The Flo's Cafe would be worth the buy, simply to hijack the VW bus parts and make an actual Kombi for my city...

I want to get the new millennium falcon when it comes out. Does anyone see any differences with this set and the previous falcon that would make this set any less of a value?

Posted by Phantom in United Kingdom, 08 Feb 2011 14:02

Huw, considering you've seen the Millenium Falcon up close could you please tell me if the interior of the falcon is large and detailed or just a small ammount of space with lots of bomb compartments and all. Thanks

Posted by MinifigureMan in United Kingdom, 08 Feb 2011 14:05

These are awesome! I like the SW and HP stuff a lot!

Posted by LeiaR2D2 in United States, 08 Feb 2011 14:06

SO COOL! I want the Falcon!!! :) Leia looks different like a new hairpiece (?) and obviously a new head. And Luke's hair looks different. To me it looks better than that "long" hair. I can't really tell though! >:( I hope there will be close-up pics SOON! :)
That kingdoms set with all the animals look awesome! I want that too!!! :)
THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE PICTURES!!!!!

the cars and marina ones look good

Posted by Doctor Leg O'Brick in United Kingdom, 08 Feb 2011 14:19

For city i think i will buy the harbor sets, at the right price. I was thinking of buy 6+ tan baseplates plus three blue ones of Bricklink, seeing the harbor makes me even more want them baseplates. @LeiaR2D2 have a look at Eurobricks, they have close up pictures of most of the star wars figures.

Posted by durins in United States, 08 Feb 2011 14:49

Excellent! I want the Falcon, time to start saving up for it. The Hoth set is what I'm looking forward to the most, so naturally it's taking the longest to get a sneak :^)

Posted by natro220 in United States, 08 Feb 2011 14:51

Battle of Hogwarts is a bit disappointing...I was expecting so much more...oh well. New MF looks nice, and the new castle sets do too. Marina looks ok...anyone seen the new seaport/harbor?

Posted by Alemas in Germany, 08 Feb 2011 14:54

Brick-built Cars cars (:P)... nice! Phew, no single-piece cars... that was my main worry! Hm, "Discuss!"? :) That's something Eurobricks would say... :) Are you hinting at a forum? :)

Posted by Alemas in Germany, 08 Feb 2011 15:00

Hm, curious: After the end of Bionicle, look at all these good-looking sets! Any theories?

Posted by natro220 in United States, 08 Feb 2011 15:04

It appears Lego is continuing to improve upon a lot of sets they've already kind of released (Sith Infiltrator, Knight Bus & the MF for example) within the very profitable Licensed lines...I don't think it has to do with Bionicle, just Lego realizing what people really want. While these sets tend to cost more, if people are willing to pay for them, they are going to make them.

Posted by Ravenxl7 in United States, 08 Feb 2011 15:12

The Battle for Hogwarts set looks good, and I'll definitely be getting it, but I'm disappointed by the inclusion of Lucious, as his minifigure was a big factor in me buying the Freeing Dobby set. Though it is really nice to see a new Nevile and a new Lupin, and a Sprout minifigure. Harry will probably be in muggle clothing for the actual set (this is preliminary packaging after all), and I imagine Lupin will be different, and Neville will probably have a different expression, if not a second face too.

I'm really looking forward to the other two sets, so hopefully it isn't too long till we get pictures of them too. I'm hoping the Knight Bus set has Hedwig, a new take on the grim, and the shrunken head as a minifig head. I'm really hoping that the Forbidden Forest set has Voldemort and Hagrid in addition to the Harry and Narcissa Minifigures. Especially since Voldemort isn't in the Battle for Hogwarts set, and it would be epic to be able to get a Hagrid in a cheaper set.

