Argos catalogue out in the UK

Police Pontoon Plane

The appearance of the Argos catalogue in January is often the first opportunity people in the UK get to buy the new sets in their local shops. This year is no exception, there's a good selection of new Star Wars, City, Technic and Bionicle sets available. You can check them out on the Argos website.

This year's 'half-price' set is the 7723 police seaplane, 'reduced' from £35 to £17.50.

Cool, Problem is, whenever I pop down to get lego. its sold out... I was hoping they'd have some more castle lego, oh well.

The new police station is €55 in Argos Ireland, despite a S@H price of €75. Pretty sweet! (Consider that the last police station, far smaller, was the same price!)

That's odd! I get the Lego magazine each 1/4 year and the seaplane was a preview! Bit pointless...

They've got the Mobile Mining Unit and the Switch Fighter confused on the Argos website. Yes, peppermintmecha, I was indeed also hoping for some new castle sets. Are they in the catalogue and not the website?

I like the lego in Argos catologue. There is a lot more lego city than other catologues. Which I am very happy about.

Nowhere seems to be stocking the truck and fork lift. I know that shop @ home say it is a hard to find, but you need to be able to find it to buy it!?! I was expecting Argos to have it as an exclusive.
I have found the post van in an independent shop near me, good little van.

I think im the only one who has noticed that if you look on the front of the mask of light it looks like a person with his arms outstretched.Has anyone else noticed this

You can get the truck and fork-lift, which incidentally is a very nice set, in the LEGO brand stores.

Hmmm... I wish I'd ordered the truck and fork-lift when I made my post-Christmas S@H order. I too was expecting it to appear at Argos if nowhere else.

Is it me or does the MX-41 set (7647) shows the picture of the Armoured Drilling Unit (7699)?

It does indeed. I don't think you would get to exercise any extra rights as a consumer though, as with any catalogue buying (including Argos) you are already allowed to return the product simply due to change of mind (not even just cause of Argos 30-day return policy), because you don't get to see the product in real life till you've bought it.

Still, Argos will probably have their share of genuinely fooled customers that they have to deal with in terms of returns, complaints etc. I expect they'll put an updated sticker over the product photos on the in-store catalogues, and update the website, but that doesn't fix the hard copies of the catalogue that people have been taking away already.

Unfortunately I live far enough from a Lego brand store that the cost of fuel to get there and back is probably close to what I would pay in postage from SaH.

New sets have been arriving in dribs and drabs at local stores. Top marks to my local Co-op in Ipswich which had all Racers, all Star Wars except the AT-AP, and all Creator except the Cargo Copter from Jan 12th.

Argos has now supplied my AT-AP and Cargo Copter, although stock is running out fast. Woolworths has had all the new Exo-Force for a couple of weeks, but now bizarrely has suddenly got stock of just the Police Helicopter and CARGO TRUCK & FORKLIFT. I still can't find the Post Van and Plane anywhere!

Since your on about argos,i notice a slight flaw in there book. The wording states AND so you may be in for a bargain because it has included the word AND.

So if you may purchase the item and if you don`t receive the other item you can go to trading standards.

LEGO Star Wars Imperial Dropship and Rebel Scout Speeder. 3874226 £8.99

It's obvious they're selling them separately ;0

Just noticed that 10178 the motorised AT - AT comes with a remote control which is exclusive to Argos. Given the difficulties I mentioned in my review about starting it and even worse catching it to stop it, this has to be a good idea and all the sets sold anywhere should have this welcome extra.

My local Woolsworth had the truck and fork lift! Thats another down for my 2008 wish list, just excavator and green grocer to go unless any other offerings come along!
