    4195: Queen Anne's Revenge
    Pirates of the Caribbean, 2011
    More details...
    ©2011 LEGO Group

These crystal clear unwatermarked pictures were released overnight on an MTV site, of all places. (Why is it the best stories always break when we here in the UK are tucked up in bed? :-) )

It's strange how LEGO operate, isn't it. One week these are confidential and nobody's allowed to photograph or talk about them, the next they are spashed all over the internet...

Update: I've added them here now.

Those sets look amazing , Especially Queen anne and white cap bay , I want them all.

Posted by LegoAdventures in Australia, 02 Feb 2011 03:48

Phenomenal, these sets look Incredible. Full of Rare Elements and pieces and a diverse range of unique and interesting techniques.

Posted by Corellian Engineering in Belgium, 02 Feb 2011 04:01

These do look great!.. Pretty obvious now that the former leaked pic were prelim...
Seems there also will be some interesting new pieces, (building and minifig gear), or new colors of existing ones..
Nice to see too that the round ribbed 2x2 piece out of the 2011 Atlantis will be avialable in other colors too.. (thought I did see some black, red and grey in the City-space pics too)
Though I am not realy into pirate themes, I guess I will get at least a couple of the smaller sets... if only for the figs..
Pitty Jack only comes with jacket and hat in the more expensive sets... as do the female characters... TLG should work on some more equal gender distribution.. :-)

Great morning news !

Posted by IG-88 in Australia, 02 Feb 2011 04:28

My goodness these images are just Amazing! I love the Colors, Mini-figs and ... Everything! It all looks Incredible. I can see this line getting sold out very quick!

Posted by Snowhive in Germany, 02 Feb 2011 04:40

Absolut great sets! Who don't want them....

Posted by Anonymous in Australia, 02 Feb 2011 04:44

wow this looks great, the price for us Aussie, will make our wallets bleed no doubt

Posted by Berrybrick in United States, 02 Feb 2011 06:17

The only one I have any interest in is the Captains Cabin, I honestly hate pirates (except for Redbeard of course!), so none of the figures are of any interest to me, except for some of the torsos. London Escape is not what I thought it was (which is good!) as it doesn't come with a hanging noose (unless it's on the other side of the building). I am still completly against is the Cannibal Escape, for obvious reasons.

Posted by duilim in Australia, 02 Feb 2011 06:32

Simply amazing, but probably expensive too. The Queen Anne's Revenge set is a must, and most likely will get the Black Pearl when it too is released. I really like Whitecap Bay and London Escape as well, but my budget's not gonna allow it unfortunately. Still, some really good looking sets here.

Posted by darthgiggitygoo in Australia, 02 Feb 2011 06:50

@Anonymous - I know, Aussie prices are horrendous DX

Posted by Brickman193 in Australia, 02 Feb 2011 07:03

This just made my day, but as my fellow Aussie AFOLS have noted, the pricetag will kill off most of my collection save for the smaller sets... this is a shame, as I love the PotC franchise to no end...

Posted by Zordboy in Australia, 02 Feb 2011 07:37

I really think the strength of these new sets is the minor details. The new bottles, the globe, the sword-holders, the hair and hat pieces, new minifig bodies, and all the other new little details (or old pieces in new colours).

I'm not sure I'll get any of these sets -- I'm Australian. As said above, the price will be simply out of my reach -- but picking up all those incredible new pieces? No, that's gonna be awesome.

Posted by Brickman193 in Australia, 02 Feb 2011 07:44

I'll be aiming for Isla De Muerta and the Fountain of Youth ~ cheap, relatively small, and all my favourite characters!

Posted by brixton in Canada, 02 Feb 2011 07:48

I love the first Pirates of the Caribbean film but I found most of these sets to be underwhelming. I'll start with the sets that I like and then the ones I don't.

LIKE - The Queen Anne's Revenge looks great and Aqua da Vida have some Atlantis pieces and dark green coloured pieces that you typically don't find. I might pick up the latter because it seems like a small set that will be reasonably priced and I only want the Jack Sparrow mini-figure. The other stuff might make for a good public fountain in my LEGO city but then again it may look out of place. The Mill is okay but I don't find it all that impressive. Whitecap Bay looks good. Maybe if they gave a larger 5X10 tan base plate for the building and a 5X10 blue base plate as water it would improve the way the set looks? Not sure exactly.

