Bilbo Baggins minifig available in AustraliaPosted by Huw, 02 May 2013 04:04The Hobbit Blu-Ray with blue-jacketed Bilbo Baggins minifig is now available in Australia, exclusively in BigW. Still no sign of it in Europe, as far as I know... :-( Thanks Sibera_lee for the news. 18 comments on this article By Zordboy in Australia, 02 May 2013 06:05The Minifigs series 10 are also available in Australia, as of this afternoon.I found them, on my way home from work. I have to tell this story because, although it's not relevant to the Bilbo Baggins figure, it's just so awesome that I doubt anyone will believe me. There's a Myer, in the same shopping centre where I work. So I find the box of minifigs (box and packets are all gold coloured), and somebody has gone through and written on the back of each packet, what the figure is inside. Seriously. I got a full set of all 16, and it took me ten seconds. The women behind the counter said something that a higher-up in the toy department had looked through, and decided to go through and figure out what was in each packet, to save fans and consumers some time. This person, whoever they are, deserve a freaking medal. That is all. (no Mr Gold, though. But I honestly don't care that much. I can live without him. I'm more excited by Medusa, the little puppy with Paris Hilton, and the seagull with the ship captain) By duilim in Australia, 02 May 2013 06:38^great news, do you mind sharing which Myer that was at? I'm getting a little sick of feeling through the packets myself...... By sirob in Germany, 02 May 2013 06:45hmm they deliver only in down under By jockosjungle in United Kingdom, 02 May 2013 07:38Is this a new release in Australia or has the DVD been out a while? By whosasking in Australia, 02 May 2013 07:40..... That cant be right must be typo must mean Austria not Australia, jack happens in Oz By rawbob in United Arab Emirates, 02 May 2013 09:33is there anyone in Australia that would be willing to purchase one of these and ship it to me? I take it this is the correct region for the UK as UK and Australia are commonly both region B By JohnnyB in United States, 02 May 2013 14:14imo... Don't say the locale in public... Because of the odd chance someone there gets schtick for it. By Almaras in United Kingdom, 02 May 2013 17:14@Jockos jungle - It came out officially on the 1st, but I picked mine up the day before. By Cmdr_Roy in Australia, 02 May 2013 20:29Well there is my plan for lunchtime today! By TeufelHund in Australia, 03 May 2013 01:33Yeah - awesome - I bet if he found Mr Gold he would have just written that on the back and stuffed it back in with the rest of them.Maybe I'm cynical but I can't help feeling it wasn't alturism that initiated this behaviour. :-(Back on topic - the Hobbit minifig looks OK but I couldn't justify paying $15 more for it at Big W when JB-Hi fi are selling the same thing minus the minifig for so much less. By Huey1 in Australia, 03 May 2013 02:32The same thing without the minifigure is only $25 at Target (until the sale ends). Sure, the exclusive version of Bilbo is nice, but that's a $13 difference before you include the postage expense. By Firedogg in Australia, 03 May 2013 03:27Just been and checked out my local Big W. They've got heaps of stock of the BluRay with Minifig for $44.If anyone outside of Australia really wants a copy, I'm more than happy to buy some and post out. Postage cost to UK is $17.70BluRay ($44) + Postage ($17.70) = $61.70, about £40 each.(I know the Big W website shows $38, but that's the online price, then you have to add $4 postage. Marginally cheaper and you have to wait for delivery).Anyone who is interested, just contact me through my profile.Michael By Cmdr_Roy in Australia, 03 May 2013 05:39Its $38 in store, the one i went to had signs up and a mate of mine at a different store scanned it at $38 as well (he had no $38 signs). But yeah international postage is a stupid idea, it will get to the UK.Im watching it right now :) By Almaras in United Kingdom, 03 May 2013 05:45^Where abouts? Mine was $44 :/ By chrisaw in Australia, 03 May 2013 06:12Yeah I bought mine on Monday for $44! I guess patience is a virtue, but when it comes to LEGO, there's no such thing! The figure's nice though. By tinusv in Netherlands, 03 May 2013 13:42I'd better ask any of my Australian friends to get one for me, or alternatively use them as proxy, if I order online. Luckily Blu-ray regions in Australia and Europe are the same. By Alepou in Australia, 04 May 2013 18:35At my BigW store the 3D version blu-ray without bonus minifig was $44, the Blu-ray minifig version was $38. By Master cheef in United States, 31 May 2013 07:20I don't like the hobbit is a wimp he can't even wipe his own ass! Commenting has ended on this article.
