Indiana Jones, would be nice so i could reference my minifig collection

Posted by Orange_Juice in United Kingdom, 16 Jan 2011 05:40

Thank you for posting these pictures of the minifigures, It's nice to see their beautiful details.
I think you should do Indiana Jones next because that was more recent.
Oh and Huw could you possibly do the Collectable Minifigures aswell and will you be planning to make all of the Minifigure gallery's in this layout (Some with out Hi-Res images) because I find it easier to use and I know some people will agree.

Posted by atkinsar in United Kingdom, 16 Jan 2011 06:17

+1 for Indy next (as I have all those!). Oh, and thanks again Huw for these pictures, a great addition to the Lego community.

Posted by Jonny 2 Scarves in United Kingdom, 16 Jan 2011 06:19

Dastan actually appears in 6 sets, not 5 as you listed. The one you have missing is the Brickmaster PoP set.

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 16 Jan 2011 06:58

^ In 20017 he doesn't have the scabbard, so BrickLink thus considers it to be a different minifig (and that as you know is where our data comes from). I didn't include him without it in the gallery.

Posted by ambo100 in United Kingdom, 16 Jan 2011 07:10

Indiana Jones and perhaps the collectable minifigs too?

Posted by DrathMaul1997 in United Kingdom, 16 Jan 2011 07:14

"Spider Man, Spider Man, Does Whatever a Spider can"

Guess Who I'm in favor of?

Posted by Jarod98 in United Kingdom, 16 Jan 2011 07:30

These are by far the best pics taken by you Huw. I can't wait to see more coming, but I can see how it will be difficult to collect all the minifigs. I vote for Indiana Jones, because it's alot bigger (and better) than the Spider-Man theme.

Posted by sharpleaf in Brazil, 16 Jan 2011 07:33

My vote goes to Indiana Jones. But will you soon start the Star Wars gallery?
I think almost nobody haves all the minifigs, but do it with the ones you have...

Posted by Be-Burger in Israel, 16 Jan 2011 08:21

I'd vote for Indy. Then Spiderman. Then... Star Wars, if possible.

And when you get around to Star Wars, if you're missing any of the figures I have a few...

Posted by Berrybrick in United States, 16 Jan 2011 08:24

I would rather see Spiderman because,
1. I never forgave IJ for replacing Adventures
2. I know the details of the IJ chatacters better than those of Spiderman
3. Spiderman would actually make use of the *before the colour change in 2004* button

Posted by BIONICLEGuy in United Kingdom, 16 Jan 2011 10:22

Do Star Wars. Or won't that take a rather long time? Hm, maybe not.
PS: I am not a Star Wars fan.

Posted by BioFreak877 in United States, 16 Jan 2011 10:32

Indiana Jones would be better next.
When are you planning to do the Star Wars figures? Or do you not have all the figs?

Posted by Captain Maersk in United States, 16 Jan 2011 10:33

Thank you for the wonderful work Huw! The pictures are a great addition to Brickset. I wonder if BrickLink will start to use them! I personally would like to see Indiana Jones First; mostly because it is a more recent and recognizable theme and I really regret missing it. I had a few Spidey sets back in the day and I never found them too attractive.

Thanks again and keep up the great work!

Posted by K@czor in Poland, 16 Jan 2011 12:04

I vote for Indiana Jones next :)

Is there a possibility that you'll include Dastan without the scabbard? The old photo looks strange, when you'll open the old minifig browser :)

Posted by KLOKRIECHER in Germany, 16 Jan 2011 12:28

I vote for Indiana Jones, Spider-Man & Star Wars!

Posted by aaronptrck in United States, 16 Jan 2011 12:58

Huw,

When viewing your entire minifigure collection (as I like to to) would it be possible to increase the number of maximum minifigs returned? Presently it's at 500..

Indy next!

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 16 Jan 2011 13:58

It'll be Indy, because I have the figures to hand. I have all the Spider-Man figs but I can't find them all the early ones at the moment. They will probably be next.

