'Festive Fun' at LEGO.com

Posted by ,

As in recent years, LEGO have launched a website devoted to inspirational model ideas for the upcoming Christmas/Holiday season. There are nine models up already, with a new one promised each week until the end of November. Something to look forward to until you can start working your way through your LEGO Advent Calendar!

You can check out the models on the 'Festive Fun' web page; although the models themselves are quite simple, LEGO have provided downloadable instructions for each one in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format. For the LEGO.com download completists out there, it might be be worth grabbing them all during December, before they vanish.

Are you planning to build any Christmas/Holiday decorations out of LEGO this year? The Winter Toy Shop / Winter Bakery combo is an attractive, and popular, choice, but I think I might just build some small models to hang from the tree this year. As always, let us know!

By in United Kingdom,

My wife bought the toy shop last year and the bakery arrived a few days ago so I know what i'll be building! It's a pain that I absorbed the toyshop into my collection because now that'll have to be sorted back out again. I hope to have enough space to display both together and enhance/ subvert the scene with some extra models of my own!

Sigh. Why always Christmas? Why not Halloween? It's certainly the more fun of the holidays, with greater potential for interesting models.

Nice-looking models! Hey bluemoose, is that you? Because you always put a space between the words and exclamation and question marks, and you didn't do it! :)

@ Bluemoose if you built the models you might want to glue them together??

Never thought of making any LEGO decorations. Might start doing that now, I usually forget about decorating after the tree is done.

@Bluemoose well, what i do for cristmas is very, very strange. First of, i cover my city (BrickSummer) in white and blue slates (snow and ice) and build a snowman and a christmas tree. This would mean that the snowman would be a white minifigure and the tree, don't ask. But thanks to the daily mirror this christmas i will have something to make my city a bit more festive. Oh, i also take the leaves of my trees. Of topic, i was watching bid tv yesterday (for those who don't know what bid tv is, its a tv channel that you can by dirt cheap gifts for christmas and other things) and said that lego was bestlock....

This is a great idea on LEGO's part, although it would be better if they added models during December, too. It would make it more advent calendar-like.

Why'd they lock up all the sets after the Santa model? Yesterday they were all available for download.