Posted by PaulTR in United States, 08 Feb 2011 15:26

Lot of great looking sets coming our way, though not really blow your mind sort of stuff. The Podracer set looks great, and the new blue clone minifigs look nice as well. The Alien Conquest stuff looks kinda simple, but I like its retro-vibe. I'm really excited about the Millenium Falcon set, because I don't have one, although I have all the minifigure albeit in older styles. I want to see the inside soooooo bad! If I can scrounge up enough money, I might get it for my graduation. Besides that, the other sets look pretty good. Thanks for posting these pics!

Posted by freeze992 in United States, 08 Feb 2011 16:03

I'm really looking forward to the Heroica sub-theme - I've always thought a Lego RPG would be interesting. Minifig-scale RPG sets would be nice, but they would probably be (much) more expensive.

Posted by surfboy100 in United States, 08 Feb 2011 16:04

Must get star wars, maresk train, and city sets!!

Posted by Orange Lemons in United States, 08 Feb 2011 16:17

City, Kingdoms, and Alien Conquest look great! The one thing I'm wondering that I'm suprised hasn't come up yet is: How much are most of these going to cost?

Posted by crazyawesomeyeah in United States, 08 Feb 2011 16:27

@ orange lemons-well, i guess the mill raid is about $60 USD, and the alien UFO is probably gonna b #50 USD. city i dont no about

Posted by cbowers in United States, 08 Feb 2011 17:09

awww city fail...too many big pieces...it had so much potential. Castle looks awesome. Cars look pretty good and way better than expected. Maersk train line...um yes please.

Posted by CapnRex101 in United Kingdom, 08 Feb 2011 17:39

I love the look of the Millennium Falcon, much like that of 2004, which I have already. This one could definitely be worth a look. The Sith Nightspeeder doesn't look great, but for the Savage Opress figure it is probably worth it, I love the Kingdoms sets (especially the Mill Raid, gotta love those new animals).

I also quite like the marina and that speedboat, looks good.

Posted by phaser blast in Canada, 08 Feb 2011 17:40

need star wars sets . euro bricks also has a video of the alien conquest

Posted by Zwing in United Kingdom, 08 Feb 2011 17:44

Does anyone know the prices of the three summer harry potter sets?

Posted by Skodyna in Czech Republic, 08 Feb 2011 17:44

Um, don't get me wrong, I was looking forward the SW sets, but now I have to say they are pretty poor. Except for the republic frigate (which is a re-edition anyway) it is all a big disappointment for me. If there weren't so many new cool minifigs, those sets would be all rubbish. Lets see - the new millennium is basically the older one, the system of building is same and the details should be better, but it seems to me, overall it looks worse. And please someone tell me, why are those podracers so SMALL? I would gladly pay double the price for properly big ones, but these seem like those ones from the SW bucket. And the infiltrator is also no better than the older one, especially when you can see on the box, that only upper side of the nose is detailed, I'm sure the rear side will be plain. And the sith speeder and Ewoks are not interesting enough to be bought, so this year my collection will expand only thanks to the fact I missed the old Rep. frigate. Anyway, thanks for the photos.

Posted by Murdoch17 in United States, 08 Feb 2011 18:00

I REALLY want Flo's V-8 Cafe! it's perfect for my town, if I modify it to be city sized with similar 1950's pumps. Mabye my 1960's Volkswagen Micro Bus will visit it?

BTW: Here is my orginal basis for that Micro Bus. http://cache.lego.com/eng/downloads/club/clubcodes/rockband.pdf It's an official design, just have to EXTREMLEY modify the rear. Also, if you build it in LDD, the front doesn't fit, but it does in real life. Trust me!)

Posted by Seagull in United States, 08 Feb 2011 18:01

The all look pretty cool to me. Podracers, Sith Infiltrator, Ewok Attack, and the Battle for Hogwarts are in my future. :)

Posted by legomaniac in United States, 08 Feb 2011 18:27

The most exciting thing today. :D
I love the creator and technic sets. Especially the yellow car, light house, and Unimog are #1 on my buy list now.

