I've made a whole bunch of improvements to the site over the last month or so and have now made them live. You can read what's changed on the new change log page. Please let me know what you think in the comments!

These are my way of thanking all of you for clicking through on the eBay, Amazon and LEGO links over the past year.

If you notice any problems of encounter any errors, let me know.

Update: a few people have emailed to say they are having trouble logging in, they attempt to and their password is accepted (i.e. no error is shown) but they remain not logged in. The fix for this is to delete your browser cookies for Brickset.com, which if you have IE8 you can do by pressing F12 then Cache in the menu of the developer tools, then Clear cookies for domain.

Update 2: Adding set info does not work in FireFox for some reason. It works fine in IE8, Chrome, Opera and Safari but not FF. It's a JavaScript problem that I can't tie down. If you're an expert in such things, get in touch!

I really like all of the improvements! They add a lot and make this site better and more fun. Although, I still wish the 'my profile page' could have a larger amount of space for typing.

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 27 Dec 2010 05:58

^ You can now enter 2000 characters in this area, although the editing area itself hasn't increased in size.

This site keeps getting better and better! Well done Huw on the great improvements.

Keep up the good work! The profile page looks much better now. I'll have a look on the rest of the changes too.

I! LOVE! IT!!! Wow, Brickset is now better than ever! Hm, looks like my good buddy HQuiff is top in the Silver medals! :) ;)

Posted by Legolijntje in Netherlands, 27 Dec 2010 08:40

That are very good improvements! There is one thing of the many things I hoped for that isn't changed: avatars.
I want avatars at the comments and profiles. But I can't get angry; all that changes are really a improvement for Brickset. Keep it up!

I love the changes, as Alemas put it. One thing, how do you see peoples medals??

Posted by mkoesel in United States, 27 Dec 2010 10:34

Sorting = very high value add. Will use again and again. :)

Posted by Kobacca in United States, 27 Dec 2010 10:34

Huw, e-mailing you doesn't work on my computer, but I wanted to let you know that on the minifig browser thumbnails, the Pirates and Castle pictures are switched.

Posted by C-Fish in United States, 27 Dec 2010 11:16

Very nice improvements. I still think a Bionicle comics section would be nice, though... :-(
On another note, how do you determine if a review is "helpful"?

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 27 Dec 2010 11:27

Sorting Results = Awesome :o)

Posted by Nerd in United States, 27 Dec 2010 11:42

I would like if the set info would be displayed with the info tab, and with the user info at the bottom. It would also be nice if BrickSet has a special "Print" window for my LEGO collection. Right now I can't print it without some of the info getting mixed-up.

Thanks for the improvements Huw, some very useful additions there!

Posted by legomaniac in United States, 27 Dec 2010 13:05

Love the adding pictures to the set reviews option!

Posted by Zacherano in United States, 27 Dec 2010 13:22

I've checked out most of the new features, and they're all awesome! Thanks Huw. :-)

Posted by jonbuddy in United States, 27 Dec 2010 14:25

Thanks for the help in clearing the cookies, Huw!

Also, I noticed something funny: On the news articles, some parts of the actual text and the "X comments" links are pushed over as if they were tabbed! :D To fix this you just wave your mouse over it. Don't fix it if you don't want to, Huw, it's funny. :-)

Hi Huw. I would really like a way of selecting all the sets listed on the screen for either wanted or owned - so for example I could look at all the Star Wars sets in 2011 and then with one click mark them as wanted, rather than clicking each separate tick box. Would it be possible to add a "select all" tick box in the column header perhaps?

Really liking your updates, especially the ability to sort results, and ability to upload pictures in reviews. Brickset goes from strength to strength.

Posted by Berrybrick in United States, 27 Dec 2010 15:51

Thanks, I was worried about not being able to get on.

