Series 3 minifigs out already!

Posted by ,

And there's a photo to prove it over at BrickPop. Apparently there were loads at Fred Myer's in Seattle, WA, but now there are probably none: the guy bought 11 boxes of them...

I guess those of you in the US had better get down to your local branch and see if you can find any.

(via Toys N Bricks)

Update: they are appearing on eBay already, where there are some great pictures. If you are in the US you'll see them on the set details page, if not you can view them via the Brickset eBay search page, and click on United States in the menu.

Update 2: BrickPop has now analysed the contents of the boxes and posted pictures, unfortunately not very good ones, of each 'fig.

11 Boxes!?!?!?! That’s just selfish, I like their style

By in Canada,

i read the artical and it seems that there might be 1 1/2 boxes left, but i am confussed, isn't tru the ones who usaly get the new minifigures first?

By in United States,

C'mon, Target!!

By in United Kingdom,

No one saw this, but the elfs sheild has a forestmen logo on....Just that insted of the deer being alive its dead......

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm going to TRU first chance I get - they probably won't be far behind in getting them if this is the official release.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Got a box at Salem, Oregon Fred Meyer. One box left. Good luck.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

I'll check my local TRU on my back from work later. We got series 2 very late in the UK compared to USA and Europe main land, hopefully not again this time.

Gravatar
By in United States,

what $$ does a box run. I've seen a few on ebay...elf....gorilla...indian chief and alien to name a few

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm sure this isn't what Lego intended when they developed this series. Whether it's TLG's fault for under-supplying, or collectors for over-buying — this whole series saddens me.

I'm a huge Lego fan, but despite looking for months (since Series 1), I've yet to see a single Collectable Minifig in any store — and I live in a pretty big city.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

the tru in calgary does not have these yet, but they claim that they will have them before christmas.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I would bet that series 3 will be more prolific than series 2. And even though TRU and Target sold out quickly at first, around here I've seen series 2 minifigures still (in box+ size quanities) at a few Borders and one TRU these past 2 weeks. I think they reached saturation on all except spartans for the price they are trying to sell them for.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Here we go again! Can't wait till they get to Colorado. too bad I am still broke from the last round.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I dont know what Im going to do, some of S3 figs are really crummy, and now that I cant identify them...

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Shijima - Just wait until they appear on Bricklink at affordable prices...people don't tend to mark them up that much, and then you can pick and choose the exact ones you want.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Just got back from checking my local TRU, Target, and Walmart in MD. No luck so far. however i believe they will probably be showing up in the Seasonal isles like S2 did because I did find a assortment of the polybags there. Good luck and happy hunting.

Gravatar
By in United States,

sweet hopefully they show up in so cal soon.not sure if I wanna run around for these maybe ill just buy some online when they show up.

Gravatar
By in United States,

If you look at the picture of the gorilla on eBay, it actually is a gorilla mask on a regular minifig head.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I hope the're in WI by black Friday! Come on TLG!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I was able to find more at the Redmond Fred Meyer today. They wouldn't sell sealed cases to me, nor open another case from their stock for me. They probably waited until I left to get another case out.

I've looked over the packaging a bit and don't see any identifying features. Bummer, I was hoping for at least a mark or something identifiable to make updating the Android Minifig Collector app worth while.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I wouldn't call that greedy, I would call it .... a HUGE credit card bill. If he paid $2/minifig x 60 (per box) x 11 (boxes) = $1320. If he paid $2.99 the total is $1973 before tax. Greed can be very expensive. Lego fans, don't worry about what other people are buying. Let them pay the bill. Worry about the ones you'll be getting at $1.99 from TLC.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Great, just antother series to miss out on. I want a redemption series and more than just a nurse.

Gravatar
By in United States,

For those of you that think you "missed out" on Series #1 and #2, sealed cases are still available of both on Bricklink for fairly reasonable prices. Series #1 sealed cases go for about $200 (which is $3.33/Minifigure) and Series #2 sealed cases go for about $140 (which is $2.33/Minifigure). Stop complaining and go to Bricklink and buy them if you feel you were somehow "wronged" during the first couple series. They are still out there and at fairly reasonable prices. But if you're complaining because you can't AFFORD to buy a sealed case...well...that's just the way the dice rolls. Some people have better jobs and/or less expenses and that's just life.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Why would you buy those cheap plastic things anyways...their quality is that of some toy you get out of a vending machine, not LEGO....