DISLIKE - I don't like the London Escape set at all. It just doesn't look good to me at all. Maybe Isla De Muerta should have a bit more to it. It looks like a handful of tan pieces slapped together. The Captain's Cabin seems like a very bare bones set and doesn't look much like a cabin. It does have the bone piece though which is good. Finally, I am not a big fan of the Cannibal Escape. The set looks okay but I can't really pinpoint what I dislike about it.

Posted by flyguy in Australia, 02 Feb 2011 07:50

Nice of lego to release to MTV first. Un-flipping believable. The dedication you and all of us have for the product and they give it to MTV? Sure Disney had something to do with that...

Posted by TheLEGOmaniac in Denmark, 02 Feb 2011 08:23

FANTASTIC! Definitely picking up an Island set... and the Cannibal set... and the mill set... and the captain's cabin... and the London set... and the Whitecap Bay... and...

Posted by Carnigee77 in United States, 02 Feb 2011 08:24

Does anyone know if zombie jack has a normal face on the other side? Thats the set I really want, but Im not big on the zombie figure.

Posted by clone commander trainrex in United States, 02 Feb 2011 08:31

This is awesome. I never liked Pirates of trhe Caribbean but all the awesome new pieces and hairstyules are getting me excited. 2011 will be a great year

PS-I love the new water parts and the new girl hair looks great

UPDATE-I just looked at them again and I am really loving the new globe.

Posted by Farmer_John in United States, 02 Feb 2011 08:32

At least I have time to figure out how I'm going to afford all of them...they look awesome!

Posted by darthgiggitygoo in Australia, 02 Feb 2011 08:32

Im so glad that the London escape set Inn was imporved, the set looks so awesome.
I myself adore London and it is nice to see some carriages and structure :)

Posted by Delatron in United Kingdom, 02 Feb 2011 08:32

^ I read somewhere (and these photos seem to confirm that) the the Jack figs are different in each set, so they may be out to screw you for another set if you want 'normal' Jack, but judging by recent figs (Malfoy in HP, etc.) I suspect it'll be dual-sided for play purposes.

Must say there is a lot of interesting bits for a fig part hoarder like me - love the scabbards, bottles, buckets and variety of new hair and hat pieces. Will likely buy the two smaller sets - Isla De Muerta and Captains Cabin, but not seen any prices - anybody else seen any likely pricing?

Posted by Kalhiki in United States, 02 Feb 2011 08:34

Eh, never really liked licensed themes (except Star Wars). Honestly, none of these really appeal to me. Well, except for the Queen Anne. That's definitely going on my wanted list.

Posted by spency13 in United States, 02 Feb 2011 08:34

Ugh!! Cirse u lego!! I just said that the only lego products i would buy this year was the HP sets, the collectable minifigs, and maybe a small PotC set. But now that the pics for the PotC sets are out....i want them all!!!! Ugh! I better start saving!! ;)

Posted by clone commander trainrex in United States, 02 Feb 2011 08:38

Now all they have to do is incorporate some of those awesome new hairs into other themes.

Posted by Carnigee77 in United States, 02 Feb 2011 08:46

I think they need a new boat piece, the one on the Queen Anne (the back at least) looks like the same one from the 1996 Time Cruisers set.

Posted by Carnigee77 in United States, 02 Feb 2011 08:48

Sad that not all the sets include Jacks hat.

Posted by LukeSkywalker in Ireland, 02 Feb 2011 08:48

Oh my God!! The figures look absolutely amazing! I love the mermaids, and the bottles, and the little world globe, and and and..... :)

Posted by Seagull in United States, 02 Feb 2011 09:03

These are a nice start to see this morning :D... since I can't see anything with the frikkin' snow storm outside. Sucks to live by Chicago today. :(

Posted by Brickman193 in Australia, 02 Feb 2011 09:06

People are complaining that these sets are underwhelming, but in the end, it comes down to this - more pieces in a franchise theme set = More $$$

I think it's an amazing victory that LEGO got PotC in the first place, and even though I probably won't be buying all of these sets, let us just be grateful that we got CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow and his brethren!

Posted by Dodge in Canada, 02 Feb 2011 09:34

New gold bar? 1X2 tile with slanted edges... can that be right?

