Advent day 18 bonus

Posted by ,

It's a good day in the Friends calendar today too. I thought this snowman was quite well executed and I particularly liked his purple hat, which first appeared in the Christmas Tree Seller set.

The Friends calendar has been a little disappointing although there have been a few reasonable days. One reason I haven't posted many 'pics' from it is that my wife has been opening and building the models and some days she forgets to :-)

Disappointing? My daughter loves her Friends Advent! ;)
Ok, she is 6 and my little girl, guess it's made for them, not for AFOLs ;)

Red scarves in the Friends calendar too? I wonder if they'll turn up in the Star Wars one as well!!

I love this snowman! Great day!

And I think the Friends have been really good, beside four days that sucked (6-parfumes, 10-hair things, 11-bag of money, 12-presents). The other 14 days have quite good!

The Friends is shaping up to make the nicest scene when everything is put together. Each day may be underwhelming on its own, but together they fit.

Yay ! Friends Reviews are back ! I too like the hat, but think the body is a bit thin, so added the snowballs from a day or two earlier as shoulders. It lets the arms swing down.

My daughter is 5 and I also got her the 2012 calendar on sale in January. The two are quite similar. Snowman, presents and tree are to be expected but another ski-mobile and lamp-post... And 'Pink basket of money day' is better than the previous years 'Handbag Day'. One thing I'd like to see is more figures: City gets 7, Friends get 2. An adult or a boy would be nice.

But the MOST IMPORTANT question: what is the pink basin thing with wreath and brown cube from Day 9 (I think) ?

Boys and men's are rare in friends as far as I know...
Only saw one in Olivia's house.

But aren't they teenagers? Guess lego doesn't want them to have a boyfriend and make love etc. :P

^Boys Matthew (Heartlake High) and Andrew (Dolphin Cruiser and the upcoming News Van) are two current minidolls. Robert is coming with the Horse Show set. Slowly, boys are entering the Friends theme. I'd love to see a boy minidoll pack that included a boys in a karate suit, soccer uniform, swimsuit, and riding outfit so the boy figures (and real life boys) could interact with those specific Friends sets more completely. Friends may be targeted at girls, but that doesn't mean boys should be excluded from the great builds and play the sets offer. I was pretty stoked to get Matthew and Andrew so I could more naturally play with my daughters and our Friends sets, so I thank LEGO for them.

^^The pink basin is storage for the purple bows and other head gear. The brown table is to store the purple brush, comb, hair dryer, and hand mirror by connecting their handles into the holed-studs.