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm done hunting these things down. Everytime there's a shipment, some greed-driven person (not necessarily an AFOL, maybe some eBay seller looking for a quick profit) buys the box, and it's extremely unlikely that kids bought all of them since my local TRU is pretty much devoid of everyone besides employees unless it's a special event-type thing going on, which are very rare, or early-mid December. I am disappointed in these people out to make a quick buck.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

HAHA...nice one!! 11 x boxes...that made me laugh....i'm getting excited now BEFORE Christmas for series 3, and i was going to leave this excitement until after lol

btw, my local toymaster store has 5 full boxes of series 2 under the counter if anyone ineterested.

Gravatar
By in United States,

11 cases, good for you. If you have that sort of money to blow. Keep your receipt. There will be plenty of ser3 out there for everyone. Personally I think speculating on this much could be costly, if someone got stuck with so many of an unpopular series...AFOL may feel like A FOOL.

PS Just picked up Pharoahs quest 7306 Golden Staff Guardian (70 pcs set) I got it at TRU for an unbelievable $9.99 (compared to the SW battle pack or Harry Potter dobby set which are $14.99 there) they also had the 500+ sphinx set for $50)

Gravatar
By in United States,

lego lost me on the last series, im just going to buy the ones i want, have fun sitting on all those you two greedos,

Gravatar
By in United States,

What the heck?! I didn't even get Series 2 or the Clown or the Cheerleader from Series 1 yet!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

does anyone know if the stores will restock, these? cause i'm going to seattle at the begining of december.

Gravatar
By in Finland,

Hmm, I hope we'll have pictures of them all soon. :) It remains to be seen when these boxes will appear in more distant places like Finland. :P I suppose not anytime soon...

Judging by the high-res pic, I will probably throw elf hairpieces in the spare bin and add helmets instead to create elite archers. \o/ Which is kinda funny as I'm quite an avid fantasy reader and a Tolkien freak. :P

Gravatar
By in United States,

This will be an interesting wave. Personally, with no way to identify the figures, I won't spend over $2.50/figure on these since I'll probably end up with a bunch of figures I don't want and I'd rather not pay premium prices for figures that are useless to me. Compare that to Series 1-2 where I paid up to $4/figure when I saw them, because I knew they were the figures I wanted. For example $4 for a motorcycle cop or a lifeguard was worthwhile, but $4 for a figure I don't want, and perhaps already bought 2-3 would not be money well spent.

I suspect I'm not alone in this, so those who think they're going to make a fortune reselling these on ebay may be in for a rude awakening - between the likely larger supply and the likely lesser demand, I have a feeling this will be the wave when the bottom drops out of the market.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Got a Box in Vancouver, WA. It was the only one, but it was a full 60.
Maybe they have more in the back they'll put out later?

By in United States,

Out of interest (because I don't live anywhere near a FM) are they selling them for $1.99? before thier 25% off coupon.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Is it just me, or have they really dropped the ball with this batch? Apart from the elf, there's nothing good.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Come on you lot, keep it civil & respectful. Take the insults & name calling somewhere else.

By in United Kingdom,

lego_nutt Which toymaster?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow! I honestly didn't see this coming, let alone see it happen in North America first. I expected the Series 3 minifigures to be the one new 2011 Lego product not to see store shelves in 2010. However, I'm in no hurry. Stores in my area received Series 2 late, and as of right now, they're all overloaded with the figures. The rush must be over because they aren't selling at all. Hopefully, Series 3 will be the same for my region.

Also, I wonder if someone somewhere will eventually find a system for identifying the figures beyond feeling the bags.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I understand your need to censor these comments but these people are in no way deserving of any respect for these type of deeds. I am appalled the real AFOL community chooses to condone this type of hoarding behavior that clearly misrepresents the rest of us that try to make Lego a friendly hobby for all.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The hunt is on! There were lots of series 2 lying around after the big rush, if theyre supposed to make even more series 3, lets just say we'll all have plenty.

