Advent Day 15 - Star Wars

Posted by ,

Another Minifigure greets us today, a Geonosian Drone. This Minifigure appeared as a pilot in 7959 Geonosian Starfighter and has also appeared with the addition of some wings in 9491 Geonosian Cannon. It is perhaps an unsurprising inclusion given yesterday's Geonosian Starfighter and will go well with the Clone Trooper from day 10.

This Minifigure is highly detailed on the torso (on both the front and back) and legs with some elaborate printing showing the armour and gemstones which adorn each Geonosian. The segmented exoskeleton of these creatures is also captured nicely and I like the mixture of dark tan and black which make up the colour scheme. The head mould too is suitably insect-like and is lovely, although his neck does look a little odd from behind.

As an uncommon Minifigure, I am very pleased with this inclusion. Geonosians are of course numerous, so even if this is not your first of this excellent Minifigure, it is nice to get another one for your army.

Overall - 4.5 - A superb Minifigure with fantastic detail, and a fairly rare one too having only appeared twice previously.

Nice figure, although I wish it had wings :)

The original Geonosians were much better IMO.

^ But this isn't a comparison, he is reviewing this figure :-)

I personally like the new ones better. Of course, I only have the new ones. Thinking about getting one of the winged ones from the geonosian cannon set as I saw it half off at some places, and I already have some other geonosian based sets.

IMO, I don't find the neck that odd. Geonosians do have long necks.