Posted by The Fallen69 in Canada, 08 Feb 2011 18:55

yes, the Millennium Falcon, looks amazing, even better then the 2004 one (which i own, so it will be good to compare the two,) the only thing is, Savage Opress needs a new lightsaber handle instead of a normal one

Posted by alexfig8 in United States, 08 Feb 2011 19:27

I'm pretty happy about the way Battle of Hogwarts looks. I hope the Knight Bus looks the way it does in the Lego Harry Potter DS game. I also think that the marina is pretty cool, but I was hoping for one more similar to the old set Sail and Fly Marina, but I like it still. I think it was cool that they put in the equipment rental and Cafe.

Posted by crazyawesomeyeah in United States, 08 Feb 2011 20:08

i needz that podracers.....

Posted by Zacherano in United States, 08 Feb 2011 20:13

These sets all look awesome!

Mostly remakes though... the only ones with which I am really disappointed are the Sith Infiltrator and Republic Frigate, because seriously, the designs are not fun-looking and not original compared to previous models. Sure, we get a remake of the Sith Infiltrator just four years later, but why does it have to look all big and ugly just for the purpose of adding more minifigures? I'm sure it will make minifig collectors happy though....

Then there's the Republic Frigate. For the figures, it's almost worth the exorbitant price and unexciting design ... it better have a lot of new features and pieces, because it looks to me way too much like the Tantive IV (I understand that it is its predecessor, so maybe this wasn't Lego's finest design choice moment).

Posted by duilim in Australia, 08 Feb 2011 20:13

great...... initially, I wasn't interested in any of the "Cars" sets, but after seeing Flo's V8 Cafe, that's it, another set I've got to have. On top of all the Star Wars, HP, PotC and Ninjago sets I'm after, it looks like I'm going to need a second mortage..........

Posted by Jarod98 in United Kingdom, 08 Feb 2011 21:12

Here are my thoughts on the Star Wars sets:

Ewok Attack: Simply amazing, I'm so glad they stuck with the same Ewok outline and created new figs, it's nice to be able to get another speeder and Scout Trooper. Now I can recreate more of Episode VI! It does seem a little bit over-priced though ($24.99).

Sith Nightspeeder: Awesome! I'm glad I'll finally be able to get Asajj Ventress, plus Savage Opress! I think Anakins has a new design, too! The horns on Savage's head aren't as great as I thought they would be, but at least it's not flat. The Nightspeeder looks really cool too. $24.99 is a fair price for this great set!

Millennium Falcon: BIG! It look really nice, great size, awsome figs (I love Luke's new Hairstyle). The size seems perfect, I love the look as well. The price even seems great (probably since the most recent Millennium Falcon was $499.99!) $139.99 acutally seems low! So far I want all these sets... A LOT!

Anakin's and Sebulba's Podracers: Great! Now I can get Podracers, it's been a long time since we've had one. The price though... $79.99! I thought it would be $49.99! The figs are all new and great though. I may get this one.

Republic Frigate: Commander Wolfe!! This set is definetly going to be off the charts! All the figs are great; all are new but Yoda (and you can never have enough Yodas). $119.99 is a really great price for all you get. A must have!

Sith Infiltrator: Big. In fact, a little too big. I think Lego out-did themselves in sizing this; it's great trust me. I just don't know about the size. The figs are great though, I love the new Qui-Gon. The Naboo Guard look great too, so does Padme. Darth Maul looks stunning, I love how he was redesigned the horns are the only thing I wish were better. Other than that this is a $49.99 must have for all Star Wars fans.

Posted by halcyon305 in United States, 08 Feb 2011 21:49

I love that the new mill is a continuation of the medieval market village style. Cant get enough of those detailed little houses...

Posted by Seagull in United States, 08 Feb 2011 23:10

The Mill is fantastic!! The Sith Infiltrator isn't oversized at all actually, but more minifig scale than any of the other previous versions!

