Do I like Ewok Village? Yes.
Do I like Sydney Opera House? Yes.
Do I have space to display them? If I cleared some space, Yes.
Can I afford either of them at the moment? No.

I spent hundreds of pounds in my life for lego, that's all they can give me - an early access? This looks like a joke for people who buy and collect bricks/sets for many years. A few years ago prices for sets were lower, now they are much higher, and they pull the wool over our eyes and give us a ''vip card''. The same as get someone who spend just a few pounds. Thank you lego.

Just bought the Sydney Opera House from the Lego shop in Manchester. Looks amazing in the shop window! Can't wait to get it built. Was a day one purchase for me, mainly because the wife said i could get it because its where i proposed to her. You've just got jump on chances like that before she changes her mind :p

Lego has never been great with their deals, but they are getting a little better. VIP points, free shipping on all orders over $75 now, plus a 4-5 dollar polybag most months when you spend $50 or more arn't too bad incentives when you combine them all. That's like 10% off. The problem is when places like Amazon and TRU have 20-30% sales constantly.

Personally I would be more than willing to buy from Lego if the VIP was just a little better, say 10 or even 15% of the purchase back in points to spend on Lego product. After all that's just more money you are going to be spending on Your addiction!

By in Australia,

And yet in Australia, where this set is based, you can't get it in stores, you can only pre-order the set for dispatch on the first of September. That just sucks.

299€ for Sidney's opera!
Just OUT OF PRICE!! (2990 parts)
Eiffel tower, with almost 500 parts more (3430), was 199€.

@tontonsega, the Eiffel Tower MAY have been cheaper because of the fact that the real Eiffel Tower is in France, whereas the Sydney Opera House is in Australia.

By in United Kingdom,

The Ewok Village was on sale at the LEGO store in Liverpool today.

Also the Sydney Opera House seems to have a lot larger pieces than the Eiffel Tower, what with all those hoods and such.

VIP early access is a big joke. Anyone can be a VIP so what's the point?

I wouldn't normally go for this kind of model, but I have to admit, having seen it in the shop window today it does look pretty awesome.

Not tempted by either of these sets, for starters I have no room for sets of that kind of width (especially the Ewok Village with the extra tree attached). I will wait until October's double points to pick up Orthanc for Christmas.

@yodalego - wise you are! Thanks for the reminder about the September goodies, you saved me missing out for the sake of a couple of weeks. :)