Look at all the new pieces in this set (http://dcp.smugmug.com/Media-Briefs/Pirates-of-The-Caribbean/15500586_CDyZJ#1167025449_J2LwZ-X3-LB)
- The scabbard on the lower left.
- Whine bottles.
- Bucket
- Window Shutter.
- Gold block in the trunk. (another shot)

Posted by Legodt in United States, 02 Feb 2011 10:02

I want the whole collection. I'm going to build the ship and captain's cabin, so I'll need 2 of those sets. Then I'll have a complete, unopened set for my collection. My kids love these sets also. I've already printed photos for them to look at.

Posted by Be-Burger in Israel, 02 Feb 2011 10:04

Beautiful... I love the wine bottles!! I can't wait till they're released... :3

Posted by Alemas in Germany, 02 Feb 2011 10:08

Sorry bluemoose, yellowcastle and Dr. Sinister, but I GOT to say this: AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!! AAAWWWEEEESSOOOOOMEEEE!!! Sorry. :) I mean, all the NEW PIECES makes you SCREAM for awesomeness! New ingott (gold bar), new sword, new hair, new bottles, new bucket, NEW SCABBARD (no more rubber bands!), new MERMAID PIECES, a BONE-BUILT CAGE... Best theme EVER for new pieces! This is MOCer heaven! LOVE IT!!!

Posted by BrickBob09 in United Kingdom, 02 Feb 2011 10:36

Wow I want them all!!! This year is going to leave a big hole in my pocket :(

Posted by joetheman in United States, 02 Feb 2011 10:44

WOW! As soon as I saw what those pictures were I literally moaned in pleasure! I want them all.

Posted by fluffycat0509 in United States, 02 Feb 2011 10:49

Thanks for the pictures, Huw. They're great. I can see that Elizabeth comes with a new hair piece. I think that Will Turner also comes with a new hair piece. The sets are better than I thought. There are still no pictures of the Black Pearl. Does anyone know what minifigures will be in the Black Pearl?

Posted by cjg in United States, 02 Feb 2011 10:55

I like the new gold bar and bucket pieces!
EDIT: Oh yeah, I love the new scabbard piece too!

Posted by TBOC in United States, 02 Feb 2011 11:15

I'm buying some of these, new gold bars, silver goblets, and minifigue hats with hair underneath? I'm certainly buying some of these.

Posted by Orange Lemons in United States, 02 Feb 2011 11:35

Truthfully, only Whitecap Bay and London Escape appeal to me. I thought Queen Anne's Revenge looked better in the preliminary pictures, but now that I see the detail, it's way over-skellified and we seem to have had more than enough skeletons from the past few years, almost every other set has one. As for the rest, they're not bad, but most if not all of the new pieces can be found in London Escape.

Posted by legolander in Philippines, 02 Feb 2011 11:37

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! =D
Though I'm not a hardcore fan of the Pirates of the Caribbean series, I definitely WANT to OWN ALL of these sets! They're just so... AMAZING! The new elements, minifigures, colour scheme... they're enough to make you drool! =p
I'm not even done collecting Harry Potter sets, and yet I already have a new licensed theme to look forward to! =D
But the big problem would be... of course... the money. =[
Licensed themes are the most expensive of the LEGO releases, and I'm afraid I could only hope of buying one set. ={
*BIG SIGH*

Do you have permission from MTV? Because I heard about someone getting a copyright notice.

Posted by Captain Blockbeard in United States, 02 Feb 2011 11:43

If MTV requires permission to use these images, you could also use ones posted directly by Disney:
http://dcp.smugmug.com/Media-Briefs/Pirates-of-The-Caribbean/15500586_CDyZJ#1167024708_oAykL
(These are also in higher resolution than the MTV pics.)
Originally, I planned to only buy the Queen Anne's Revenge and a couple of the smallest sets like Isla de Muerta, but after seeing all of the sets in such detail, I may have to buy all of them. 2011 will not be cheap year for me after all.

Posted by madforLEGO in United States, 02 Feb 2011 11:50

QUOTE: "Finally, I am not a big fan of the Cannibal Escape. The set looks okay but I can't really pinpoint what I dislike about it."
Maybe because the set is missing the crew...lol.I mean I know Lego wants to do cheaper sets, which is fine, but only 4 figs in the Cannibal escape? Seems like it is bit short considering the scene

Posted by voyanui8768 in United Kingdom, 02 Feb 2011 12:04

Yay! New mermaid legs! They look so much more natural than the old ones :D

Posted by Peter1975 in Netherlands, 02 Feb 2011 12:07

So, I wan't go to France this years holiday, instead the kids and I will built a LOT of new Lego's.
Not only these, but I also discoverd the new castle and cars sets somewhere on the net. Their also incredible.
YEP, an expensive year, but hé. blocks rock!!!