Posted by Ypres in Canada, 08 Feb 2011 23:32

I think the pictures are nice... but nothing great. I'm very sad that the Cars 2 sets won't seat minifigures. I thought it would've been nice to have the cars made slightly minifig scale and come with optional sticker eyes to cover a clear windshield. Grrrrrr! I don't really like the Cars movie and see it for the marketing junk it is, so if I ever buy a Cars 2 lego set it'll be at least 50% off. This theme is going to sell at first, then stores will want it off their shelves.

Kingdoms set looks great, so I'll happily buy it to go with my village. As for Starwars sets, nothing really pops out at me so I'll wait for sales.

Posted by Brickmeister1138 in United States, 08 Feb 2011 23:54

Seagull is right, in the Star Wars universe, the Sith Infiltrator is 26.5 meters long. The set certainly captures the look of Scimitar better than any of the other versions. The rest of the new sets are also excellent. I want most of them. EXCELLENT!

Not interested in Cars though...
The villige rocks! Great new animals, buckets, and, at last, the return of the pitchfork!

Posted by starfire2 in United States, 09 Feb 2011 00:02

I like the new chickens and goats in the new kingdom set. As for the Cars sets, I am not impressed by what I have seen. I like the Star Wars pod race set and the Ewok set the most. I think I am going to wait until the big sets go on sale for an awesome price before I buy them.

Posted by 7thskrall in United States, 09 Feb 2011 00:28

Too bad there are no pics of the geonosian fighter. >:[

Posted by CharlieTheFunEngine in Australia, 09 Feb 2011 02:33

The Cars sets are astonishing! Out the five I've seen pictures of, I only want one - Flo's V8 Cafe.

That's because you get Radiator Springs McQueen and Classic Mater in it so I don't need them individually, Mack is ugly and nothing like he looks on-screen, and I don't want the Ultimate Build sets, so that only leaves Flo's that we've seen photos of...

Posted by Markey in Belgium, 09 Feb 2011 03:44

There are too many nice sets out this year, my wallet is not happy!
Love the cars sets, pharao quest and most of the technic sets.

Posted by birgoyle in Australia, 09 Feb 2011 04:57

This was the most exciting thing to happen all day... Apart from the Battle for Hogwarts, most of the other pics have been available elsewhere for months.... But nice to see some higher-def ones.

I'm extremely disappointed with the Battle for Hogwarts, it's basically a rip off of last years Hogwarts - the 2 towers are almost exactly the same design as the central tower...
And *that's* the new Viaduct? Seriously???

I expected this set to be quite literally "the battle for Hogwarts" as in Voldemort VS Harry surrounded by bodies in the new courtyard, as seen in movie stills for HP7 part 2. The minifig designs have to change before release, I mean Neville with Oliver Wood/Mutt Williams' face? What happened to the goofy face from Defense Against the Dark Arts? Sprout is almost a different coloured clone of McGonagall & Trelawney...

As for the new Star Wars sets, the minifigures save them. I am a sad minifigure collector who will buy each and every one of these sets for the minifigs. Like most ppl here I'm desperate to see the inside of the Millennium Falcon. I purchased the UCS MF because I thought it had a detailed interior... Mistake! (before my days at brickset)

I don't mean to get so down and depressed, but I remember a time where I drooled and dreamt about the new sets for days...

The only sets I'm punching the air about here are the new Kingdoms sets... Printed horses, goats, chickens, detailed figs, medieval market style buildings.... Now THAT is awesome.

Posted by Carl in New Zealand, 09 Feb 2011 05:12

all the star wars ones except for the millenium falcon are awesome: i think that millenium falcons are way past they redesign by date

Posted by legobob in United States, 09 Feb 2011 06:53

WOW most of the star wars are great and the city and Alien conquest are awesome . . .I must be in heaven

Posted by dmm32552 in United States, 09 Feb 2011 08:35

Does the new podracer set mean that people will stop buying/selling that crappy old Watto minifig for $80+ a pop on the secondary market? Thank goodness.

I also expected Battle for Hogwarts to be a bigger set. I hope the Forest set has the giant ogre -- Hagrid's half-brother...I forget his name.

