Advent day 10

Posted by ,

With a boring bench for the table and something unidentifiable in yesterday's City and Friends calendars there wasn't much to write about. Today however, we have our third proper minifig in the City calendar: a firefighter. What's more, it's a female firefighter, which is even better.

A common theme in the City calendar this year seems to be that the minifigs are not acting normally: the policeman and robber are socialising, and now, the firefighter is not extinguishing flames, but cooking sausages.

I'm guessing that tomorrow we'll have a fire to cook over. There are enough sausages and 'forks' for the policeman and the robber to partake in some barbecued snags as well, so if we do have a fire tomorrow, it should make a splendid photograph :-)

By in Canada,

Today also had a crazy amount of spares. Two extra sausages and claw thingies, two extra nozzles, and one extra cylinder.

I made a second fire extinguisher and put it next to where tomorrow's item is supposed to go, because I noticed several "designated spots" on the part of the calendar that I'm calling the "mat." There's a designated spot for the fireplace, one for the barrell thing from a few days ago, and two others for things that haven't come up yet.

I got enough parts to build two fire extinguishers, plus a spare nozzle.

That's what you get when you invite a firefighter to your Christmas bbq.

I hope tommorow has the grill... I've been getting some boring stuff lately! You see, my brother and I split the days (he does even, I do odd), and in the past few days, I've gotten a table and a bench, and my brother's been getting dang good food pieces and a female firefighter!

Well, so much for the city advent being such a sausage fest...

Seriously though, it is nice to see a female fire fighter for once, since they appear in sets rarely. More sausages/hot dogs are always welcome of course, since I am a fan of Lego food pieces. I hope they will get released in a different shade though... and the black ones in that Atlantis set don't count! I never got a chance to get the flesh colored ones in the Belville sets.

^^ Me and my brother used to share our advent calendars, we would take turn every year that I get the odd days
and my brother gets the even days and the next year we'd switch.
But now I get the City one and my brother gets the Star wars one.
But I guess you got a cool Dog! ;)

@bsv103 I noticed those "designated spots" on the "mat" also. I was wondering if anyone else had. I wonder if huw uses them...

If you want to use two of the same calendars in the same household, you could always take the tape off the end of one of them, turn the inner tray around, then close it back up again. Then you get the same things but in a different order.

P.S. I forgot to look, but does anyone have a scan of the original cityscape image before you start opening doors? I've noticed a few amusing little details in the picture, but would love a large, hi-res version to look over.
