Summer Friends sets now available, Sheffield & Manchester opening dates!
Posted by LostInTranslation, 19 Jul 2012 14:40. Filed under shop.LEGO.com (UK).
As you may have seen in the "New at shop.lego.com" banner, the summer Friends sets are now available for purchase from shop.Lego.com. I hope I'm not the only one excited about these sets - there are some great sets in the range, my favourites being Adventure Camper, Mia's Bedroom and Summer Riding Camp - but maybe that's just because I got to help build those for display at The Lego Show! What do you think of the new Friends sets, with their primary focus on the theme of horse-riding?In other news, the Stores page at shop.Lego.com has also revealed the 'soft' opening dates for the new stores Up North. Sheffield will be opening on Friday 27th July (http://stores.lego.com/en-us/Sheffield/LandingPage.aspx) but Manchester is apparently opening on Friday 20th July - yes, tomorrow! (http://stores.lego.com/en-us/Manchester/LandingPage.aspx).
The Grand Opening events (with the promotional items, which are yet to be announced) will be at a later date (24-26th August for Manchester, 31st August-2 September for Sheffield) but if you're local to the Manchester store, why not pop down tomorrow and let us know what you think of it!
(Thanks to bluemoose for making me a news editor; sorry I messed it up a little at first :( )

As you can see from the 'New at shop.LEGO.com' ribbon above, Monster Fighters have made an appearance at shop.LEGO.com in the UK. Whether they are supposed to have or not, remains to be seen. Better get your order in before LEGO changes its mind again, like they did with Star Wars two weeks ago...

Now you see them, now you don't...
Posted by Huw, 06 Jun 2012 12:03. Filed under shop.LEGO.com (UK).
The summer Star Wars sets have all been removed from shop.LEGO.com in the UK. Firox 5000 says that he posted on LEGO's wall when Jabba's Palace disappeared earlier in the week and was told they shouldn't have been put there in the first place. Luckily I got my order in early and they arrived today...
It seems as if the best place to order them now is Amazon.es
where most of them can be had for cheaper than in the UK anyway. Postage to the UK is usually very reasonable, too, I am told.

Maersk container ship back at shop.LEGO.com
Posted by Huw, 06 Mar 2012 11:12. Filed under shop.LEGO.com (UK).
One of the best sets ever made, 10155 Maersk container ship, is available once more from shop.LEGO.com in Europe. Its price has been reduced, too, from £102 to £82 in the UK and from €109 to €87 in Germany.
This set, and the one it replaced (10152, different stickers), have been available on and off since 2004 which is pretty remarkable because I'm sure at the time in 2004 LEGO said that it would be a short run and the last set to use Maersk blue because they had no more granulate in that colour...
So, If you don't already have one, I highly recommend you buy it now before it really is too late. As I say, it is one of the finest models ever released.
(Thanks bezetkace who emailed and roxio in the forum for the news)

2012 sets now listed at shop.LEGO.com
Posted by Huw, 23 Dec 2011 15:18. Filed under shop.LEGO.com (UK).
The 2012 sets have been added to shop.LEGO.com in the UK and probably elsewhere in Europe already, 3 days earlier than expected.
I've just finished building this RattleCopter and have to say, it's stunning! Get your order in now and I suspect you'll get them before the New Year.
Update: surprisingly, these are now all appearing in our product feed already. You can see everything added to the site on our What's New at shop.LEGO.com page.

25% off Winter Toy Shop
Posted by Huw, 14 Dec 2011 03:44. Filed under shop.LEGO.com (UK).
I've just read in the forum that the Winter Toy Shop is 25% off, now just £33.74, at shop.LEGO.com, which is a bit of a bargain. If you don't have it, order today for delivery before Christmas (with free shipping as it's over £25) and if you do, well, stock up this year because next year it's bound to be in demand on the secondary market.

