Series 11 box contents

LEGO Minifigures Series 11 {Random bag}

I'm not sure if the contents of series 11 boxes has been published elsewhere already; if it has I haven't seen it, so I'm grateful for Adam at The Minifigure Store for sending it to me. So which are the common ones, and which are rare?

Rare, 2 per box: scarecrow, diner waitress, grandma, pretzel girl, island warrior, saxophone player
4 per box: evil mech, gingerbread man, barbarian, lady robot, scientist, holiday elf
Common, 6 per box: mountain climber, constable, yeti, welder

If like me, you can't be bothered with all that packet fondling, you can buy a complete set of 16 from The Minifigure Store for £39, including postage, which I reckon is pretty good considering the faffing about that it saves.

Have these hit the shops in your part of the world yet?

By in United States,

I'm quite glad that the Yeti should be easy enough to find, though why do they always make the better ones rare? And no they haven't hit America yet.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

It's really disappointing they're switching to a common/uncommon/rare system, IF this bears out across wide release. Doubly so if there's a rarity and they don't indicate it as such. If there's stealth rarity, why bother making any more rare than any other?

By in United States,

Really? Only 2 grandmas per box? Come on LEGO!

By in United States,

Eurobricks did a review of the series weeks ago. Late to the party Brickset.

The island warrior and elf should be 6, yeti should be 2.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Someone on the forum said they got them at Target in the US, I asked in NYC last night and there's none in the region... caveat they were supposed to be held until 9/1

Huw, the box breakdown was posted in Whitefang's usual review on EB

The Green Brick Giant wrote "The island warrior and elf should be 6, yeti should be 2." Is that your opinion or are you saying that the original post got it wrong?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

So far i've got the island warrior, the yeti, the elf, evil mech and the gingerbread man i hope i can get some more soon.
i think there's a review on Eurobricks for these.

By in New Zealand,

Nothing in New Zealand as yet.

By in United States,

The Yeti is the only common one I want, with the Grandma, Pretzel girl, Dinner Waitress and Island Warrior being rare, I must say, wait I shouldn't start cursing, but WHY?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

haha. @huw The box breakdown was also posted in the brickset forum... a couple of times/on a couple of threads. One of them being the CMF series 11 thread. :oP

(But still worth putting on the front page all the same, as there's probably plenty of people still looking for it)... Funny though. :o)

@IAmWillGibson:
Maybe I am missing something but these have ALWAYS been in three classes: Rare uncommon and Common.
What changed was only having 2 of each rare in the box, which started i think in Series 8, which is annoying if you are trying ot split a box with two other people.

By in United States,

That's my opinion Margot, the list is current. Seems like the islanders and elves would be the ones to most be used for "army building".

How many more series until we have a futurist cop in some neon blue and grey colors or something. Two cops and have we had a fireman yet?

Related issue: Is the minifigstore a reliable trustworthy site? I've never used them before, but was tempted recently. I was put off in the end, because the 'About Us' section didn't actually tell me who they were. I guessed they were fellow AFOLs, but thought, if so, they'd say so.

Anybody have any feedback/who are they?

Cheers.

I have the yeti, the waitress, the holiday elf, the welder & the scientist.

By in Curaçao,

^^ I would normally agree with you and not buy anything from an online shop that doesn't have proper about/contact details but in this case I took it on good authority from Brick Fanatics that they are above board, and from my dealings with them I can confirm that they are.

> The box breakdown was also posted in the Brickset forum...

I don't have time to read everything there! In fact I think there's an opening for a staff member who does who can then post interesting stuff on the home page. Anyone up for it?

> Eurobricks did a review of the series weeks ago. Late to the party Brickset.

Ah yes, I forgot about that. Whitefang's reviews are good but you often lose the will to live before reaching the end :-)

> The island warrior and elf should be 6, yeti should be 2.

I'm just passing on what I was told. I have no reason to believe it's wrong. Maybe the makeup has changed.

By in United States,

@The Green Brick Giant - As far as I can tell, the box distribution is completely correct, according to Eurobricks. Yes, Brickset may be late, but it is providing a source (with an exclusive deal) other than Eurobricks.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I have the diner bird(is just me or is she scary ?) the yeti, the island dude, the blue's brother and his sax, the inka ? (dude with 2 swords) the evil mech, the Pretezel babe and 2 grama's. Willing to swap my other super rare granny for a Mr Gold anyone ?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Thanks @Huw . By the way, i was just ribbing, of course I know you can't read the entire forum - i can't either, and I visit the thing almost every day! :o).

