Jedi Defender-class Cruiser

Images of 75025 Jedi Defender-Class Cruiser, the only known Star Wars set to be released this year that we didn't have pictures of, have been uncovered by grogall. I've added the main image to the database, and you can find more images at, among other places, Groove Bricks.

This looks absolutely brilliant to me! Great Minifigure selection, and the ship looks lovely.

This set really looks great, nice colors and cool figures. i noticed at websites that this is $100! Is this true? Also, Is it just me, or have The old republic sets been unnaturally expensive? Also, will this set be released along with the star hopper. And my last question, will there be another starwars UCS or was the lord of the rings tower our UCS model.

I think this will be a exclusive with Star Hopper. I will try to get this.

The Old Republic sets are rather impressive so far.

By in Canada,

I was blown away when Lego decided to release Old Republic themed Starwars sets, and surprisingly I haven't bought a single one yet. I'll certainly add this to my 'wanted' list. Not from a lack of trying; I doubt I'll ever get a better deal on this set than what some Americans are calling "too much money". I'm not a minifigure hoarder, but I do appreciate the variety of expanded universe characters outside of the main starwars trilogy.

This is a very cool set I may purchase it...

A must purchase for me.

I don't like Star Wars LEGOs, but that looks great! Nice job LEGO designers.

Umm, yeah, that is a great looking ship. A pleasing mixture of colors, what appear to be good features, a decent size, excellent likeness to the source material, and some great minifigs! Just added to "Sets I Want." :P

@grogall - I commend you. It seems you spend your days hunting down images for the Brickset Community to enjoy. Thanks!

By in Germany,

This has been sitting on my "Wanted"-List since it was announced, and was one of my favourite ships qhile playing SW:ToR. The LEGO-Rendition does not disappoint, the design is as awesome as its Sith Counterpart, and the Minifigs are Top-Notch. This will probably be my favorite Set of 2013.

Nice way to re-use the Luminara Unduli minifigure molds. Nice to see that fashion styles didn't change much over 5,000+ years in the SW universe...

By in United Kingdom,

Yes! I have been waiting for this set for a long time. I made a custom version of the Jedi Knight's torso to represent my in game Jedi Guardian, and hoped they would release an official version.

I am so stoked to see this set!

I wonder what will happen to the one put up on Cuusoo.

By in Australia,

Magnificent!! I'm just hoping this isn't going to be a TRU exclusive......

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I really like this set.

I'm really into these old republic sets and intended on collecting them as many as I can get.

By in United States,

Quite a diverse minifig selection. I know none of the characters, not even by name, but they look awesome. A Mirialan, a Zabrak, a Sith Trooper, and some other Sith! It's nice to see the Mirialan headdress in another color, too. Is this the first female to have an olive green head? I think so. The ship itself and its price tag I'm not so stoked about. I liked GlenBricker's better, and his idea of trans-blue minifig trophies. The perfect set would be this one's minifigs, his ship and "holograms".

Awesome! Thanks Grogall!

P.S. @grogall- Can you put your magic image-finding abilities to work and find the Ninjago 2014 sets pleeeease? :P

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I have no idea what this ship relates to, and probably will never read/see/play the original Star Wars material but this is just NICE. Gotta have it, there goes my budget.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Any chance we could see a side-by-side of the official set vs. Glenbricker's awesome Cuusoo model?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Lovely ship, and the figs are decent.

By in United States,

So now we have green, blue, gray, black, brown, and RED hoods for minifigures.
Lego you are mocking me alot more since mr gold and now a new hood.
Are you ever going to make a white hood?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Not only because I am crazy for anything LEGO The Old Republic, but also because I'm even more crazy for anything LEGO Corellian (excluding the Falcon). This set has both of those things, and my goodness, isn't it beautiful...

Gonna buy the first one I see, don't care what the price is.

@DarthBrickus I couldn't agree more with your comment, especially that last bit. It's already my favorite set of the year. :P

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@48bones48 There was a red hood before in the CMF range, but I do believe DARK RED is a new one, and likely to be expensive if it's only in this set... I second your request for white.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

When will you add the high resolution pics of all other Star Wars summer 2013 sets? The high resolution pics have been there for a long time but they are still not in the Brickset database...

