Shell promotion hits the Netherlands

Posted by ,

Google Translate says "Tank least 20 liter of Shell fuels, buy a bottle of Shell Helix or spent at least € 5 in the shop and start your collection! Try all six unique, limited available LEGO Racers to catch." I think we can get the gist...

Click the image for more information. Thanks to Gert-Jan for the news.

Update: it's also started in Chile.

To make it slightly easier to read:

"Fill up with at least 20 litres of Shell fuel, buy a bottle of Shell Helix or spend at least €5 in the Shell shop and start your collection of exclusive Lego vehicles! Collect all six of the unique LEGO racers while available in store."

Still disappointed being in one of the only Asian countries never to get this promotion. Then again, I still have a complete set, although some aren't very mint...

By in Netherlands,

Thanks for the tip Huw!

However even though Shell is a Dutch company I never tank there. One litre Euro95 at Shell costs €1,84, but that same type of petrol/gasoline costs €1,67 at e.g. Makro. So if I fill her up, and throw in 50 litres, I am paying €8,50 less when I tank at a discount instead of a so called premium gas station. So Royal Dutch Shell can kiss my ass buy byeoooo!

B.t.w.
If I have read it correct they say/write that you can also just spend €5 in their shop and are then are entitled to a Lego racecar.

ps.

Non the less it is off course fantastic of Brickset to inform us, I don't have the feeling that there are that many Lego promotions in The Netherlands in comparison to e.g. the U.s.A. or the UK, where The Sun tabloid used to hold lots of these Lego promotions, that is before all the anti topless-page3 girl fundamentalists got their way.

Does anyone know if they will let you buy the entire series in one go? I don't really want to spend €7 on one polybag. This would also mean I have to travel abroad to get them as well...

By in Netherlands,

You can buy all the sets in one go for 5 euro a piece. If you spend five euro's in the shop they cost 2 euro. It's a bit pricey for, I have to admit, pretty awesome sets with a low piececount. I got the first 3 in one go.

I just got the formula 1 car, quite a nice one i must say, even though there are a LOT of stickers, and i'm not a big fan of those. Luckily they don't cover multiple parts. I was verry surprised at the strength of the pull back motor, it really goes quite fast! Luckily I could get it at 2 euro, and i dont mind tanking at shell, i don't have to pay for the gas :P I think i'll alsoget the truck, but i'm not sure yet.

By in Australia,

These sets are in all the shell stations in Australia ($8 AUD - around 5 pounds each), and by the look of things not selling that great.
My local gas stations have 100's on the shelfs (been running for 5 weeks now).
Sometimes I think I'm the only person buying them!

Yes, they are $8 or $6 if you buy $40 worth of V-Power fuel, and they don't seem to be selling that well, I have a full set that the kids built and am about to find the last 3 to complete a set I will leave MISB. Some stations did have the models I needed when I got the first set, so ask them, they may have the alternates out the back.

They are pretty nice in my opinion.
