images is still exclusive: the site seems to be using the rendered cartoonised versions (but correct me if I'm wrong)

I'm getting so excited... so much that I'm calling my LEGO Store today just to check up on their release status in the US

Cool site, I like the little write-ups they have.

@Huw: Just FYI, the link to the 'UK version', while the text is correct, actually links to the US version (the /en-gb/ is /en-US/ in the actual link url).

Any one notice the Zombie poster is missing? :(

Talk about excitement! I hope so much they'll be out in Belgium as well ^^

Some pretty funny stuff, although I'm not sure if I like how they try to make silly cartoon characters out of these figs. I would prefer it if they were exactly what they are supposed to be. I mean, a harmless zombie? A super-creative robot? A skater who is faster than a ninja?? That's just wrong.

Anyway, does this shed any light on when these will be released in the US? I looked all over the site and couldn't find a release date.

@Okay - I think it's funny that they're going against the 'preconceived notions' that we would all have about these characters, playing completely against-type on some of them. That said, I don't mind because A: There is no source material that it stems from, and B: I was a child of LEGO before backstories were important. So to me it doesn't affect the imagination play value. I can see why they did it, though, because with the multiple entertainment options kids have today, they could use a little kick in the imagination pants.

The only date we've seen for release in the US is the one that several on-line retailers have been quoting - "June 2010". It has been reported here previously.

cool site, the game is kinda fun. the biographys dont make any sense though, its like lego is doing oppisite day,
a naija thats not really a ninja, a zombie that doesn't eat brains, and a diver thats absolultly nuts??? it doesn't make sense, but i guess its geared towrds littler kids.

Great mini-site, can't wait for the release, going to my local TRU first thing in the morning,

Gravatar
By in United States,

I didn't think LEGO would bother making a mini-site! Do you think they might make a third series.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

IIRC, they have already said that if these two series are successful (but what Lego considers 'successful' is anybody's guess!), it will become an ongoing product line with regular releases. Personally, I can't wait :-)

I simply cannot wait! I am going first thin in the morning! The excitement is building!

I find it a little odd that the US release date is later (June) when the US and UK versions of the minisite are revealed simultaneously. No offense to those who keep mentioning the June release date, but I won't believe it until I go to my local Lego Store this Saturday morning and not see the minifigures.

By in United States,

I've done preorders on action figures and such a lot. I think you can expect them earlier than "June" as most preorders sites say. A lot of times I would get my stuff weeks earlier than what I was told to expect them by. Who know's, maybe May 1st I get an email saying my case has been sent.

Hmmm....According to the English sites the Red Indian fig is male, and on the German site it's female :S

By in Australia,

I'll try to collect them all! Are they sold at any Australian major store? (e.g. Big W, K-Mart, Myer, Toys R Us, etc)