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

@48bones48: I was thinking the same thing but it looks like this one is dark red. A normal red version has appeared in the collectable minifigures red hood character in series 7. If this is a dark red one it will be more than welcome!
Known Colors (http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=30381):
Black (43)
Brown (4)
Dark Blue (2)
Dark Bluish Gray (5)
Dark Green (4)
Red (2)
Reddish Brown (22)

EDIT; looks like Andhe beat me to it :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Andhe I forgot about the red hood which is werid because i have that minifigure on my display case

Gravatar
By in United States,

I do not know if you read me but I think your project needs to be taken down from Cuusoo.

Gravatar
By in United States,

^Do you say that because you don't like it (which is rude and mean, Glen's already acknowledged the official one on his CUUSOO project page), or because now that there's an official one, the other one doesn't stand a chance (which is true, but I still like that one)?

P.S. Who thinks they should have used the included Zabrak's horn piece with ponytail printing when they made the Sugi minifigure?
EDIT: I spy a Sith Holocron....The Jedi Consular (whatever her SWTOR name is) is my favorite minifigure. She looks exotic and cool with the exclusive white headdress. Why are all of the characters unnamed? I know the Zabrak is Kao Cen Darach, but LEGO doesn't say so.

Gravatar
By in United States,

That is definitely a dark red hood. That's awesome. I third the idea for a white version too.

I know nothing of ToR, but this ship and the others actually look really cool. I think TLG did a great job with them. Since I know nothing about them, I'm not one to collect them. But if I had extra money to lay down, I would pick up all three. The figures also are amazing looking. Granted a set this size with only 4 figures and no one seems upset by this? It's similar to the Friends line where no one seems to care about only getting one or two figures in expensive sets, but with regular system sets people are up in arms about not getting more and more figures. At this price, I would expect more personally. One hundred dollars is a lot of money for any set, especially one that isn't as well known. But maybe the Sith Fury sold well enough to justify it.

By in United States,

It is quite beautiful and I for one am ecstatic that this has finally been revealed.

For those wondering what will happen to the Cuusoo project, well, my guess is Nothing at all.

Only one project to my knowledge has ever been taken down in Cuusoo for matching a set that reached production after the Cuusoo project was launched (http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/7949). There are however multitudes of examples of this not happening:

TMNT, Rancors, Baggend, TUMBLERS, the Bat, Tower of Pisa, etc...

I think that the archiving of the Villa was likely an issue of growing pains for Cuusoo. They have likely realized that it really does not matter if they let a project continue on its way to 10,000 and it would be a LOT of work to check the entire Cuusoo library every time a new set comes out and try to figure out if this is "too close" or not. This is such small potatoes in the grand scheme of Cuusoo.

Fact is when the "rumors" started support for the project was severely impacted. The Defender is currently on a 9 year trend to get to 10,000. Once this is available it will take another hit I am sure. So, this is years away from maturing and SWTOR will likely be radically different as time goes on. Who knows, when it reaches 10,000 it might be "just the right time" for a reissue OR, and this I think is more likely, they will decide there is not enough interest in the ship.

To clarify my view point. I started the project to get a Corellian Defender made. This was before the first SWTOR sets were announced. I would certainly be happier if the Defender had my name on it and I was getting a little spending cash on top of it but I am very happy to see a quality build produced in any form.

I can say though that I am having an awesome experience as I get to see exactly how Lego designers would have done the same source material at a very similar scale.

Cheers!

^At @8BrickMario, as a matter of fact, I am supporting Glen's project on Cuusoo. Only that he has problems with this set now.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Glenbricker, I much prefer the figs in your design than the ones for the actual set. Here's hoping they also incorporated the opening canopy that you did as well!

By in Germany,

Can someone tell me why the Jedi ship comes with 3 baddies? I am honestly puzzled about this.

Gravatar
By in United States,

There are two Jedi, one Sith, and one Sith Trooper. Two good guys, and two baddies.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

^ thank you! The 2nd on looked rather baddie-ish to me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Do we have an idea of where these characters came from? Being an avid Lego SW Minifig collector (and a little OCD) I am all about making sure i have the full collection, but I'm not really a fan of having Minifigs that are not a legit part of the SW universe... Does anyone know if these are characters or if these are just generic species that a player can choose from when they create their character for the Old Republic Game?

By in United States,

that...is/...so .. ******* AWSOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG IWANT THAT SO BAD\

IM GOING TO GET :))))))))))))))))))))))))