Gravatar
By in United States,

LEGO is making too many series too soon. Slow down LEGO :)

Gravatar
By in Canada,

This is shocking news. I wasn't expecting these to be out until January especially since series 2 mini-figures are still available in a lot of toy stores. Time to start hunting again. I was at TRU today and didn't see any but they do have many of the new 2011 sets already!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I love it ! I already got 5 minifigs
chief, tennis, gorrila SUIT, Samurai, Snowboarder :D
Fred Meyer hardly knew they had them XD
but I wish people wouldn't hoard them so much I'm worried I wont ever see them again :(

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I am an AFOL and I completely disagree with the practice or hoarding and reselling these. It makes the LEGO hobby less fun for everyone if a handful of people buy multiple boxes because it makes the mini-figures difficult to obtain. So far I have been aiming to get 1 of each figure. I was successful with series 2 but I only managed to get 13 of the 16 mini-figures for series 1 because when I went back to the store a couple of weeks later they were all gone.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Heh... I wonder if the distribution manager for these stores got a nasty phone call from Lego.
As it seems rather unusual that the Fred Meyer chain (not a TRU) happened to get these in ONE part of the country when they were not expected out for another 30-40 days...
I really wonder if this was not some kind of shipping snafu by Lego/ errant early release by the store.
Which means those who bought these will make a killing on the eBay market due to people wanting these by Christmas...
We shall see if TRU happens to follow suit and release any of these any time soon.

Gravatar
By in United States,

skyscraper, where did you find them?

Gravatar
By in United States,

@ madforlegos - why would you think that LEGO would wait until January to sell the minifugures? They are the perfect size as stocking fillers for Xmas. Ten or twenty boxes sold a one store are the best publicity stunt that LEGO could give themselves. Now everyone knows the minifigures are out and looking for them. Do you think that it was only a "mistake" that the minifigures came out the week before Thanksgiving? No way! Who knows, they may be on the LEGO website for "Brick" friday specials next week. Let's not underestimate a smooth marketing campaing by the largest private toy company in the world.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I was at Target today (Erie, PA) and they didn't have the series 3 minifigs in the seasonal stuff yet, but they did have a few polybag sets. I don't have them with me so I don't have the numbers, but there was a star wars set, a toy story army guy set and a world racers speed boat. The world racers was $3.99 so I didn't get it, but the other 2 were $2.99. Usually it's the SW sets that are $3.99! Anyway, just thought I'd share the news. One of my nephews is really interested in the toy story army guys, so I got him a stocking stuffer today! Target also has some sets (Harry Potter, Prince of Persia, and I can't remember what else) buy one get one 50% off. Of course they were pretty well cleaned out of HP stuff.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Amazing...I suppose 11 cases is a bit much, but I'm still very happy for the lucky guy that got them, for 25% off too! And I just love that lime green color scheme for this series!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

yes!!!I`m sooooooooooooo lucky!!!I live like 30 hours away from Canada`s only Lego store and I`m going to Orlando,Florida on Mon. so im going to the store there.....hopefully I get some : )( :

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

I suppose this confirms that they're not prototypes after all. Was really hoping for some improved designs (especially the alien), but ah well! Can't wait til they start appearing across the pond!

Gravatar
By in United States,

YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! :) (I live in WA!) I wish these ones were better figs though, I only like the two space guys and the elf.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

the lego store in canada does not have them or any 2011 lego sets, because they claim that they are stuck in custems!

Gravatar
By in United States,

SWEEEEEEEET!!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Anybody find any in Minnesota?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Please let us not encourage this type of behavior, I can only hope most of us were taught to enjoy things in moderation, as goes with any hobby. Be considerate, practice basic human dignity and keep the good practice of Lego as a adult hobby intact. Hoarding and speculating in this manner, let alone bragging about it in a blog later, are in no way correct displays of responsible, respectable AFOL.

Those individuals at Brickpop set a bad example for all. Lets not let them define who AFOL's are.
I hope Brickset and other major Lego community sites will agree with this message.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I know how to tell what is in the baggies. Ultrasound machine. You can pick up one for $500 - $1000 at a surplus auction.
you would need to process thru a lot figs to make it worthwhile. I would bet anything it would work.

Gravatar
By in United States,

If you guys read the blog you would know that it is 11 box between three people not just one. So three/four boxes per person. Still a lot but not as bad as 11 for one person as some of you are thinking

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I have to agree with the general sentiment. Snapping up *so* many boxes seems pretty poor.

They spent how much money on the things? I just want the ten-or-so figures from the line that I want. Buying hundreds of them seems a *tremendous* waste of money.

But then, with no way to identify the figures, I'm probably gonna pass anyway. And buy 'em from Bricklink sellers. I don't have the time or money to buy dozens of the things, just on the tiny chance I'll get the specific ones I want by chance.