Posted by Matthew in United Kingdom, 27 Dec 2010 15:58

These are fantastic! Thanks Huw. If you look at my profile you'll see where the text was cut off. Now I just need the time to type it all again! The user generated info is fantastic: we can use it for sales and CM sighting. Does it have to be approved? Can we use it for CM swapping? or can you make us a topic where we can in the comments? One other improvement though that you could do: I'm no tech guy but I've used webs and weebly so I know about all the page types. Could you insert one in the style of the main page that anyone can add articles to? Instead of a forum. I would be a moderator. Please Huw?

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 27 Dec 2010 17:45

@jonbuddy, it shouldn't do that. Which browser are you using? Can you send me a screenshot?

Posted by CharlieTheFunEngine in Australia, 27 Dec 2010 18:41

Very, very nice changes.

Posted by jonbuddy in United States, 27 Dec 2010 21:03

^^How do I send one through brickset? I am using IE8.

Posted by TheKingOfBuilding in United Kingdom, 28 Dec 2010 05:26

Hello Huw, I was just wondering how do I access my un-published Bricklists? Before you updated the profile page, when logged into my account, I could see my un-published Bricklists. Please could you tell me how to see them?

Posted by atkinsar in United Kingdom, 28 Dec 2010 07:03

Hi Huw, an RSS feed for the community set content would be useful, especially as it's going to contain the odd bit of 'saw this set cheap at so and so' information.

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 28 Dec 2010 07:20

^^ They are now listed on the main bricklists page, in the menu.

^ Great idea, that should be easy enough to do.

I am confused with all these medals everywhere...what are they?

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 28 Dec 2010 17:52

Posted by jonbuddy in United States, 29 Dec 2010 11:56

Can anyone tell me how to view all the sets year by year, so it looks like the year with two arrows pointing away from it on each side? (it won't let me show that in text on the comments)

Posted by jonbuddy in United States, 29 Dec 2010 12:05

(double post because it's a new subject)

Can you do a member browser thing like you do with sets? You could do "Members with most sets" or "Members with most pieces".

Posted by Gus263 in N/A, 30 Dec 2010 11:07

Those changes are really helpful! And the top reviewer system rating is much better now.
I wish I had time to put images in my reviews, but some of them are far too old...

@Cap'n Crayfish: I agree, a Bionicle comics section would be cool, too. Other feature I thought would be useful was to sort how much Bionicle masks/acessories a member have, similar to the minifig listing.

Posted by HQuiff in Ireland, 30 Dec 2010 15:39

Love the top reviewers system. Glad to see I'm at top of the Silver medals. ;-) Love Brickset to "pieces" (I'm just that bad).

Posted by Unknown User2596 in United States, 30 Dec 2010 22:52

No problems so far, the only one being that now it takes slightly longer to load the comments on separate news articles. I think the time it takes to load relates to the amount of comments in an article. Usually at most it takes 5 seconds but now it takes at least 15.

Other than that I like the changes!

Posted by Alemas in Germany, 31 Dec 2010 12:37

Hey Huw, remember the end-of-year review for Brickset! :)

Posted by Pepper in United States, 31 Dec 2010 12:50

Thanks for all of the awesome updates, Huw! This is one of the best Lego websites in the world IMO! Looking forward to a great new year of Brickset and Lego.
Happy New Year!

I am missing my Bricklists that i spent six weeks on.

Posted by Gus263 in N/A, 04 Jan 2011 10:21

Somehow my Helpful reviews are decreasing, and I have noted their "helpful" value has been decreased by "one". Guess if it is someone tracking my reviews... And to think this change was supposed to be a good one.
Maybe there is a way to prevent unjust ratings with people's reviews?
By the way, how the top reviewer system works?
At the side of my username there used to be a "80", now it is "65"...

Posted by Berrybrick in United States, 05 Jan 2011 07:00

I think I've found a bug, I created a bricklist on how to make Diagon Alley in three sessions (hit the save for later button) and now, when I check the bricklists on the Diagon Alley page, http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=10217-1, if you select bricklists, and scroll down a bit, you can see that it has been published three times.