Posted by gardenom in United States, 09 Feb 2011 09:06

definately getting the kingdgom set and the millenium falcon. the ewok battle set is cute, too.

Sigh. Another Falcon? Is it part of the licensing with Lucas that they have to do a MF every other year or something?

Posted by BrickBob09 in United Kingdom, 09 Feb 2011 11:14

WOW! I love all the new sets, especially the new Star Wars figs! Now would be a great time to win the lottery :)

Posted by billyaplin77 in United Kingdom, 09 Feb 2011 11:42

Does anyone know if the Battle for Hogwarts set is designed to be built on to the main Hogwarts set?

Posted by BrickBob09 in United Kingdom, 09 Feb 2011 12:43

I just found a great picture of the new SW minifigures (keep going down until you find it):
http://toysnbricks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=2022&start=20#p16749
(the only one i don't like is Ki-Adi-Mundi's head, I think a 1 piece mould would have been better)

Posted by LukeSkywalker in Ireland, 09 Feb 2011 13:01

I just want Luke Skywalker for the new hair, but I have that Falcon already. :) I wonder how long we'll have to wait for him to appear like that in a different set?

Posted by Berrybrick in United States, 09 Feb 2011 15:19

Anybody else see the box on the left, you can just make out what is probably Voldemort with a black cloak and white hand, so I guess we're getting him in the forest!

billyaplin77- I don't know if it has the hinges included, but if you look at the side you can see a technic brick with two holes where the hinges included in 4842 (and possibly this set) could fit into.

UPDATE:

BrickBob 09- I have seen those pictures already (and yes, Mundi's head extension is horrible) . . .

. . .and I just noticed somthing on Padme, her face. Many of you have pointed out that it looks just like Hermione's, well I found a picture of her in The Deathly Hallows, and her face looks pretty similarly to that (she just had smaller eyes I think)! Just add Hermione's original hair, and you have a book accurate one. . . .

UPDATE 2: I have been viewing the Battle for Hogwarts image, and I can see a smaller hinge near Neville.

Posted by Greyface in United States, 09 Feb 2011 16:24

OMG! HP images at last! I can't wait to see the Knight Bus and Forbidden Forest (HUW, PLEASE PRETTY PLEASE FIND SOME!!!) but this satisfies me for now. Sure, the viaduct leaves a bit to be desired, but I am glad about the expansion of the castle with TWO new tours full of who knows what incredible stuff!!! I am also happy about the new Astronomy Tower (the balcony Lupin is standing on) as the Astronomy Tower in the latest Hogwarts is not film-accurate. It is now, though!

The minifigs are incredible! I will finally have Professor Sprout, Lupin, Neville, and the added bonus of Gregory Goyle! Muy fantastico! However, the inclusion of the dementor and Lucius puzzles me: the dementor because we really don't need another (ah well, though) and Lucius because he appears as a very, very supporting character in the Battle of Hogwarts - and because he's been in as many sets as Ron and Hermione in the new theme now! However, perhaps his inclusion is because of his role in the film: an interview surfaced saying that Lucius had an alternate ending to his story in the films, but it was unclear whether they decided to go with this or with the ending he has in the books.

Please find more HP!!!

Posted by Berrybrick in United States, 09 Feb 2011 16:32

^Still isn't completly film accurate, still not very tall, actually, it may be shorter than in 4842.^

Posted by harrypotter2010 in United States, 09 Feb 2011 17:08

Thanks for the links, Huw. Saw the Battle Of Hogwarts on EB last night & just drolled, lol. Can't wait!!!

Posted by Greyface in United States, 09 Feb 2011 17:13

@Berrybrick - the height may not be completely film-accurate, but at least the balcony is (more-so than the Astronomy Tower in Hogwarts).

Posted by 7thskrall in United States, 09 Feb 2011 18:17

Where are the pictures of the geonosian fighter?

Posted by Tyler1o in United States, 09 Feb 2011 22:21

Does anyone know how many seats the cockpit of the new Millennium Falcon has?

