Those look like some nice mini-figs!!

Actually was up on Monday. And like the bios of them.

Posted by legokenny in United States, 09 Dec 2010 12:09

where is the gorilla suit guy? Everyone else has a picture but him.

Posted by knuclear200x in United States, 09 Dec 2010 12:09

Who is the Gorilla suit guy? Better not tell him he's not a real gorilla! Priceless.

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 09 Dec 2010 12:54

The bios are pretty funny, especially the notation on the rapper winning an award for rhyming words with "orange." I wonder if this is a subtle reference to Eminem as he also spoke about the complexities in rhyming the word "orange" in his 60 Minutes interview a few weeks back. :o)

Posted by BrickBob09 in United Kingdom, 09 Dec 2010 12:57

The Gorilla (suit) has to be my favourite!

Posted by voyanui8768 in United Kingdom, 09 Dec 2010 13:15

I didn't realise that the elf actually has elf ears attached to the hairpiece!

Posted by Necaradan666 in Australia, 09 Dec 2010 13:28

Lego Space being my favoured theme I find the Space Villain's bio very interesting, I've always imagined how all the different Lego themes might fit together in the Lego universe, and now I have some good examples to build on with that Insectoid hive fleet and an M-Tron nebula and so on. The Elf has a good one too, it just makes me wish for that Emerald Dragon Cave set to be actually produced.

Posted by legoman98 in United Kingdom, 09 Dec 2010 14:07

Has anyone actually realised that in the pilot's bio it says he "flew a rocket to Mars to stop an invasion of water-stealing Moon Men." Doesn't that remind anyone of last years doctor who episode in november lol :D

Posted by mattdiss in United States, 09 Dec 2010 14:15

Just out of curiosity, why have you used the drawn minifigs for the database instead of photos? I was a little surprised to see bendy legs.

Posted by BrickBob09 in United Kingdom, 09 Dec 2010 15:24

@legoman98, it does remind of that episode- I stopped collecting the minifigs after series 1 but may get that space villian to match the space man...

Posted by Leela in Poland, 09 Dec 2010 16:58

I love the Gorilla Guy's quote: "Ook!" Sweet :)

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 09 Dec 2010 17:02

@mattdiss, because LEGO don't release 'proper' photos for them, unfortunately. We did have a partial set for series 1, but I decided to change them for consistency.

Yay this is great new thank you!

Posted by Seagull in United States, 09 Dec 2010 17:14

Hopefully I'll get to Target today.

Posted by DarthVader# in United States, 09 Dec 2010 19:25

Actually, I found the minifigs at a Toys R Us. Didn't have to wait for ebay.

Posted by garage2917 in United States, 09 Dec 2010 19:46

Just found Series 3 at the TRU in Ft. Collins Colorado. They were $3.99 each, but I still got the buy one get one 50% off. The sad thing is that they are limiting the quantity to 5 per person. Luckily I had my nephew so I got 10 total! I wonder if they will continue to limit the number to five like they did on series 1. I don't remember TRU limiting the quantity on series 2. Any ideas? Was series 3 a larger manufacturing run?

Posted by teamj2010 in United States, 09 Dec 2010 20:03

Does anyone want to trade? I have extra Aliens, Gorilla Guy, Tennis Player, Race Car Driver, Snowboarder, Sumo, Samurai and pilot. I need Hula Girll Rapper, Mummy and fisherman. I found series 3 at Toys R Us. First at 2.99, then 3.99. Total rip off.

Posted by SJPlego in United States, 09 Dec 2010 21:08

The Space Villain is simply awesome. LEGO made an excellent marketing choice by placing an all-too-familiar "B" on his uniform and referencing classic Space themes in his bio. Now AFOLs will run to the nearest toy store just to buy an army of this guy.

Which means I've got to get out and see if the local Toys R Us has this series yet... after all, I want to nab a Space Villain, an Elf, and a Samurai before everyone else takes them all...

First Rench, now Space Villain... it's almost as though LEGO is building up to a possible return of Blacktron.

Posted by voypro in United States, 09 Dec 2010 21:23

@SJPlego - Space villain / Cyborg is one of the harder to find. it is on par with Hula Girl, Indian Chief seems 3 per box. Fisherman is the hardest bar none (2 per box). I wish Lego would take the rubbish figures like race car driver, or ser 2 Traffic Cop, and make them the ultra rare ones, it would make them at least somewhat desirable.

Posted by Acadia in United States, 09 Dec 2010 21:28

I found Series 3 at Meijer selling for $1.99 each. Couldn't pass up buying a box.

Posted by Seagull in United States, 09 Dec 2010 22:16

Zip, zero, nada at Target. :(

Posted by C-Fish in United States, 09 Dec 2010 22:30

Hmm... Lego's making a lot of female minifigures, which I suppose is a good thing, right?

I'm adding quotes to all my Bionicle BrickLists! Check them out! I'm not done yet, though. (I just started on "Bionicles of Light".)

Posted by sinfanti in Taiwan, Province of China, 09 Dec 2010 22:34

More female minifigs is definitely a good thing. I want my daughter to stay interested in the hobby. I'd rather be playing Lego with her than playing Barbie.