Gravatar
By in Malaysia,

Is it just the US or is it slated for international release by this year as well? It's just too much, too soon. TLG could be banking on this minifigs series line thinking they have a frenzy going on like how series 1 was. But I'd like them to space the series out to give time for the excitement to settle, then let it build again and then to look forward to the next one. It was exciting when series1 first came, even more when they announced series2, but now we're into series3 and even 4 soon i should presume, it's begining to get a bit jaded. Not to mention we only just got series 2 here in october.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Hmm... Hard choice here. The gorilla and the mummy are perfection but I just don't know.
I'm with Zordboy"...seems a tremendous waste of money...I don't have the...money to buy dozens...on the tiny chance I'll get the...ones I want..." Sorry for so heavily editing that Zordboy!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

No worries. Lego would have to have some way of knowing what they're packing into each box, you know? Someone'll crack this, we just need to give people time :).

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@ Zordboy - I'm sure the system is something along the lines of: stick parts into identical bags and place in one of 16 bins. For each box, take four from bin 1, four from bin 2, three from bin 3, etc, etc. So the contents and order of each box would be identical. But you'd need someone to buy a complete box, open them all and publish the order, then find an un-touched box in store, in order to pick what you want.

Back to the other point: who needs sixteen complete sets for themselves ? I hope the minifigures become widely available to leave hoarders with piles of un-wanted stock.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

@ mission_zed - re : your last comment "I hope the minifigures become widely available to leave hoarders with piles of un-wanted stock" - I completely agree. It would just serve them right.

Gravatar
By in United States,

You can never stop greed. This guy most likely saw how popular that items were in the past and said okay I am going to get them so I can be the first one to sell them to those "crazy lego people". I bet this guy is not going to flood the market with his purchase. Most likely he will take other steps to get his purchase out. Craigslist, bricklink, ebay, and other ways.

On to the question of how many boxes would you buy? I think I am going to buy 1 or 2 boxes. Depending on what the first box provides me with. Thou it would be cool to have a gorilla army fighting an army of elves.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Here in Michigan stores were lucky to get 1 or 2 boxes of series 1 and 2. If one stor had more than 10 you know lego is makeing way more than before. By the way series 2 figs are at all Meijers store in the Chrictmas section.

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

There's clearly no 5-minifigures-per-customer policy in that store then...

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

I'm just gonna get 1 sealed box with 3 other mates and then we hopefully get a complete series each. Simple.

I think lego will be supplying a lot more for series 3, as they're prepared this time round. So you might be able to get them cheaper on bricklink then from a shop, especially the unwanted figs...

@ avacadoturban lol

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Oh how everybody laughed when Jeff gave his entertaining talk at Brickcon about minifigs. We proclaimed him a hero for airing the opinions about rarity and resale values, and chuckled when he talked about firing mimes off on rockets or compared the figs to a virus.

Now lots of you think he's a greedy hoarder for buying 3-4 boxes for himself (which if you read down the article are for himself and his kids - not for scalping on BL and E-bay) while two of his buddies do the same.

Oh no, somebody has something I don't! He must be evil!! There's no way i will get any series 3 figs now because some guys in one city bought 11 boxes a month before release date!!!

I know one guy who bought 7 cases of series 2, from a Bricklink seller. He paid a very good price including shipping and as somebody mentioned above, boxes of both series are still available if you look for them. If you can't afford them, then I sympathise with you, i'm in the same boat, but these guys obviously can afford them and they were lucky enough to stumble across a pile of them, so most of the negativity here is pure jealousy.

I say good luck to them. If I had a few hundred dollars in my pocket and stumbled across these I would have easily bought a case or two myself.

Gravatar
By in United States,

It doesn't surprise me to see them so fast, but they want too much right now. Have you seen eBay prices? People want $6 plus for buy it now and some bids. Crazy!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

The people buying them at the inflated prices need to be patient. My prediction is that there will be a ton of these around and the prices will be low for a good 3-4 months. Eventually the prices on rarer or army builders will go up, but for now I think we all just need to step out of the hype and the let figs find their way to us.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I agree with Tervlon. The minifigs will eventually make their way to TRUs, Targets, Walmarts, and Lego Stores, and I'm sure there will be plenty for all. From what I can gather, the Minifigs are only at this one store (Fred Myers, which we don't seem to have here in the Midwest) and I'm not sure why that store has them and no one else.