I'll add Dastan without the scabbard.

Posted by BrickBoy435 in Ukraine, 16 Jan 2011 14:28

Thanks for those new minifig galleries!
I think Spider-Man would be better. Next maybe Indy or even Star Wars)))

Posted by the_real_indy in United States, 16 Jan 2011 15:55

Definitely do Indy next, since the minifigs are so international, versatile, and usable in lots of different scenes! =)

For categories, you could do:

-Main Characters & Allies
-Girlfriends
-Brazil/Peru/Latin America
-Russia
-India
-China/Japan/East Asia
-Germany
-Middle East

This is how I organized my Indy armies. I call the "BRIC" nations of antagonistic rivals "The BRICk Coalition!" XD

Too Classic!!

Indy Out

Posted by Berrybrick in United States, 16 Jan 2011 16:20

^Wouldn't Heroes, villians, and other do much better.

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 16 Jan 2011 16:25

Spongebob :P
Nah Indiana Jones would be really nice

Posted by ToughTom in United States, 16 Jan 2011 17:05

Ha youre probably really fearing the Star Wars one huh?

Posted by Legoman113 in United States, 16 Jan 2011 17:49

Indiana Jones, definitely. Star Wars would (or will) be cool if you ever post that.

Posted by vynsane in United States, 16 Jan 2011 18:34

I could see a spotlight gallery of Collectible Minifigures - that would be cool! It would also be a nice way to make the unwritten subthemes be kind of officially recognized as the categories - like monsters, sports (baseball, tennis, hockey), extreme sports (snowboarder, surfer, skater), sci-fi, historic etc - you could then cross-reference by series or by category/subtheme!

Posted by CharlieTheFunEngine in Australia, 16 Jan 2011 19:34

Indy first, then Toy Story and Collectable Minis!

Posted by mysterygoo in United States, 16 Jan 2011 21:32

When you do Star Wars, I'm guessing it would be a real challenge to photograph the chrome minifigs, since they give off like 10x more reflections. The sheer amount of them would be a challenge too. But back on topic, I'll go for Indiana Jones.

Posted by Exus in United States, 16 Jan 2011 21:35

Do Spiderman Next. I owned one Spidey set and would like to see what else they had for his figs.

Posted by fff in Spain, 17 Jan 2011 05:41

Awesome work again. Photos Really Great

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 17 Jan 2011 05:46

Indy photos have been taken, I now need to post-process and name them which I'll do this week.

As for categories goes, I was thinking:

- Indy and family
- Females
- Adversaries
- Soldiers
- Other

I think that should cover most of them.

Posted by Berrybrick in United States, 17 Jan 2011 07:48

Yeah huw, that's fine except most of the females were adversaries, except for Elsa for some time.

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 17 Jan 2011 08:26

^ That may be true but I'm thinking in terms of grouping them primarily for comparison purposes.

Posted by Berrybrick in United States, 17 Jan 2011 08:42

And Marion was technically his family, after the events of KngdmCrstlSkll.

Posted by MasterOfPuzzles in United States, 17 Jan 2011 08:51

Silly question. In the Batman gallery I get a green check mark by the ones I own, but not in PoP or HP. Is there some secret handshake? Or is the Batman behavior abnormal.

Posted by legoguy2805 in United Kingdom, 17 Jan 2011 11:13

These are by far the best minifig pictures ever taken! But Huw, are you going to do the Collectable Minifigures any time soon? That would be extremely useful.

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 17 Jan 2011 11:36

^ Eventually, yes...

^^ Have you updated your collection lately using the link at the bottom left of http://www.brickset.com/mySets/?

Posted by stormtrooper321 in United States, 17 Jan 2011 12:18

Please Indiana Jones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't have any Spider-Man minifigs, but I do have Indiana Jones. Thanks!

