SDCC 2010 Cube Dudes instructions available here at Brickset!

Posted by ,

Brickset member Jsutton has reverse engineered the models and created step-by-step instructions of the five SDCC 2010 Cube Dudes. You can now view them excusively at Brickset!

If you have the parts, do take the time to make them as they are very cute!

Update: Jsutton has provided new versions of the instructions that are slighty more accurate, thanks to input from those that actually own them.

Thank you so much!

By in United States,

While those are pretty cool, I can't believe people paid 75 bucks for them and are now paying even more on the secondary market.

Thank you for sharing the instructions.

each set costs around 10 dollars Canadian on Pick a Brick

"each set costs around 10 dollars Canadian on Pick a Brick"

Interesting. I'm planning on going down the Bricklink route, so I'll let you know which works out cheaper. Bricklink, I suspect, but we'll see. The orange (for Obi Wan) and lime (for Yoda) might push up the price a bit as parts in these colours tend to be a bit harder to track down.

UPDATE : you can't actually buy all the required pieces from Pick-a-Brick anyway, at least in the UK. The lime green jumper plate isn't available, nor the orange 2 x 2 corner plate or the chrome lightsaber hilts. Probably others as well - I stopped looking after a while.

OK the sets are cool and have simple pieces I love them!

By in United States,

I buillt Yoda, though i didn't have all the pieces in the right color.
AND PEOPLE, TRY TO KEEP THIS TO BRICKSET SO PEOPLE DON'T STEAL IT AND MAKE MONEY OF THE INSTRUCTIONS!!!!

Anyone thinking about doing the Bounty Hunter Cubedudes from Fan Celebration V? I really want to build those things. As I already have the SDCC Edition. I made a Boba Fett of my own based off of a design from flickr but the one from Fan Celebration V looks superb.

So that one 1x1 round tile in R2D2, is that purple or dark blue? I can't find a good picture of the model online from that angle...

Gravatar
By in United States,

very cool can't wait for the bounty hunters

Gravatar
By in United States,

@james benjamin, i have the SDCC ones... i think that round 1x1 you mean is a plate, not a tile.... as i don't know if round 1x1 tiles exist. semantics aside, the round 1x1 plate in step 2 of the head is purple.

i wish i had known people wanted the instructions... i could have scanned them in.

By in Canada,

i think you can only get the pieces for r2-d2 and c3p0 completely in Pick a Brick...the other three has pieces that aren't available

By in United States,

@doodlebird: Do you have any of the other SW cube dude sets? I've been looking all over for these instructions but couldn't find them anywhere - if you have any of the others it'd be extremely kind of you to share! Thanks!

There's only one other 'CubeDude' set, the 'Bounty Hunter Edition', and that isn't released until later this week.

@Earl, nope sorry. just this one. day late and a dollar short on these.

awesome!!

By in France,

Pick a Brick for ObiWan : 6.5€ = $8.3 ! (add shipping, <$75 !)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The US$75 was for a set containing the parts for all 5 figs; 5x$8.3 is still less than US$75 ... but that's not the point for a serious collector.

Gravatar
By in France,

Furthermore, the collector is sure to have all the pieces. (It's difficult to find all of them on pick a brick because the reference is not sure, the colours are sometimes slightly different or not present :'( .)

My ObiWan Kenobi is blonde hair ! ... Nevermind :D