Posted by skherbeck in United States, 02 Feb 2011 12:19

I think the Cars sets could be cool, but only if the Car "Minifigs" are printed (I'm not interested in sets with no real minifigs and a bunch of stickers!) The Kingdoms sets look... underwelming.

Posted by Matthew in United Kingdom, 02 Feb 2011 12:38

I really don't care about POTC but the mill looks to be a great parts pack for building an old fashioned Church so I will have to buy that. I will also probably buy the London one and the one with mermaids.

Posted by andy8818 in United Kingdom, 02 Feb 2011 12:55

the sets all look amazing especially the guy with the shell head and the new gold bar proper gold bar edges great to see lego thinking ahead on how they can improve on parts like this from previous sets the quaility bar has been raised again by lego loved the films and i am going to buy all these sets anyway same with all the lego i buy dont care how much it costs because its pure quality and the best in the world, megabloks did pirates of the carribean and they sets lacked quality and not a patch on what lego have produced

Posted by freeze992 in United States, 02 Feb 2011 13:11

Why does the skeleton (Barbossa?) in Isla de la Muerta have Ninjago feet?

I love the scabbard piece, the buckets, and the new hair. Oh and the shell-headed dude in The Mill is awesome. "Follow the sound of my voice!" *thunk* "No, that's a tree." :P

Posted by skherbeck in United States, 02 Feb 2011 13:45

wow, at 10.99 the captain's cabin is a great deal (3 minifigs and the pieces as well), especially considering 9.99 gets you 1 ninjago minifig, a few weapons, and some cards (bleh!). Queen Anne's Revenge seems a little Pricy at 120.00, but of course I'll get it!

Meh...

4181; the new Gold is awesome, Plus the black sword holder on the man dressed in black. I also like the womens hair, because of the new color and the new design.

4182: The inside the new building it looks like a large beige pouch looks neat. The natives are a plus too.

4183: The green guy looks cool, I also like the new cloths (blue guy).

4191: A must get at least 3 to 5 of them.. you get an awesome globe, plus you get glass like see through bottles. 3 of them. this would be awesome to put together to make a bar.

4192: Love the new beard on the pirate.

4193: best new one yet, has new sword holder on new red solider has a cool little house with new bottles and a PAIL, plus new figures clothes looks awesome. will need to buy at least 3 of these if price is right.

4194: love the new mermaid tails, come with 2 of those new Pails, 1 in each boat.

4195: What is there not to love about a new ship? Yes it has skulls and dead people pats everywhere..But it is perfect for a bad guys ship... The figures are awesome..

Posted by Alemas in Germany, 02 Feb 2011 14:12

Ha, it looks like these... http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=6025 ...will make a return! :D

Posted by LukeSkywalker in Ireland, 02 Feb 2011 14:21

Thanks Huw for posting this awesome news, and thanks for those extra links Captain Blackbeard and TooMuchDew. There's something in each set that I want, it's going to be an expensive summer. So many new figure accessories and parts like the buckets and bottles... They're almost too good! The only thing I have against the range is the use of stickers (very clear in those HD pics!). Prints are so much better, they were great in the Toy Story sets. Why must you make us suffer, making us place stickers on Lego pieces ever so carefully?! It kills me when they end up looking a bit crooked! :)

The Disney press release mentions "nine exciting and versatile playsets", could the mysterious ninth set (like the ninth chevron in Stargate) be the Black Pearl perhaps, yet to be unveiled? Also, I thought I'd be able to tell for sure from the high resolution photos, but is the hairpiece for Will Turner a completely new mould, or the elf's hair with the ears coloured in?

Posted by refriedbeans in United States, 02 Feb 2011 15:05

@LukeSkywalker Will's hair is the same as the new Draco Malfoy hair but in brown.

Posted by LukeSkywalker in Ireland, 02 Feb 2011 15:07

Cool, thanks refriedbeans! :)

Posted by Huw in United Kingdom, 02 Feb 2011 15:09

@TooMuchDew, thanks for the links, I'll grab the larger images now...

Posted by carding in United Kingdom, 02 Feb 2011 15:34

That has to be one of the best looking pirate ships yet! but why show off only the back?

