The cost of your collection update / iPad

Posted by ,

By popular request, the cost of your collection should now be shown for everyone outside the UK in US$, and in £ if you are in the UK, on your My Sets page. Also, it now tots up the cost of the sets you want, too.

Do you view Brickset on an iPad? If so, could you let me know if the large yellow 'mobile device' box above has now gone?

The yellow box doesn't show up on my iPad; I do see it on an iPhone.

I'm not sure if it is intentional, but it only shows up on the home page and not other pages.

Hey I may not be the only one but when I login to my account now it shows "0" dollars for my collection before I had a amount listed.

@Parker, I've noticed that the queries to calculate these figures appear to be slowing the site down considerably, since I added the wanted costs and also earlier today it seemed slower than usual, so I've disabled it for now until I can come up with something more efficient. Sorry for the inconvenience.

[Edit: now reinstated]

Huw, why does my Wanted list price say it has $0 calculated? I have some things that are already out at LEGO.com USA, such as the LEGO & Octan Trucks on that wanted list, so why does it say $0 USD? Thanks!

EDIT: Never mind , my question was answered as soon as I posted! Thank you, huw!

By in United States,

Thanks so much for all these great new cost features, Huw! They are really helpful.

Since you are making so many great updates to the site so often, I am wondering if it would be possible to also allow users to enter the prices paid for loose minifigures and factor those into the total cost of one's Lego in My Sets. Are you able to let users enter price information?

Does the site seem intermittently fast and slow for anyone else today, or is it just me??

Retail prices for 313 of them (100 left) retail value: US$13114
No idea if it's correct. Will watch it the next couple days if there are any changes.

Thanks Huw for this new cost feature and everthing you do to make this site even more attractive.

Brickset keeps getting better. I almost fainted when I saw the cost of my collection.

I'm English, living in Germany, and so would much prefer £s to $s. Instead of setting the currency based on location, could it please be an explicit option I can set to what I like?

It's a good start. I now know for 243/301 sets the total amount is USD 6936,00.
What about the 58 sets that aren't known, will there be an update in the future?
A lot of MSRP are available on Peeron. I just want to know what my total collection is worth. :)

Here's my stats -
Own 1292 sets (519 different). Piece counts for 507 with 295079 pieces.
Retail prices for 474 only with a retail value of US$26100.

So, does that mean there's 818 sets not counted for retail value. Doesn't sound right.
Plus, I have about another 125 items I need to add.

@1265: Now THAT's a Collection. Have You Thought of Making it Public? :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Huw you should add the total retail price for the "did you know section". Im curious what the total is for all the members!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

@1265 It sais it has prizes for 474 of your 519 (diferent sets) that means it misses out just 45 sets...

mystats:
You own 265 sets (252 different).
We have retail prices for 181 of them. Using that data we have calculated that their total retail value is US$5599.

i miss out more then 70 sets

@Crt2 - It's now public. Updated my collection with the exception of 20 or so items. About 97%+ is MISB. My wife thinks I'm nuts and is pissed that my collection takes up so much room. I tell her we need a bigger house.

@ChefAgf - I see it now. Thanks!