The breakdown is correct. GreenBrickGiant was just saying what he felt it ought to be, (i.e. his opinion).

By in United Arab Emirates,

I found a box of Series 11 in Paris, at the Joue Club Village Lego shop (97 rue Richelieu). Couldn't find all of the figures, the ones with only 2 in the distribution seemed to be gone already, but picked up a bobby, yeti, welder, and gingerbread man.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I hope Ebay's prices for the rare ones are not more expensive...

Gravatar
By in United States,

Thanks for posting it Huw. Not all of us read the other locations. keep up the great work!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The Lego store in Berlin was selling them this weekend.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Spotted in Argos in Watford yesterday in the small boxes (no idea what the distribution is in these?)

I really don't like the new skewed distribution either - 3 complete sets per case was nice, and whilst I can see why someone might want 6 roman soldiers (or any other army builder) per case, 6 mechanics and welders? Really? Good if you have lots of jobs going spare in the multiple Lego garages around your city I suppose. I can see that a 7 year old boy wouldn't be overly enthralled with a grandma or diner waitress, but girls do pick these up too and it's always good to have more female minifigs! And the sax player and island warrior are lovely - clearly with very exclusive moulds they're the most expensive to produce so they shortpack them, just as they did with the Medusa and bumblebee girl last time around.

GRRRR.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Happy to own the Pretzl-Girl and the Scarecrow, but I had to browse through 50 figures to finally find one of each. These are easily one of the best minifigs, so why make them rare? Strange decision. Oh wait, I just answered my own question!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Thats my collecting done, £39 from ebay for the full set. With the more even distribution it used to be fun feeling for the ones you were after but not when there is only 2 of certain figures per box.

It would be my dream to work for brickset (like many others i suspect) but i haven't got the time :(

Gravatar
By in United States,

Bought some Series 10 yesterday. No 11 up here yet…
The selection of minifigs for 4 and 6 seems a bit odd. Not all, just some.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@jhs8swd I'm assuming that the distribution in the smaller boxes is exactly half of that of the larger boxes. Hence the numbers being 2, 4, 6. So good luck find that '1' in a box of 30 to anybody!

Also, if they moulds are expensive, wouldn't it make more sense to make MORE of these figures to somehow recoup this cost?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Manchester Lego store are now selling series 11. I now have the full set thanks to Katie at the Lego store. Spent 45 mins trying to find the 8 I needed just couldn't find the scarecrow in the end a new box was brought out just to find him. 45 mins in the Lego store with 4 assistants helping good luck in none Lego stores. This seems to be the hardest Series to feel for. Got all 16 with only 1 double. So as my above post I am willing to swap granny for Mr Gold :-)
Good luck hunting just go to a brand store and make your life easy.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I have The Welder, Scientist, Tiki Warrior, Constable and Holiday Elf. I got them from WHSmiths in Stratford-Upon-Avon without feeling the packs and i got all different :-D

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

For series 7, 8 & 9 I managed to get all 16 with one double in each set. For S10 I bought extra figures on top of the 16 because I liked them or they had good extras (seagull in the Sea Captain + Bumblebee girl, Medusa). So far I've 4 of S11 - sax player, scientist, climber, constable - bought as a lucky dip from WH Smiths when I collected my Z-95. I usually get my figures from my local Tescos as they always have loads of boxes so I can feel for what I want. For S10 I went in at 11pm and rummaged through 3 opened boxes and 4 sealed boxes in their display stack. Didn't find a Mr Gold and haven't looked for one since. It took me an hour though but nobody approached me. They just left me to it!

By in Canada,

Spotted at wal-mart in western Canada.

Gravatar
By in United States,

They aren't available in Los Angeles yet. People talk a lot about army building, but I don't think I've ever seen photos of them. If I spent that much money to create an army display, I'd want to show it off and post pictures. It makes me wonder if that degree of nerdiness is really so previlant, after all. A pretzel-wielding army would look pretty cool though.

Gravatar
By in United States,

They are in California and Seattle in brand stores...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@legomatt, if you still after experience/feedback on The Minifigure Store...

I took advantage of their 20% off a full TeamGB Minifigs offer posted on Brick Fanatics on Tuesday morning (unfortunately sold out now due to the high demand). So, I ordered Tuesday, shipped Thursday and received this morning. Was free delivery as it was a £10+ order, bonus was that it was sent via Royal Mail Signed For service which I was not expecting so happy with that too :-)

Gravatar
By in Curaçao,

^ My order for CMF 11s has arrived and I to can vouch for Adam's excellent service and packaging.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

Does anyone have see them in Belgium ?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Just ordered a set from The Minifigure Store, seems a much better idea that all this feeling up of packages and ending up with doubles, triples and quads of the common ones. Series 10 proved too difficult to collect for me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Who knows if they are in Colorado?