Posted by Captain Blockbeard in United States, 02 Feb 2011 15:49

I just saw the prices. $119.99 for Queen Anne's Revenge, which I expected to be over $100. Now, I have to decide which takes higher priority: adding another pirate ship to the fleet or finally buying a new train (Maersk) after so many years (assuming the Maersk train will probably be priced similar to QAR). Tough decision.

Posted by CapnRex101 in United Kingdom, 02 Feb 2011 15:52

These are great! All of those new pieces are absolutely spectacular (especially the scabbard).

Posted by Ravenxl7 in United States, 02 Feb 2011 15:59

Definitely some nice looking sets. Though the only two I think I'll get are the Fountain of Youth and Captain's Cabin sets. The CC set has some really nice looking pieces in it. Especially the globe and the model ships in bottles. Though there is one thing about the Fountain of Youth set that's confusing me. Wasn't it supposed to be Captain Jack, Black Beard, and Barbosa in that set? Jack and Black Beard are clearly there, but the third minifigure doesn't really look all that much like Barbosa. The peg leg can be explained as something that happens in the new movie, but the clothes he's wearing, and the gloves, make me think that this is someone else...

Posted by Juno in United States, 02 Feb 2011 16:10

I love these new sets! I want them all!! I must say that I like Queen Anna's Revenge the best. I hope they get ictures for the Black Pearl soon. I also hope I have enough money to get all of them!

Posted by Juno in United States, 02 Feb 2011 16:11

Captain Blockbeard, Yeah, I know what you mean. I really want to get some of the new Harbor stuff when it comes out, but I also want this stuff!

Posted by Brickmeister1138 in United States, 02 Feb 2011 16:18

Globe. Gold Bar. Captain Blackbeard. Bottles. AWESOME!!!
These sets look epic. I want them all (except for the cannibal set, maybe)

Posted by refriedbeans in United States, 02 Feb 2011 16:48

I want so many different themes this year Cars, Atlantis, PotC, Kingdoms, Hero Factory, Ninjago, Harry Potter. It's to much!!!

THESE ARE SO COOL! I can't wait.

Posted by Zacherano in United States, 02 Feb 2011 17:36

Wow! These look amazingly good. I was disappointed by the prelims, but all the sets have such alluring design qualities... a certain rare beauty to almost all of them I think. Thanks for posting these here!

Posted by spency13 in United States, 02 Feb 2011 17:53

@skipper1011, my b-days in may too!! I hope i get one of these!!!

Posted by Ypres in Canada, 02 Feb 2011 18:07

I got to see these sets right before I went to school... I spent so much time looking at them I almost left too late and missed the bus! There was so much 'Wow-factor' to these sets I had to run upstairs and wake my older sister up and tell her to see the new pictures. All I can say is "Well done Lego, because you're going to make a lot of money for the effort you put into these sets!"

@voyanui8768: Mermaid legs? More natural? lol

Posted by Greyface in United States, 02 Feb 2011 21:00

Not bad, but I don't care. I won't buy any... I hope this happens with HP!

Posted by Odeinoichus in Canada, 02 Feb 2011 21:06

I too am dissapointed that they have not released a LEGO PotC set with Davy Jones, but then again unlike POP I suspect this Theme may last for longer than a year (considering they have plans to release two more movies after the current one.) So maybe next year as filler this Theme will continue with three or four new sets, and one of those might not be something of a Fortuitous Circumstance indeed. (Flying Dutchman I'm looking at you.)

My question is this, will the Black Pearl include Pintel and Regetti or will we have to wait for those too? And why is Skeleton Barbossa not wearing his clothes? I mean Barbosa was wearing his clothes when he changed into his skeletal form in the light of the moon just as Jack did. (Kind of dissapointing that Skeleton Jack doesn't have a Skeleton Torso print, it looks like flesh on him... Which is highly unusual.)

I had plans to use certain funds to pick up the large POP sets and Kingdoms sets in April, but now I'm thinking I'll have to put the kaibosh on those plans unless there's a massive discount on Quest Against Time and Battle of Alamamut at least, because I refuse to let these Pirates sets slip through my fingers. I'm even going to try and save up some cash between now and then so I can get as many of them as possible, I vow that this year I will complete a Theme and that Theme I aim to complete shall be... PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN!

Yo Ho, Yo Ho a pirates life for me, Savvy?

