2014 Technic set revealed in Power Functions brochure

Posted by ,

This vehicle called 'Container Truck' by LEGO, but which looks more like a skip lorry to me, is featured in a PDF of a Power Functions brochure uploaded to the LEGO server today.

I've a soft spot for Technic 'utility vehicles' so this looks to be right up my street. Launch is believed to be January, so probably just before Christmas in the USA.

Thanks Brickbuilder for the news.

Technic just keeps getting better and better.
Put me down for one of those!

I like the dumpster-pickup on the back, but the cabin is quite bland, seen it half a dozen times before. Almost looks like they took an existing truck and put something new on the back.

Nice to finally see something of the Technic 2014 stuff. Looks a reasonable set, though I think the cab would look better in blue to go with the skip.
Most important though - new tires!

Big Technic fan here... this set is just OK in my opinion here. I sure hope Lego will eventually create and release an official large scale motor grader set someday.

It's high time there was a skip lorry model - something overlooked by LEGO for far too long. A City version would be appreciated - a challenge to set designers to fit it all in the typical width of a City truck.
Love the colour scheme here, though maybe someone could try switching out the red for orange...
It does strike me though as quite a large set for not a huge amount of function.

I just finished building the Ultimate 42009 RC-Mobile Crane designed by Jurgen Krooshoop. While this new set does look interesting, I will skip it. Mostly for lack of funds. Crane was an expensive build!

Neat looking vehicle.
If I had the room I would buy most of the Technic models as they really seem to be getting better every year.

The color scheme of this model reminds me of set 435-1/612-1.

Am I the only one that is completely unimpressed by this?

At least well be getting a lot of new blue panels in the 1st half Technic sets...

I like it because it is not another front end loader, dump truck, excavator, backhoe, etc.
I see why they do those, as they sell well, but it is nice to see sets like the log truck and this set from time to time
And to be honest expect LEGO to do this with those sets that have PF as they have to keep it way from many of the details if they want to keep the price down.
In other words, not everything can be a supercar.

looks like a nice set, though I don't have any technic sets.
also there is pictures of the new Chima bat strike set on Kmart, it has a bat minifigure called Blista;)

Not the worst model I've ever seen.