Posted by jamesster in United States, 09 Feb 2011 23:18

The marina reminds me of the LEGO Island games. Ah, nostalgia. The lighthouse looks good too.

Posted by Berrybrick in United States, 10 Feb 2011 06:06

Greyface-Film accuracy doesn't matter to me, book accuracy in the films does.

Posted by legolander in Philippines, 10 Feb 2011 10:08

As expected, there isn't anything much to rave about the new Hogwarts set. However, I'd like to have it for spare castle parts, particularly the towers. I don't think there'll be unique accessories from this one though, since the main theme of the set is war. I wish they made the depiction bigger; something like a 500-piece set, containing nothing but walls, towers, broken buildings, witches, wizards, giants, centaurs, acromantulas, dementors, house elves, and thestrals fighting it all out for Harry Potter. =D

I think this will be the set I'll save up for as it seems very unlikely that I'll ever get to buy the fourth Hogwarts Castle model. At least with this one, I can expand and add detail to my existing Hogwarts sets. This should be a good addition to my HP collection. =D

About must-haves and must-must-haves

I guess I have to divide my planning into "must-haves" and "must-must-haves"
Must-haves: Harbour, Maersk train, 2010 trains, Minifig series, Heroica
Must-must-haves: Kingdoms, HP, Pirates of the Caribbean, Pharao, Creator-houses, V8-Cafe, Ninjago-Sun-Temple - IF I even can do so much!

So glad, that I am not so much into space-stuff . . .

Gaaah - we are losing against TLG - they simply produce more than anyone can buy, build, store :-(
TLG, SLOW DOWN! That load of excellent news would suffice for 2 happy years (then volumes per set would rise and you could lower prices B-)!

Posted by fleecie in Australia, 10 Feb 2011 17:52

I agree. Running out of space in the house! How do you all store your collections? Would rather they slow down and build sturdier and unique sets. A bit too much repetition for my liking.
I wish Lego would do Neuschwanstein Castle!!!!

Posted by TooMuchLEGO in United States, 11 Feb 2011 08:53

If I don't get Battle for Hogwarts I might be destroyed by my HP figures because I was too stubborn to buy it. So yup, that's a must buy for me...

Posted by Greyface in United States, 11 Feb 2011 16:03

The only LEGO sets I buy these days are HP...

Posted by LukeSkywalker in Ireland, 11 Feb 2011 16:15

The new superhero versions of the SpongeBob and Patrick figures in Heroic Heroes of the Deep make buying that set worth it, imo, they look brilliant! :)

Posted by brixton in Canada, 11 Feb 2011 16:18

LEGO keeps coming out with all these sets I want. Tough decisions on which ones to get and which ones I will have to force myself to pass up on.

Posted by legoDad42 in United States, 11 Feb 2011 22:37

I'm late to this party (been traveling) but finally got to check all those new sets.
I hope I don't accross as a snob but I'm not too crazy about the new Star Wars sets. The new minifigs look great to me but the ships themselves...I don't know...seem, ordinary...but maybe once built on display I can make a better judgement at my local shop.
I DO like the Alien Conquest kits though. I'm gonna' get the 'saucer', 'command vehicle' and that 'tri-pod'-like lookin' one too. Lotta' fun!
I also am diggin' SpongeBob and Patrick as Mermaid Man and Barnicle Boy. I always LOVED those episodes the most...EVIL...EVILLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.....;)
I wish though they made actual Mermaid Man, Barnicle Boy and all of the Super Aquantences...plus Villains! Who wouldn't want a Man-Ray fig. or the infamous...Dirty Bubble....

what about the hoth base and naboo starfighter legos? why aren't there any pictures of them?

Posted by Berrybrick in United States, 13 Feb 2011 07:20

I believe that we can assume that the Hoth Base is going to be a store exclusive. The Naboo Starfighter may be, but we have pictures of the figures already.

^ That's my take on it too; the Hoth Base is most likely a TRU exclusive.
