Which they print stop signs on, instead of making an octagon sign.
Or at least they used to, but I'm still needlessly and unnecessarily angry about it.
The one instance where they use European sign shapes for arrows, speed limits and such.

I never thought about that before, but you're right!
This part's usage in 7648 is befuddling. It's connected in a weird way to a female click hinge, and has a confusing sticker that looks like a... scratched up solar panel? Who would put a glassy/crystalline surface on the bottom of an outrigger? Maybe it's diamond to cut into the ground and lock on?
Apparently all three Ninjago City sets come with this part. Neat!
I’m shocked it has such a normal name.
I’m surprised it’s not “circle tile w. vertical clip.” With some diameters thrown in for good measure.
I'm assuming they updated the clip design, since Bricklink inventories this in over twice as many sets as Brickset.

Completely agree. It's insane to me that it's 2023, and LEGO hasn't made an octagonal stop sign since the 1970s.

I haven't got this set, but from the photos, it looks like the designer was aiming for that part to be the surface of a precious material detector.
I’d hope it wouldn’t snap if I’m honest, prefer my Lego in one piece!

They made them much later than that. I got octagonal stop signs as part of an accessory pack in the late 1980s/early 90s.

Bricklink lists part 890px1, an octagonal sign with clip printed with a stop sign. It came in 7 sets from 1999 to 2003.
Amusingly enough, I've only got this version of the mold in black, while I've only got the previous version in white.
