2014 Friends Pictures

Posted by ,

Kmart has published pictures of three 2014 Friends sets: 41027 Mia's Lemonade Stand, 41028 Emma's Lifeguard Post and 41029 Stephanie's New Born Lamb.

You can view the photos on the Brickset Flickr Stream.

What do you think? Personally I'm excited for the 1x1 tile cookies!

Mmm...cookies. Those sets look nice, even though I'm not into friends. That lamb is way too cutesy though, like some other friends animals.

You should report about the new Nightwing figure that was revealed today.

Well it seems the green briefcase is back, and I think that the mint color on the motor scooter is more period.

I dislike the Friends animals, why can't we get better animals in a new farm theme?

I like that the new scooter allows for interchangeable handlebars, that was a smart move. Other than that, bring on the new Friends sets! *rubhands*

I wouldn't say the Friends animals are TOO cutesy. Many are definitely too cutesy for LEGO City, but for LEGO Friends (which has its own unique aesthetic) I'd say most of them are perfect. Only the fawn is a real disappointment for me, because it looks more like a dog than a fawn.

These sets all look really excellent. I shared my thoughts on them in the forum. Overall, LEGO Friends continues to show an excellent level of design quality.

'Cutesy' is quite a typical response from the male majority. Girls love this aesthetic, and the animal designs blend brilliantly with the characters themselves.

All three of these sets have a great design for playability. They have a nice selection of standard and specialized bricks too. I'm looking forward to them (but I hope we see some more boy mini dolls in the other sets...).

IMO, the only good thing here are the cookies.

I'm not really into the Friends theme be these are three great sets! Think I will definitely get the lemonade stand. Love the cookies! Hopefully we will see a lot more of the scooter like in the Parisian restaurant.

^ It's really creepy, but not as creepy as the fawn.... "cutesy" is definitely not one of the words that comes to mind when describing the lamb.

Those cookies look awesome! And that scooter.... :)

I don't find the lamb too creepy myself. It reminds me of a muppet, sort of. Not especially lifelike but still cute.

Love the cookies and the scooter!

See, I don't mind the Friends animals. I like the design, even if they don't fit into the typical Lego city.

@coson
I have to agree, those cookies do look delicious :)
Maybe they will use the cookies in the advent calendars next year?

Ha ha! @Aanchir, spot on! The lamb is giving me shivers too, but then I am very male (I don't like pink, flowers, etc), and now you say it it does look so much like a Muppet!!

I'm a bit disappointed that they're just too girly to be picked up by a neutral, like some of the animal sets have been, but I'm not going to complain about that - fans of girly things will love them, and how could I possibly think that everything should be made with me in mind anyway? Well done to TLG for properly establishing a theme specifically for girls and doing a better job than the pastel-shaded Paradisa sets!

Parts-wise I can see golden binoculars, 2x3 purple slopes (I assume they're rare!), printed cookies and a life-ring, and true to their word with the Parisian Restaurant the new bowl piece and scooter are in there. Nice!

I think they all suck because friends is a rubbish theme with stupid minifigures.

@ambrose - don't beat about the bush, mate, tell us what you really think. ;-)

Is it wrong that i'm starting to wish i'd been collecting these sets now? There's some great parts and colours here that us chaps won't be getting our hands on any other way!

Friends continues to provide a good contribution of bits and pieces to any city or village.
The animals and mini-dolls mainly continue to be a bit too freaky and unlegoistic for general lego uses.

Unuseable bits will continue to be freebies for girly burger meals, party bags, etc. :)

I have just checked kmart usa website and all of these sets are on sale there.
Personal I don't like friends but my sister like friends.

I personally feel that the friends sets are great for parts. The figures come with good hair pieces, and the scooter and cookies look rad. I'm not too fond of the minifigures, but I have a niece who loves them, so that's where those end up.

Due to my budget I can't afford to buy any Friends sets, but there are some great pieces in these sets.
