By in Switzerland,

So this is the fix for the Shellraiser design.

Huh.. looks like they totally removed the base plate and built it around a rigid spine instead.

It's all good, but I don't think that the base plate in the original design was purely the problem. In the original design I was totally baffled as to why they didn't lock any structural studded bricks to the underside of the base plate and let it 'float' until it was eventually secured from the *topside*. -Meaning as you applied any pressure to the plate to attach parts, the base plate would easily separate.

That, and the total lack of interlocking bricks completely up the side on all four sides of the wheel-pneumatic-columns.

I was surprised that made it through the design review.

But the fix is now in. If anyone cares. :-)

@ kingbrick, I compared the original instructions with these ones and they are completely different, kind of strange seeing as the set has been out for a bit.

I believe there was a change in the design of one of the parts, the train baseplate I believe, after the original model design was finalised which had an impact on its stability.

So are the updated pieces and instructions just going to be available as a pack from customer service, or is there a chance the updated model will actually make its way to store shelves?

It was withdrawn from sale at S@H a while ago, so if it's back there now it's safe to assume it's the later version. I'd be surprised if a pack is made available to be honest.

@ Classicsmiley, I was wondering the exact same thing!