Posted by LobsterWarrior in United States, 09 Dec 2010 23:09

@teamj2010 - I can trade for some series 2 minfigures! Just let me see if my parents let me, contact me through e-mail please.

Posted by Carnigee77 in United States, 09 Dec 2010 23:48

Has anyone seen them at target?

Posted by copperwonder96 in United States, 10 Dec 2010 00:00

I agree with sinfanti. Need more Lego female figures. Would like to see more empowerment roles like programmer, chemist or professor. Seeing as those are difficult to make into stereotype characters that children identify with, they are likely to stick with traditional female icons like bride, dancer and queen. If that's the case then I'd like to see a French Bourgeoisie with a white wig from the 17th century or perhaps Cleopatra or an American pioneer woman with bonnet and baby (print the trophy as a minifig baby!)

Hey gang, a question on the S3 crib sheet for the dots. Some are shown as white dots and some are dark dots? What is that supposed to mean? Are these coming from different sources and combined here? The elf should be the easiest to spot because it's the only one with 7 dots. I haven't actually seen any S3 figs here in TW yet. Maybe the answer will be obvious when I finally get my hands on them. Thanx.

Posted by jwsmart in United States, 10 Dec 2010 11:36

@sinfanti - I think the lighter colored dots on the sheet correspond to lighter impressions on the plastic. It's a bit tricky to ID the figs just by the dots. I use the dots mostly for confirmation of what I feel in the bag.

Posted by Matthew in United Kingdom, 10 Dec 2010 11:37

Huw, are the S1 proper photos still there as additional images? If not please can you put them back?

Posted by legoman98 in United Kingdom, 10 Dec 2010 11:38

The part i most like of their bios is around 1/3 of them are related to tv episodes or movies and then another third are related to game, then the rest link in with original lego themes :D

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 10 Dec 2010 12:20

@sinfanti - Please note that we don't yet know if the North American Series 3 "dimple patterns" will be the same for the Rest of the World. But as jwsmart noted, the white circles represent those dimples that are much more faint. I've browsed S3 figures 4x and am still having difficulty identifying certain ones...

@voypro - S2 cop is awesome! :o)

@copperwonder96 - my wife and I used to argue about the S1 minifigures. I'd ask her to hand me the nurse and she'd say, "The Doctor?"

Posted by jwsmart in United States, 10 Dec 2010 14:33

@yellowcastle - I've had good luck identifying the Racecar Driver by feeling for both pieces of headgear.

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 10 Dec 2010 15:01

@jwsmart - My rule of thumb has always been to find that one discernible accessory. Unfortunately, the Racecar Driver has very similar accessories to both the Cyborg and Snowboarder. Oh, what fun. :o)

@yellowcastle RE: Fisherman

I have an important observation of an omission/error on your cheat sheet. The Fisherman. First off he seems the hardest fig to determine by the dots. But, I just got two fisherman today at my TRU with very clear dots. You have 3 dots on your sheet, but as I read from left to right, there are at least 4.

The first dot is place correctly on your sheet. but on mine it is cluster of maybe 3 (picture this-> '; two dots on right of the cluster are more merged, a bit like the Elf) so the whole thing looks more like cluster than one dot.

The second and last dot are exactly as shown your example sheet.

BUT there is a 3rd dot which is placed directly under the B in the embedded number 537B0. Giving the 2 dots on the right a very similar arrangement as the Elf. Infact, on the Fisherman if you move the 2nd dot over to the left and up a bit....you got the Elf pattern.

Granted the two fisherman i picked up today had very easy dots to read, but my read on them is correct. I will try to post photos.

Of course, the easiest way for me to find the fisherman is that it the packages is one of the thinnest. then I feel for the string. Fisherman is the only one with a string.

Anyone else seen this on their fisherman?

Posted by voypro in United States, 10 Dec 2010 16:45

Again, here is the pattern on my Fisherman. These are two packs, both fisherman

@voypro - I believe I picked up another Fisherman last night. I'll take a peek this weekend to confirm what you're seeing. I can definitely tell you that the my initial packets did not look anywhere near as clear as yours. Doh! Based on your pictures, the Elf and Fisherman may end up appearing very similar. And maybe it's just me, but I had no luck looking for the fishing line or fish but was successful twice finding the lure on the end of the line. :o)

I have 3 Tribal Chiefs, 2 Pilots, 1 Racecar Driver and 1 Sumo Wrestler to trade. I need the Samurai Warrior, can anyone help out?

Posted by brickmatt in United States, 10 Dec 2010 21:55

I found them at Evansville, IN TRU for the first time today. I found that some of the packages were relatively hard to read, due partly to some faint dots and some handling. I ended up buying 5 based solely on the dot patterns, and had a 60% percent success rate in predicting them:

Thought it was: Pilot Got: Pilot
Thought it was: Tribal Chief Got: Tribal Chief
Thought it was: Baseball Player Got: Baseball Player
Thought it was: Race Car Driver Got: Elf
Thought it was: Gorilla Got: Another pilot

Thanks Yellowcastle. I guess we'll see pretty soon if the rest of world gets different dots similar to how TLG did the barcodes.