Instead of worrying about hoarders, I think people's biggest concern should be how they are going to get a full set and not have to buy a whole case themselves. I'm hoping to find a couple other Chicago-area friends to split a case with, that way I don't have to go through the frustration of buying tons of packets myself just to get the 16 I want. Hopefully there's 3 full sets in each case again.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

here is the amount of minifigs per case:
•5 figs in the case – Sumo Guy, Alien with Raygun, Mummy with Scorpion, Octan Team Race Car Driver
•4 figs in the case – Mountaineer Guy, Samurai Guy, Man in Ape Suit with Banana, Baseball Player with Bat, Tennis Lady
•3 figs in the case – Native American Chief, Elfin Bowman, Terminator Space Guy, Rapper, Snowboard Chick, Hula Girl
•2 figs in the case – Fisherman
this is a unopened case, and their is only two complete sets!

Gravatar
By in United States,

@chicagorando BrickPop reviewed his boxes and says that he only got 2 fisherman in the box he opened. If this is consistent it could mean we are no longer getting 3 sets per box. It could also mean a few other things, his box had been messed with before he bought it, its an error, or the distribution is more random than before. Who knows at this point. Here is hoping we can get three sets per box...

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Is there any confirmation as to whether the Series 3's have barcodes or not?

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Jaladir Series 3 does NOT have barcodes.

Gravatar
By in United States,

chicagorando, with only 2 fishermen per box, it makes it difficult to split three ways with friends since there are only 2 complete sets .. and then the fisherman becomes even more pricey on the gray market. the whole collectible minifig thing is silly .. silly fun when you're not taking it too seriously, and silly stupid when you are. that said, i want a gorilla suit guy *real bad*. :D

Gravatar
By in United States,

Only 2 fishermen! Bah, that ruins my whole plan! I was hoping 3 people could split a case of 60, each getting a complete set of 16 and just 4 "extras". Looks like I'm going to have to devise a new plan (or hope that BrickPop's box wasn't representative of how the minifigs are distributed in their cases).

Gravatar
By in United States,

@chicagorando: Maybe the 'figs in each box are random now.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I am itching for some Baseball Players for a stadium project :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

I picked up an UNOPENED box in Salem, OR and had the same distribution as R4-G9 with just two Fisherman...
Looks like it's fairly consistent

Gravatar
By in United States,

i should try to hit a lego store next month... I'TL BE FILLED TO THE BRIM!!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Seems like Lego doesn't even want you to be able to buy a box and share it between 3 people then. I guess they figure they'll grab 1/3 extra profit from AFOL's this way.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water...

Also, let's keep the comments friendly here or they'll be deleted.

One person's hoarding is another's collecting is another's investing. Everyone can just agree to disagree and leave it at that. I think most of us are confident that Series 3 will be much more widely available and none of us is quite sure yet what impact, if any, the lack of a discernible barcode is going to have on sales.

Of course, only 2 fishermen and 3 elf/elfs/elves in each box is kind of a downer...

Gravatar
By in United States,

if i had the same chance to buy series 3 11 cases i would have. being out of work and a chance to make some extra money i would be all over it. i think when i buy mine i am going to take a needle, poke a small hole in it then vacuum the air out to see what is inside so that way i can have a set sealed then one open. then the rest i can return.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I want two Gorilla Suit Guys. One mask on, the other off. I want others, but those are my 'must haves'.

Gravatar
By in Philippines,

I know I made a comment here before...But, just to add, I'll probably select only a few figs...probably just the elf...a few elves, that is! :-)

Gravatar
By in United States,

I got some from a Fred Meyer in Port Orchard, Wa, they are all gone now but there were two boxes.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Perfect! I'll be heading over to USA next week! Anyone know how much tax is added to the items purchased if I'm in CA? and or NYC?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Almost 10% sales tax here in CA

Gravatar
By in United States,

Hey hey now! FBTB is posting that the code to identifying the minifigs has been cracked! http://www.fbtb.net/

Gravatar
By in United States,

Almost all of the Fred Meyers in the Portland Oregon area had them. I got a box, and they still had lots of minifigures out for sale. All the Toy reps said they were getting more boxes in and to check back every morning, especially tomorrow morning since Thursday evenings are their double shipment days. They would know by 7am and would also hold for you. I will have extras if anyone ends up looking for some. Just want to have a set for each of my boys.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Bumps instead of barcodes - I love it! And hopefully Series 4 will be the same way! Who knows about Series 5 though; Lego keeps trying to stay one step ahead of us. ;)

Gravatar
By in United States,

@dOOdz...NYC sales tax is 8.875%.
Amazing that some one figured out those bumps. Unreal...;)

Gravatar
By in United States,

You know in retrospect, maybe my criticism about his purchasing size was unfounded and everything considered, if the store didn't place a limit on his order, then personal freedoms should reign regardless of his intent for usage of the product.

