The LEGO Movie Set Details

Posted by ,
Super Cycle Chase

Dutch site 2ttoys.nl has published set details and euro prices for the LEGO Movie sets, due for release next year. There are no new images unfortunately, the only LEGO Movie set we have an image for is 70808 (pictured).

The sets are:

  • 70800 Escape Glider
  • 70801 Melting Room
  • 70802 Pursuit
  • 70803 Fool Palace
  • 70804 Ice machine
  • 70805 Waste Crusher
  • 70806 Castle Cavalry
  • 70807 Metal Beard’s Duel
  • 70808 Super Motor Pursuit
  • 70809 Lord Business’ Hideout

The names are a bit cryptic aren't they, though the fact that they have been translated from Dutch by Google probably doesn't help!

By in Indonesia,

Could the "Escape Glider" be that extremely structurally-unsound looking glider the main character (Emmet) rode in the trailer? I have absolutely no ideas what the others may point at though.

EDIT: Upon reexamination, it doesn't look that structurally problematic and would actually make a feasible small set.

I like the sound of these sets, and if the nine we have yet to see pictures of are as good as Super Cycle Chase, then they will be excellent.

I do have to question the names though, Lord Business...? :o)

By in United States,

They had me at Metal Beard.

By in Slovakia,

Melting Room sound cool .

By in United Kingdom,

Sounds good. Hoping the price-to-piece ratios are great!

By in United States,

The melting machine will be a great addition to my Star Wars sets (factory). And that Police hummer looks sick.

The sets sound good, though are we sure that they are real? There are only ten names, wheras a while back an article said that there would be seventeen sets.

Interesting, I wonder what the Melting Room could be...

^^coson 17 sets is a lot for one wave. I think 10 will come out in January (or February) and then the rest will come later when the DVD/Blu-ray is released.

What I'm really looking forward to though are more Hobbit pictures. They're supposed to come out in less than two months, you'd think we'd at least have a bit more information by now.

Cool,I wonder what the other seven sets will be?

Some of these sets might be pretty nice, better start saving. :P

The set I am looking forward to most is Lord Business' Hideout, if in fact we get that awesome helmet he was seen wearing in one of the trailers for the film.

@Telcontar That would make perfect sense, actually. If there were to be a summer wave, it would come directly with the DVD/Blu-Ray release of the film, since that usually comes around half a year after the release of the film. Which coincidentally is around August, when most summer sets release.

I think the fool palace is better translated foolish palace ;) but i am very curious about the pictures!

By in Hungary,

I've some ideas with this theme:
- collectable minifig set with 9 (or 12) minifigs with the characters from The Movie (such as the Team GB sets),
- minifig/polybag set enclose in the DVD/Blu-Ray's box.

If they're as bonkers as the trailer, then colour me interested.

@The Big Legoski

I'm also very curious about the Castle Cavalry set. I hope it's a cavalcade of medieval knights. That would be very cool. I was concerned that the movie theme would have nothing to offer Castle enthusiasts.

I'm delighted that this range is yellowy, not fleshie.

Can't wait for the LEGO Movie to be released! These sets sound really good. I think that they will be big sellers especially the one pictured and some of the smaller sets. Lets wait to see the official images.

Cool, it looks like a "cyberpunk" style movie. Awesome looking set!

I kind of wonder if Lego needs licensing, because of Warner Bros, or they get the privilege of not needing licensing as it is "their" movie.

By in United States,

Anyone else wanting more LEGOs than there wallet can afford right now? Because currently, the Hobbit and LOTR, as well as Ninjago and the LEGO movie, are all looking like I'm going to "have" to get at least some of them.

By in United States,

cannot wait until next year!

@GuardianofAtlantis, absouletly! So many sets, so little money... :-P

Gravatar
By in United States,

Mine translated to lord shelter buisness is the actual set name or just my dumb computer? and any way lord buisness sounds pretty gross:P

Gravatar
By in United States,

Lord Business sounds funny but it has been officially noted that is the name of the main villain in the movie.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I am interested in that 70806 Castle Cavalry. I like the sound of that (more horses!). The other sets are just not really suited for me, maybe that changes when pics arrive.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

the trailers for the film make it look phenomenal, let's hope the sets are just as good!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I really hope that there are Black Falcons in the Castle Cavalry set (which isn't exactly unlikely given the appearance of 80s space guy in the movie trailer)...

... and then I hope that the set is so popular that it inspires TLG to produce a full-blown return of the faction, Kingdoms-style, once the LotR and The Hobbit have run their course.

70806 Castle Cavalry all the way!! Hoping for some new or classic castle figures!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm kinda curious why nothing has been mentioned about the new ninjago set pics or the batman one. It's kinda slow on news here the last few days.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

^ And nothing was mentioned about the new Chima lion figure.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Terfsten, here, here! I know Huw has a life, but it has been pretty slow for news lately.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The Castle Cavalry sounds good to me, if it is classic Castle then pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease let it be Black Falcons!!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@terfsten, Patch22 and coson - I believe that the images released so far of the sets you have listed are all still marked as confidential, so they will not be published here on Brickset for the time being. When images without watermarks come to light (as has happened with the Hobbit sets today), those will be published.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@CapnRex101 Oh I see I was just curious. I didn't see watermarks on the ninjago set images but the batman one I understand because it was blurry and unclear.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@terfsten: The last article published by Huw was the review about the promotional set, almost a week ago. Very fishy.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I've been on vacation for 2 weeks. Normal service will now be resumed!