Posted by spency13 in United States, 02 Feb 2011 21:10

@greyface, totally!! HP better be this awesome, too!!!! I bet that later on though, they'll make an exclusive PotC set: the Flying Dutchman.

Posted by legomaniac in United States, 02 Feb 2011 21:55

Looks like a lot of new parts like the 2x2 column pieces with the ridges and looks like a chrome-gold bar in the 4181 set.

Posted by jackmcar99 in United States, 02 Feb 2011 21:57

I want the bottles with the ship on it and the globe and the picture of the pirate ship and the bucket and the grey hair slicked back on the man coming out of the carriage

Posted by iabstract in United States, 02 Feb 2011 23:38

Loving the new globe. The ship is pretty awesome as well.

Posted by JaseTJ in United States, 02 Feb 2011 23:58

I want each set for the following reasons, and I'll list my estimated price as well)

4181: Isla De La Muerta -$10-15
-Figs (Two of Barbossa's hat & scabbard, Elizabeth's hair
-Lots of gold (New gold bar piece as well as some coins)
-Rowboat (I still haven't managed to get one)

4182: The Cannibal Escape -$20
-Figs (Will, Creepy Jack, and two Cannibals. 'Nough said.)
-Tan/Dark Tan elements (Including the new bag)
-Parrot (Don't have any of these either...)
-Bone Cage

4183: The Mill -$30-40
-Figs (Davy Jones's minion dude, Norrington, Will and Jack)
-Fun looking build
-This was one of the best scenes in the movie (Imo)

4191: The Captain's Cabin -$7-10
-Figs (Jack, though he looks exactly the same as in The Mill, two random baddies, quite a few weapons)
-Pieces in general

4192: Fountain of Youth -$20-30
-Figs (Blackbeard, with weird looking beard, hat, and sword, Scared Jack, and one other... Barbossa I thought I saw somewhere once?, and a random skelleton)
-Pieces (Water, Dark Green, Atlantis columns/keyholes)

4193: The London Escape -$40-50
-Figs (Jack, with hat, Gibbs!, two soldiers, and random cart driver, which includes three tricorner hats!)
-Horses (Including a brown one, which I've wanted for quite a while)
-Lots of pieces (gold bar, new shutter, bottles, bucket, and there may be some fish in the burning cart)

4194: Whitecap Bay -$50-70
-Figs (Mermaids, new brunette hair?, Jack, and three random pirates of some kind, good amount of weapons)
-Pieces (Rowboats, buckets)
-Another fun looking build

4195: Queen Anne's Revenge -$80-100
-Figs (Jack, Blackbeard, and a bunch of random pirates including a girl and lots of weapons)
-The Ship (What more do I need to say? its not like you can see much of it anyways..)

Sigh.. unfortunately LEGO will probably go for the higher end of my prices, but either way four or five sets will probably be from ten to thirty dollars, which is good for such a great line.

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 03 Feb 2011 06:18

Huw said "It's strange how LEGO operate, isn't it. One week these are confidential and nobody's allowed to photograph or talk about them, the next they are spashed all over the internet..."

I think this is because of the licensing relationship between Disney & LEGO ... Disney retained the public 'announcement rights' for this theme, not LEGO; if LEGO had allowed people to take photos & publish them at Toy Fair UK they would have been in breach of the license & Disney would have been "very unhappy indeed". As it is, this announcement through MTV was part of Disney's marketing plan. I doubt LEGO had much say in it.

Am i the only one that realizes that those tan dudes are zombies?! Yeah, the tan one in whitecap bay, the two in the CC, and like, three of them in the QAR set are all zombies!!

Posted by cjg in United States, 03 Feb 2011 11:09

It's strange how Megabloks use to have the license for POTC, I'm glad the LEGO does now though. Mega does have Thomas the Tank Engine and Spiderman now though.

@refriedbeans. The slicked back hair is not malfoy, it's series 4 figs werewolf hair. http://http://www.1000steine.com/brickset/images/8804-14.jpg

Posted by BobaFett2 in United States, 03 Feb 2011 12:40

Yeah.

Posted by BobaFett2 in United States, 03 Feb 2011 12:41

I agree with Bluemoose

Posted by Captain Blockbeard in United States, 03 Feb 2011 12:50

@lemaskdemasque - Actually, the Series 4 Wolfman's hair looks more like a recolored Elf hairpiece. (The high res image of the Wolfman has what appears to be the Elf's ears recolored brown on the sides.)