Posted by Seagull in United States, 17 Jan 2011 12:33

Indiana Jones, please. Spiderman was OK. Indy all the way!! :D

Posted by LeiaR2D2 in United States, 17 Jan 2011 15:48

Do Indiana Jones, please. Please do Star Wars soon, if possible!
Thanks for taking better pics of the licensed themes minifigures for the gallery. It's really cool!

Posted by The Beast in United States, 17 Jan 2011 16:00

Spongebob and Avatar would be nice to have eventually too, and will you do Pirates of the Carribean when they come out as well. Oh yeah, you should do Toy Story 3 eventually, also.

Posted by Brickmaster7500 in United Kingdom, 17 Jan 2011 16:26

When you get all the minifigures, a Star Wars gallery would be brilliant.

Posted by Zacherano in United States, 17 Jan 2011 17:16

Indiana Jones would be great. I love these galleries! Thanks so much. :-)

Posted by cjg in United States, 17 Jan 2011 18:33

^^^Yes! TS3!

Posted by Uno Brick in United States, 18 Jan 2011 01:21

Can't wait to see the gallery! Thanks again for doing this for Brickset, Huw. Perhaps Toy Story next? One other question, though - sometime yesterday I entered a post casting my vote for IJ, but I've found that it has disappeared; do you know what has happened to it? It was still there for the remainder of the day.

Posted by ceroknight in Canada, 18 Jan 2011 02:02

@Huw, I am also having the same problem as MasterOfPuzzles, I have updated my collection but my Harry Potters don't show...

Posted by Berrybrick in United States, 18 Jan 2011 06:11

I see the Harry Potter figures and one Batman figure I own, but not a check next to Dastan or three of the Hassassins.

Update: Never mind, I never marked that I owned it.

Posted by EliteLeader99/brickboy2 in United States, 18 Jan 2011 10:21

Do Indiana Jones please

Posted by Superblackbiker in United Kingdom, 18 Jan 2011 10:53

SPIDERMAN! plz. :P

Posted by modena in Italy, 18 Jan 2011 11:38

I think that you should have Indiana Jones.
Personally, I know nothing about Spider-man (other than he jumps on walls), I know many more Indiana Jones mini-figs. It's also much more recent!

And please, I would love to have a Star Wars minifig gallery! It's hard to do, with so many minifigs, but I love Star Wars even if I don't own any sets!

Posted by Seagull in United States, 18 Jan 2011 22:54

Star Wars would take forever to do. Soooooo many 'figs...

Posted by Odeinoichus in Canada, 19 Jan 2011 11:53

It's refreshing to see some new pics of the Mini-Figures, and I especially enjoy the fact that this Theme has a lot of little green check marks by them, since I own everything except for Battle of Alamut, Quest Against Time and the BrickMaster Prince of Persia set currently.

I, like many others, really enjoy the look of these new Mini-figure galleries, but I have to question how it will be possible to do one for every single Theme with Mini-Figures. Including some with sets from the late 70's and early 80's, I would think that a lot of those Mini-Figures have seen better days in our (meaning AFOLs) collections due to the long hours of fun we've had playing with them as children.

Unless there are some fans of LEGO out there that kept their Mini-Figures in pristine condition. (Sadly not me, all of my older loose figures have many aged and obvious problems. Chief among them that some of them no longer have the correct heads due to mixing and matching with my Pirates and Town Mini-Figures. Which I gave away to my little cousin when she was much younger. Some of them had no heads at all.)

Anyway, great job Huw, and hopefully this will fix up whatever glitches there are in the Mini-Figure galleries. Or what have you. For some strange reason I'm still missing two Crusaders from my full count of Mini-Figures, even though they show up as being there in the Mini-Figure gallery.

Posted by Mabes in United States, 20 Jan 2011 11:52

To me personally I don't have a preference between those two themes, but I do like what you're doing, the new page format and high quality pictures sure look nice, keep up the good work.

And yeah Star Wars would be awesome, though understandably I'm sure it'll take considerable effort.