'Brick Friday' offers at shop.LEGO.com
Posted by Huw, 25 Nov 2011 03:47. Filed under shop.LEGO.com (UK).
Although we don't have Black Friday here in the UK, LEGO has joined a growing number of online retaliers that is nevertheless offering us promotions over this weekend. Unfortunately it's nothing to get too excited about, and is the same as the VIP offer last weekend. This might be your last chance to get the second holiday set (330002).So the offers are...
- 10% off all orders of £100 or more.
- Free Limited Edition Holiday set featuring Santa Minifigure with orders of £50 or more.
- Free delivery on all orders of £25 or more.
- All offers valid 25th – 28th November 2011.
There are some new items reduced but unfortunately they are all extended product lines, and no proper sets. Still, you might find something of interest so check out the Sales and Deals page. However the Maersk Container Ship 10155 IS still available at 30% off so combine it with something for £30 to hit the 10% off barrier and get it even cheaper, shipped free and with the holiday set too!

Free delivery and limited edition Christmas set
Posted by Huw, 14 Oct 2011 13:58. Filed under shop.LEGO.com (UK).
So says the email I received from the LEGO UK affiliate team:
"In addition to continued Double VIP points, LEGO Shop will now be offering Free Delivery and a Limited Edition Christmas set with all purchases of £50 or more. This offer is valid 17th-31st October. The Limited Edition Christmas set is part 1 of a 2 part set. The second set will be available 25-28th November."
I wonder what it is? There's no word (that I can see) on LEGO.com yet, so I guess we'll have to wait until Monday to find out.
Update: the offer is also good in the USA and Canada, for purchases over $99.

25% off Imperial Shuttle (not any more!)
Posted by Huw, 01 Sep 2011 09:32. Filed under shop.LEGO.com (UK).
There's no doubting that the Imperial Shuttle is a nice model, but at £245, it's a bit on the expensive side, particularly when compared with the price in the USA.
Well it seems LEGO has recognised this too because it's now reduced the price to £183.99, which is a reduction of 25%. Still expensive, but a bit more palatable. It's not appearing as a sale price on the site so it does seem as if it's a 'readjustment'.
I might even be tempted to buy it myself at that price. If you are too, here's a direct link to it at shop.LEGO.com.
Thanks to OllieL for the news, who also states that 'there is free shipping September 1st-18th and orders over £50 get an extra 50 VIP points so if you buy the Imperial Shuttle you get £10 worth of VIP points off your next purchase.'
The US price appears to have remained the same, at $259.
Update: Did the 'Brickset effect' strike again? Within hours of this article being published the price jumped back up to £245. I hope some of you were lucky enough to get your order in beforehand. I wasn't!

LEGOshop.com sales and deals
Posted by Huw, 22 Aug 2011 17:23. Filed under shop.LEGO.com (UK).
I'm not sure if this has just started or if I'm late to the party, but there's a half-decent sale on at LEGOshop.com featuring some decent sets for a change, including the pig farm for just £16.19 instead of £27, and some of last year's Atlantis for a similar discount.

Jedi Starfighter is being reduced tomorrow
Posted by Huw, 21 Dec 2010 14:02. Filed under shop.LEGO.com (UK).
I have it on good authority that the Obi-Wan's Jedi Startfighter (10215) will be reduced by 30% tomorrow to a more reasonable £66-ish.
LEGO has come to its senses, it seems, probably prompted by a huge unsold stack of them in a warehouse at Billund! It's an excellent model and a very interesting build, but probably not, if I'm honest, worth £95. But £66 is much nearer the mark and if you've been holding out for its price to drop, well, now you're in luck. It'll be at that price until the end of January.
Update: It being tomorrow now :-), the price has indeed been reduced by 30%...

LEGO Universe now half-price
Posted by Huw, 04 Dec 2010 14:02. Filed under shop.LEGO.com (UK).
Merely 6 weeks since it was launched, the LEGO Universe DVD is now half price at £14.99 until 19th December, which is a more reasonable entry-price for the MMOG, particulary since you also receive the 55001 Universe rocket which costs £7.99 in the brand stores so you're effectively getting the game for £7. I haven't played myself but at that price I'm tempted...
One could draw conclusions from this reduction, and a similar one in the USA over Thanksgiving, that it's not selling too well.
Have you played it? It it worth the initial price and subsequent subscription? Are there many other players online when you play? (Can you tell?)