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Got mine from the Lego Store in Nuremberg Germany. It seems that they will not be available at regular toy stores in the Netherlands. Some Lego specialized stores will be selling them anyway, since the get there Lego through Germany ;) Great set this time, one of the better ones so far! My favorite is the Scarecrow :)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Just ordered a full set from the minifig store myself. Although I will prob still feel for some of the other figs i want more than one of.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I found them in Phoenix AZ at the Target at 27th Ave & 101 freeway (Beardsley). I got all the ones I wanted. There were lots of mountain climbers, Barbarians, Mech, Gingerbread, and Yeti's. Grandma was hard to find.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The guy at TRU told me that he had them in back and can put them on the shelf on September 1st.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Just found at my local Virginia walmart

Gravatar
By in United States,

My local TRU said they have them but can't sell them until Sept 1st. I went to Wal-mart 1 block down the street and bought 16 packs. I post a video on YouTube of my opening. It's posted here on brickset under Series 11 complete set reviews. I got 14 of the 16 on my first try.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I'm not convinced the "rarity" holds out. There were a whole pants-load of these things out at a couple of stores, and I had no problem finding any Scarecrows [I only wanted one, but came across at least 3, I'd say]. I did, however, find no Barbarians, Cat Ladies, Tiki Warriors OR Elfs, which is a bummer, considering the Elf is the only thing I want more than 1 of. So yeah... I still think the hard rarity on these is perhaps a bit of overinflated myth, or possibly regional.

Still, lovely set, what I have of it so far.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Series 11 are out at Toys R Us USA Today
Just bought 8 packs no doubles

Series 11 are out Today

Gravatar
By in United States,

Stopped by the local Kmart today and picked up 5 Gingerbread Man and 9 Elf's. This was from 1 box display just put up shortly before I got there.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I sorted through A NJ Target selection of probably 3 cases- I'm about 90% correct by the molestation method of feeling the figures in their packages : ) By my estimation there were no more than 3-4 of the gingerbread, 4-5 Tikis, ONE granny, lots of elves, lots of mountain climbers, at least 6-7 scarecrows.

So the guides out there are about right, BUT the big thing you folks are going to find is that some of the models like the pretzel girl are practically impossible to feel up. There had to be a few and I tried finding her pretzel but it's a hard one to find just by touch alone.

I have 2 mountain climbers I'll trade for one pretzel babe if anyone wants to : )

Gravatar
By in United States,

Ohhh by the way, I need to post a pic of an (I assume) factory error package that had the foil removed in a wide strip on the back revealing the contents - it's a scarecrow- wondering if someone knows how to do this or if an employee nicked it just right with a boxcutter or if it's just a factory boo-boo. Is this something worth showing? I'm not a huge collector just been 'into' Legos since my youngest is now old enough to play with 'em. Thank the Lego gods she's into Star Wars almost as much as 'Friends' (gawd I hate those skinny minifig skanks haha).

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

My boyfriend and I picked 6 of these up at the weekend. As we didn't have any yet I just picked up 6 packets that looked like they had different bump codes. Managed 5 different varities :p

Gingerbread Man (one I wanted most, so cute, love the little 'Dunk Me' mug)
Scarecrow (My boyfriend liked this one most)
Diner Girl (Did anyone else find the tray didn't really fit anywhere?'
Constable
Mountain Climber (x2)

Not a bad selection, but will this be like Series 10 with an abundance of Mountain Climbers like the Bike Mechanic :P

Gravatar
By in United States,

I sold a bunch of Scientist on ebay, not sure why she is so popular. She is not that rare.

Here is the order from rarest to most common based on opening of 6 cases so far.

Saxophone guy
Island Warrior
Grandma
Scarecrow
Pretzel girl
Elf
Robot girl
Yeti

Finding all set 11s easily identifiable. Some really good figs in this set - lots of parts useful for City sets. Elf really good for Christmas projects too.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I just saw these at a local Target in NY. Is there a "cheat" to identify the figs inside the bags yet? Really miss those barcodes on Series 1 and the dots on the next couple of series. I *hate* the "touchy feely" method. Ain't nobody got time fo' dat!
