July store calendar

Posted by ,

The brand store calendar for the UK has been published at LEGO.com. (thanks Adzbadboy)

There's a lot happening in July including the launch of The Lone Ranger and the BTTF DeLorean, plus a couple of decent freebies to be had so I encourage you to take a look and digest.

LEGO has also published a PDF of the 8" square consumer catalogue for the second half of the year, but only in German. (Thanks Grogall).

It seems that LEGO UK no longer produce an English version; the last one I have is Jan-May 2011, I haven't seen any since then. Have you?

By in United Kingdom,

There's some really nice offers here: I wonder if the Black Brain weapon pack offer starting on the 15th July coincides with the release of the summer Hero Factory sets? Because I really need that black brain for my collection, and I already have two of each of the winter wave!

Now all I need to know is when the summer Chima, Castle and LOTR sets are released so (if) I can get the Hot Dog cart as well: I'm a sucker for freebies! :-)

You know, the DeLorean looks better when you can zoom in on a high definition pdf. It was hard to tell from the last news we got on the design because the image was small, but now it looks a bit better than the last news about it. Still, no opening doors, which is a big disappointment and we still don't have word on minifigs either.

I've had a good look at the newsletter - some interesting stuff, as you say. However, I was very disappointed to see the incorrect use of "it's" in there :-(
Seems like the same people as proofread the catalogues do the newsletters....

Wow! I think Lego may have listened to us about the shipping charge.
Hopefully this means "everyday" from now .....

Introducing Free shipping everyday on orders over £50!

Quite like the BTTF set, but it looks rather overpriced at £35, from the picture it only looks roughly the size of a £10 - £15 set and I understand franchises cost more, but I'd have thought maybe £25 max.

Glad to see The Lone Ranger stuff is official and confirmed now, just got the stage coach and commanche camp from family in Canada when they came over and they really are fantastic sets so look forward to being able to get hold of the rest of them.

Doesn't seem to be anything about the rest of the new LotR sets? I was under the impression they were coming out on 1st July (this coming Monday) when Orthanc goes fully public? Does anyone know anything about when we get the rest of them in the UK?

By in Germany,

Wow, this looks good.
I think I will combine as much as I can.
If my store has it, I'll buy the BTTF set, together with Dragon Bolt. I should be over 50 and have a Hero Factory set.
So, I'll visit at the 18th... hope they have enough of thw Cusoo sets after the fast sellings of the Minecraft set.

Looking carefully at the Deloreon I think Lego have actually made the doors open gullwing style. Theres a gap at the back of the doors showing they aren't connected there and by using the framework above you can use the hinges to open them.

Minifigs though please otherwise its still all for nothing.

The DeLorean still sucks (mainly at the front) and no amount of Minifgis or High res pics is going to change that in my mind.

I can't read German, still didn't stop me from reading the consumer catalogue though. Hope some of those release dates are only applicable to Germany (I understand release dates in every language!), because I want to see those Chima and Castle sets before September! Plus, I was told they would be here in August, so... who do I believe?
Still loving the freebies though :-)

And the brain pack... Yes, only about 6 pieces, but it has a part in an exclusive colour (the brain), plus the red sword, that has only appeared in one set to date: 70204, a Chima set. So great for any AFOL who likes custom HF, like me, but don't want to buy Chima. A great freebie, and one you might want to consider getting multiples of, if HF army building is your thing, like me.
Kinda makes me feel silly ordering two of the red sword part from USA now... :-(

@NeilCrosby: I'm not sure what exactly you're trying to suggest... Marty McFly is a teenager, and Michael J. Fox was over 20 years old when he played the role. He's not THAT short...

Anyway, really excited about the Hero Factory gift-with-purchase. It's rare to get an exclusive element as a freebie in that theme. I can't say the black brain is technically any more useful than any other color, but it's still something I wouldn't want to miss out on.

The DeLorean time machine also looks incredible. I'll bet that one will be another big seller, much like the Minecraft set. Back to the Future isn't as recent a phenomenon as Minecraft but it's still a very well-known franchise, at least here in the States. And while that time machine isn't quite as refined as the one in the original proposal, it's got a lot of complexity to it and makes up for any lack of streamlining in improved functionality.

@Huw; I've been collecting catalogs since 2011, and though I cannot confirm my English editions are of a UK origins, I have January-June 2011 in English, July-December 2011 in English, January-June 2012 in English and Danish, July-December 2012 in English and New Zealand English and January-June 2013 in English and Japanese. I also have a Japanese edition that interestingly covers the whole year, and therefore thicker.

^ Interesting -- there are usually clues on the back as to where they originated.

@LostInTranslation - TLG's general English copy skills are pretty poor. The text in the Architecture White House set was embarrassingly bad. Maybe there is an opening for you there?

I got a store calendar when I went to the Lego shop last. Hopefully the Delorean will be discounted soon.
