Gingerbread Man

Posted by ,

Thanks to The Minifigure Store, I'm now in possession of a complete set of series 11 minifigures. Given that they are not out everywhere in the US yet, but should be any day now, I thought it might be useful to post a few pictures of the more interesting ones over the next couple of days to whet your appetite.

We've had some 180-odd CMFs over the three years since they were introduced and still the LEGO design team continues to come up with new ideas. Sure, each series has its share of retreads but there are always some innovative figures in the mix as well.

The stand-out figure for me in series 11 is this cute-as-a-button gingerbread man. His ginger cream biscuit head and icing decorations are superbly executed and his 'dunk me' mug is the perfect accessory. Definitely one to feel for: the lack of a minifig head could be the giveaway.

I actually got 12 yesterday in a Minnesota Target. I'm Gingerbread Man-less, but I still love these figures!

By in United Kingdom,

He is also the first CMF to have chickenpox.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Does he dunk his own body parts in the cup and eat them? =O

By in United Kingdom,

^If he's dunking a biscuit he's got to be really careful not to lose a finger or two. :S

@huw, did u mean to say thanks, rather than thanks
And this gingerbread man is cool, may have to get one

Having got one of these, I was very impressed with the quality of the head-mould (makes a great Victoria Sandwich cake at minifig scale, or a large Happy Faces biscuit! :-). Huw, I may be wrong, but I think this is a new colour for hands - is that the case?

Being from Canada we'll most likely be the last to get the latest CMF series...again. Is the cookie attached the same way as a regular minifig head? It doesn:t look too thick. There a few rehashes in this series but there are still a few I like. Being a Conan fan I was hoping the Barbarian would have more closely resembled him but its still nice to see; maybe a future rehash will be a female barbarian with red hair (Red Sonja).

^ Yes it attaches in the normal way, it's just under 7mm thick.

The Entertainer store in Sunderland has these in stock now. Must have just got em in.

I've just completed my set too. I think this is a really strong series. The highlight for me is definitely the Constable. I'm hoping to amass as many of these as I can so that I can use them in my miners strike MOC.

Nothing favourite series, but certainly not he worst.

Will you be adding photos of series 8, 9, 10 and 11 to the Minfigure Gallery? I know it must be hard work so it'd be understandable if you didn't, but I do like looking at your photos of them.

very nice printing

i love this fig, and the hamburger head is cool, but i really would have prefered a plain disc head, a stud on top wouldn't have hurt either... i've never seen a gingerbread cookie that has had 1/3 of the center of the head removed and filled with cream, it just doesn't make sense... they're flat homogenous cookies... wonder if target by me has gotten them yet =-)

@Gregorovich, I should do, I know. But finding the time is the issue, particularly as I'm working on the new site design at the moment.

By in Denmark,

now today out to buy in Lego Shop Copenhagen & i believe in Legoland Billund too..

By in United States,

This guy stood out as soon as I saw the first pics! Really wanting some series 11 here in Missouri, but I ready called TRU. Checking out a few Targets today, fingers crossed. This figure may be one to buy a few of. His head seems cool.

By in Germany,

Bought a full set in Germany today. One of the best series imho.

Only one island warrior and granny in a fresh case though, which was strange. :-/

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I have the gingerbread man, i think it's the best figure from series 11 though i also like the yeti and the evil mech.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

It's sweet minifigure :)

Gravatar
By in Guatemala,

I was afraid that the minifigure head will dissapoint me, but it looks pretty cool. Can't wait to get my Gingerbread Man!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Short but great review Huw! Definetly gonna try to find this one

Gravatar
By in United States,

His numerous spots look like a big outbreak of full-body freckles. :P

Gravatar
By in United States,

Anyone know if they are in Colorado yet?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Found at a TRU last night here in Wisconsin. Box was picked over (one employee admitted to searching the box on their lunch break), but still able to get a gingerbread man and yeti. Both are very cool!... No tiki warrior :(

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'm hoping for a female one in the next series to recreate some Fru T. Bunn action (one for the more juvenile adults amongst us who still read Viz!)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I have not quite finished my collection (I am still looking for the Grandma, the Saxaphone Player and the Pretzel Girl) but my favourite Minifigures are the Welder, the Yeti and the Island Warrior.

I think Series 11 is the best yet!

By in Denmark,

@ Lyd & Lost Records, I was in LEGOLAND Billund today, and they had series 11.
I also saw a set i have never seen on Brickset, which was like the Beach, rock band and halloween minifigure accessory sets, but with pirates.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

^ do you know what figures come in the set? maybe it will be on lego.com next mouth.
i have the beach set and the halloween set both are pretty cool.

By in United States,

There is a Pirates minifigure pack out right now. It has a female pirate, Captain Redbeard, and two generic pirates. It also includes a crab, a treasure chest with treasure, and a barrel. I think it retails for $14.99. I saw it advertised at my local LEGO brand retail store.

Not sure why everyone hasn't heard about it if they already released it.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I have a pic of the pirates set and will be adding it soon.

Gravatar
By in Indonesia,

I've picked up two from my trip to London. Got the Yeti and Gingerbread Man.
Used the feel technique. The clerk was totally stupefied and impatient!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

^^^ Sounds cool.

Gravatar
By in Denmark,

The pirate set is quite dissapointing to me. Captain Brickbeard has a Monster Fighters head, no pirate flag, two of the pirates are wearing uniforms, only two weapons for four pirates and instead of a cutlass you get a troll sword.
I need more of the white pirate torso with green stripes, which you only got in three sets (if you wanted it in Danish quality). The blue pirate torso is the only crew torso that has been used since 2009.

Sorry for changing the subject. That set is just brand new.

By in United States,

I was able to pick up the Scarecrow, Mountain Climber, Elf and Space Alien. Yesterday in Terre Haute, IN.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Haven't seen any yet but I'm really excited for the Evil Mech and Barbarian. Evil Mech might top my list for CMF space figs for me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Um, one question. Is the gingerbreadman NAKED?

Gravatar
By in {Unknown country},

Picked a couple up in stevenage (Asda) today. It looked like WH Smith had some but the box was already empty.

By in Netherlands,

Finally a series with a lot of good minifigures, ITS NOT going to be released in the Netherlands in normal Retail shops.
And the few shops that will get them are going two be one to two months later then everywhere in the world.
Just something i needed to hear after the mr. gold affair. I still don't own one or have money to buy one at today's prices.

By in Canada,

Hey, guess what!! Yesterday i went to upper canada mall in newmarket and found series 11! I picked up a yeti and a tiki warrior!!! If you like in canada, newmarket or around there, head to UCM to get series 11!!:)

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

@Af.riem, where will they sell them in the Netherlands? Is this some sort of later release, or will that distribution be permanent for the series? Also, have they become more expensive, like in 2011, or could it be the stores they're in?

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

By the way, I love the series, can't wait to get them. I might even buy them all, if I could make the room. Good work on the designs, LEGO!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,