Posted by herolegoman in United Kingdom, 03 Feb 2011 14:00

these look so cool a must have and might be rare

Posted by cjg in United States, 03 Feb 2011 14:39

@Blockbeard and lemaskdemasque: Yes, I think it is the same hairpiece as the Elf.

Posted by Berrybrick in United States, 03 Feb 2011 15:08

About Will's hairpiece-Since the elf and wolfman both have ears molded on, I think it is probably the Karate Master/Madam Hooch's hair piece.

Posted by BrickBob Studpants in Switzerland, 03 Feb 2011 15:16

It's a new hairpiece actually, in one pic of the videogame you can see that the piece includes a ponytail ;)

This looks so awsome!! I can't wait t get these! I for sure will be getting Isla De Muerta. Do you think Jacks face will be double-sided (happy-scared) like Dastan was? Anyway these stes look absolutley cool!

Posted by cjg in United States, 03 Feb 2011 16:31

I meant the Wolfman's hair is the same as the Elf's.

Posted by jonbuddy in United States, 03 Feb 2011 16:36

I. WANT. NOW. And where is the elusive Black Pearl? Oh, no, it's like the first movie! It's not there! :O

EDIT: @bluemoose, In what possible way could Disney be connected to MTV? One's leaned towards kids/young teens and one's for mostly adults and older teens (as far as I know).

Posted by LukeSkywalker in Ireland, 03 Feb 2011 17:03

Wow, so Will's hair is a brand new mould, and cooler than I even imagined - it's got a little ponytail! Thanks for that link @BrickBobStudpants! :)

Posted by skipper1011 in United States, 03 Feb 2011 19:30

@ spency13 cool. I will pray that I get one ;D

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 03 Feb 2011 19:31

@jonbuddy - I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. Disney owns the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise; they created the concept, they funded the films, they are the distributor. They get to decide what's done with it, including all the merchandise & how it's marketed. They decided to launch the toy promotion through MTV, who show a lot of film-related programs on their channels, as well as other youth-related stuff.

Oh, and has been said loads of times already, the Black Pearl set is coming out much later in the year; it'll be on the shelf in the run up to Christmas.

Posted by spency13 in United States, 03 Feb 2011 23:51

Awesome! Must have the new ponytail hair!!!

Posted by Plastic_Nurak_80 in Italy, 04 Feb 2011 08:04

I'm not a PotC fan, but it's sure that these new sets are a thousand times better than those rubbish crap produced by the 'enemy'.

Posted by TheLEGOmaniac in Denmark, 04 Feb 2011 08:32

Oh...! Need to start saving up even more. I still need 5 Pharaoh's Quest sets, City of Atlantis, Diagon Alley... along with these sets and a bunch of the new summer sets (specifically the 3 new Harry Potter sets)... ALOT of money.

Posted by Brickmatic in United States, 04 Feb 2011 14:08

Well, one thing is for sure. LEGO did a much better job with this brand than Megablocks ever did. I mean, the sets are fantastic. It's not just new parts and minifigs that make it so good. The actual sets designs themselves are very well put together. Well played, LEGO.

Posted by Trawler in United Kingdom, 05 Feb 2011 08:05

All these sets are going to be too much to miss out on. I'll start saving now.

Posted by fluffycat0509 in United States, 05 Feb 2011 08:32

Buying all 8 sets would cost about $351.42.

Posted by The Fallen69 in Canada, 05 Feb 2011 09:43

the only ones that have me really excited are the Queen Anne's Revenge and The Black Pearl, if only we knew what the Pearl looked like

When I first heard about the LEGO PotC series I was overjoyed! I remember how it all started at the Brickfair in September 2010. Some of the people who run Classic pirates.com went and took pics of a lego Jack Sparrow. Then after Brickfair speculation began over if LEGO was planing a PotC series. Then finnaly LEGO announced that it was true. Thus LEGO PotC was born! When pics of the sets came I almost died! I would have to say that LEGO did some good planning with the series release date being in the same month same week as PotC's release.

Posted by lemaskdemasque in United Kingdom, 05 Feb 2011 10:38

despite being amazing sets, I might just buy the magnets for some sets. I think there will be three sets of magnets like batman:
1.) Jack Sparrow, Elizabeth Swann and Will Turner.
2.) Black Beard, Barbossa, Barbossa Skeleton
3.) Angelica, Zombie, Zombie(2)

Posted by skherbeck in United States, 05 Feb 2011 11:32

magnets, shmagnets. I'm boycotting glued magnets.

