Inside Tour badge 2013As some of you are aware, I've been in Billund this past week on the first of the year's Inside Tours, along with, DrDaveWatford, Caperberry and my wife, which explains why site updates have been slow. Here's my badge to prove it :-)

It was a fantastic experience and one I would recommend to every LEGO fan. I'll be writing a report later in the week but will just say now that one of the highlights was meeting Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen.

He was a great guy and very happy to chat to everyone present and have photos taken with us. When I introduced myself and said that I ran Brickset.com he said he was aware of the site, knew that I'd been doing so for a long time and thanked me, because he appreciated the importance of the Internet for promoting the brand.

Anyway, I've added images for the new sets that have emerged this past week and will now work my way through the 150+ emails I received whilst away. I'll read and act upon every one but may not reply to them all as I normally do, so if you have sent me information or pictures, thank you.

Finally, thanks to the other admins that kept the site running in my absence, and 'hi' to the AFOLs we met on the tour: Kristel from Australia, Jon from Aberdeen and Michael from Germany who has, apparently, been on an Inside Tour every year since it started, except one!

I have a mental image of Mr Kristiansen excitedly telling people, "you'll never believe it - I met Huw from Brickset! No, really!!" ;-))

That sounds fantastic Huw, I look forward to hearing some more details! I will hopefully be going on the tour someday and if it is half as good as I imagine it will be quite a trip!

Sounds like you all had a great time. Can't wait to see all the new sets you found in "The Vault".

That BMW poly is disappointing, but the TRU Giraffe looks superb.

I am very jealous. I hope to make it next year with my brother! Nice figure, but why do you have orange eyebrows?

By in Indonesia,

The price seems really steep... But it looks worth it, especially with all the awesome stuff. If I go there, I wonder if they have a printed piece for Indonesia..?

Hi Huw, it was great to meet you and everyone else on the tour last week. I'm still amazed how much we managed to see and do in two and half days, I don't think I looked at my watch once whilst I was there.