That being said, I still think his blog was written in poor taste, very insensitive to those whose struggles have just begun against this season's Christmas crowds and whatever other burdens we may face in obtaining these figures at this time. Blogging that you received over 600 minifigs in large font and caps isn't very respectful to those who will worry if we will even manage a complete set of series 3.

So moderation aside, I think Hillel needs much more maturity in his posts keeping in mind the situation of some of his (fans) blog followers. The man does also have a bit of a arrogance about him.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Just bought a baseball player and tennis player on eBay for $6.50 for BOTH including shipping! Not bad I do say so myself! Cool about the "bump" thing. I will keep that in mind if I see them in stores. I still have Spartans, vampires, witches, and mr maracas just in case anyone wants to trade for a mummy or rapper or snowboarder.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

@ minifigleaf- thank you for the link. what are the chances of there being different bumps for the US and the rest of world as per the barcodes on series 1 & 2? So far I have been impressed with all minifigs from both series (except maybe the crash dummy, wrestler, and robot), and #3 is no different.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I was too upset to post last night but now that Patrick has asked us to keep the comments friendly I'll just second what Moebius said and thank "That Guy" at FBTB for cracking the code. That's brilliant.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Cool So maybe it's best to get it in NYC. Can anyone help me? I have approx 1hr 50mins layover in Dallas Airport would there be enough time to visit the Dallas Lego Shop there? ie. Get cab from Airport -> LegoShop then come back? Would it be better to just get it in CA or NYC? I cant wait to go visit a REAL Lego shop in USA! :)

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Oh and another thing how do people store all these mini figs? I want to make a display case for them somehow but not sure..

Gravatar
By in United States,

Lego sells a minifigure display case that holds 15 minifigures. It sells for $15.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Hah! I knew it, I knew there had to be a way Lego knew what was in each case. And I knew someone somewhere would figure out the code, and crack it. God bless you, internet :).

Gravatar
By in United States,

I TOTALLY CALLED IT! I was asking on an other forum if anyone thought these would be out earlier, series 2 came out about a month before schedule, and I couldn't see LEGO releasing this RIGHT AFTER CHRISTMAS it seems like a waste.

I read an article saying that supposedly stores would be receiving 12 BOXES! The article mention how series 2 had 2-4 boxes at walmart/target, about 6 at TRU and 8 at lego stores, dont quote me on those number I already forgot and lost the article. BUt the point is that now all stores such as target/walmart will have 12 boxes so there will be a much larger quantity.

So how about we start helping each other out and start mentioning where everyone is finding these, it is safe to assume that only Fred Myers has them so far?

I'm really hoping they make their way down to So Cal soon

@ minifigleaf and that guy - You two are the best. This is almost easier than barcodes - no more checking each individual line. Just check where the three or four dots are positioned and yay!

@ minifigleaf thanks so much. I thought the idea of going thirds with friends was a good one, but I don't have any AFOL friends!! so yippee, can't wait for them arrive in Australia now. Have downloaded the bumps codes and will keep it in my wallet.

With series 2 at TRU in NC, USA, the stores marked them up from $2.99 to $3.99 right before a %off sale, and never went back down...they just pulled them and sent them elsewhere. So the prices on these are very volatile. There is only one store that had them in the whole eastern part of state, so that may be why. I hope they end up a closeout stores here for around $2. I only managed to get a few of set 2 and never saw any of set 1.

@clowndiscus That sucks that Freddy's is charging $2.99. At the Tigard store I saw the price tag at $1.99 but they were sold out. My wife got some for me last week at the Tualatin store for $1.99 each. It's a bummer if Freddy's is going to start upping the price.

I've just found this today, so apologies if it's been circulated already, but this guy is mental - 301 Spartan minifigs! No wonder AFOL are bulk/panic buying!