Posted by cjg in United States, 05 Feb 2011 11:40

^Me too! I hope they get rid of the glued ones soon...

Ok, my predictions came true: We got "The Cannibal Escape" which I knew for sure the moment Jack appeared on that camel. We also got "The Mill", which I was pretty sure of as well. Then there's "Isla De La Muerta", that one was in my "potential-set list", but not something I was absolutely sure of like the others. I'm excited about the sets from "On Stranger Tides" as well, especially "The London Escape", but there was, of course, no way I could predict those. I was certain that we would be getting a "Black Pearl" as well, but, except for the inclusion of the ship itself and captain Jack Sparrow, what will it contain? Will it be a "Curse of the Black Pearl" edition, with Barbossa and his skeletal mates? Will it be plain and simply Jack and the crew? That would explain the low minifigure count in "The Cannibal Escape", as the crew were being saved for "The Black Pearl"... I've got my hopes up for a "Dead Man's Chest" edition, as that would be a great way of including the Kraken-attack. I don't seem to remember much of "At World's End", but I don't think there's any iconic incident involving "The Black Pearl" alone in that film, so I think it will be one of the previously mentioned.

If "Pirates of the Carribean" follows the Indiana Jones-model, we'll get a new line next year, including mostly sets from the original films. "The Black Pearl" will serve as the in-between set, keeping us contempt, while waiting for the next batch of sets... Hopefully the upcoming release will keep the line from dying out, like Indiana Jones did and it might become as big as Star Wars, at least to a certain degree. And now, my predictions for the summer of 2012:

The BIG ONE: "The Flying Dutchman", unless they're saving that for later. It could also be one of the East India Trading Company ships, perhaps "The Dauntless" under attack in "The Curse of the Black Pearl". The latter would include Norrington, Weatherby Swan, Mullroy, Murtogg and most of the cursed crew of the Black Pearl.

The 10.99$ one: "Jack's Arrival at Port Royal": Including Jack Sparrow, Mullroy and Murtogg, a pier and Jack's sinking boat.

A Slightly Larger One(than the 10.99$): Probably something from "On Stranger Tides"...

The Middle-Sized One: Perhaps Sao Feng's ship, not the one I want the most, but they're probably going to include at least one set from "At World's End". It could also be Tia Dalma's home in the swamp.

The Second Largest One:If the Kraken is not included in "The Black Pearl", this could be a set called "Kraken Attack", including Will Turner on the trading ship that's attacked by the Kraken.

These are, of course guesses, but I think some of them are rather probable. If the line goes on, we might see the classic duel between Jack and Will at the blacksmith, the attack on Port Royal, Elizabeth and Jack on the deserted island from "Curse of the Black Pearl" or perhaps Shipwreck Cove, from "At World's End".

Posted by Peter1975 in Netherlands, 05 Feb 2011 14:32

@ SapmiSatan; I truelley hope you'll be right about "The Flying Dutchman" which of course will includes the pipeorgan and the dead's man chest and some cool figures. And another ship for the soldiers would be nice. Not forget the harbor, where it all started in the first movie. Think I need a bigger attic by then.. .. :)

Posted by lemaskdemasque in United Kingdom, 06 Feb 2011 04:37

@skherbeck You can dissolve the glue in water!!! But it has to be at a certain degree. If you're going to do it, read up on it first. There are specific steps.

Posted by BrickManBrick in United States, 06 Feb 2011 18:42

These sets look amazing! I can't wait for them to come out! Also, does anyone know when they are coming out?

Posted by bluemoose in United Kingdom, 06 Feb 2011 19:27

BrickManBrick said "does anyone know when they are coming out".
Yes. LEGO have said 'May' for most of the sets (May 20th is when the new movie is released); the 'Black Pearl' set will be out around November (which is when I'm guessing the 4th movie will be out on DVD/BluRay, just in time for Christmas).

Posted by Farmer_John in United States, 07 Feb 2011 23:20

Boats, baby, boats!

Queen Anne and the Black Pearl are definitely on my list. Toss in the Imperial Flagship and there's a war in the making! Sweet!!!!

Posted by fluffycat0509 in United States, 08 Feb 2011 12:12

I wonder if there will be more POTC sets in 2012. If there are, I hope they could make new minifigures/characters.
