Well this is upsetting as I already bought 7 of the PotC sets yesterday

Posted by vith in Belgium, 17 Apr 2011 05:30

These aren't coming to the UK?

Posted by benjadude11 in United States, 17 Apr 2011 07:20

eeeexcellent.

Posted by K-nut in United States, 17 Apr 2011 07:29

zaxter2001, same thing! except I didn't buy 7.

Posted by JamesBenjamin in United States, 17 Apr 2011 07:41

When does the sale end, Saturday?

Posted by the_real_indy in United States, 17 Apr 2011 07:42

Score!

Do you think it was an oversight that they did not exclude POTC? They usually exclude brand new themes, right?

So now I will definitely buy 6 sets and save about $60... And then spend the cash I save on Alien Conquest, etc...

Thanx!! =)

Posted by Weakbro in United States, 17 Apr 2011 07:42

This is great, I was about to spend about 150 dollars the other day. Now I can save some money!

Posted by Jarod98 in United Kingdom, 17 Apr 2011 08:23

Just in time for my birthday, better tell people I want cash this year. As the_real_indy said now I have more money to spend on Alien Conquest. PotC here I come!

@zaxter2001 - Yeah, it is. Sorry!

@the_real_indy - Yeah, I'm surprised they didn't exclude PotC. Infact the first thing I thought when I saw the headline was "Great, now they're gonna exclude PotC!"

Posted by TheKingOfBuilding in United Kingdom, 17 Apr 2011 08:31

@zaxter2001: You must learn to use patience ;-)

Posted by Jarod98 in United Kingdom, 17 Apr 2011 09:00

@TheKingOfBuilding - A lot of people like to buy stuff on the first day it came out, so it may not be patience that's needed, but the urge to buy something on the day it comes out gone.

Posted by squall15 in United States, 17 Apr 2011 09:45

I have been to 3 TRU in NJ and none had the POTC sets in stock. ??

Posted by AZFIREWOLF in United States, 17 Apr 2011 10:18

Just to let you guys know that the bogo50 online is only 1 per order. So your best bet is to go into the store to buy or have the store place the online purchase for you so that you don't have to pay shipping.

Posted by kbsig106 in United States, 17 Apr 2011 10:20

Good deal - but the Maximum 1 discount per order causes you to incur double shipping when you split your order. Is this a in store deal also?

The new Space Moon Buggy #3365 is eligible for the 50% discount of $2.49 - have not seen in stores yet.

Posted by AZFIREWOLF in United States, 17 Apr 2011 10:41

No in the store there is no shipping cost because it is an in store purchase. You have to do it up at the customer service desk.
Also not sure if it helps anyone, but Fred Meyers has extended their coupon from last week. 10% off the toy department. THAT MEANS LEGO!!!!!!!!

Posted by natro220 in United States, 17 Apr 2011 11:09

@zaxter2001 - I used to work at TRU...just bring you receipt in and ask for a price adjustment. They'll do it for up to 2 weeks after your purchase.

Posted by LegoCity578 in United States, 17 Apr 2011 11:32

Well that's a bummer, I just purchased the 7641 City Corner at Target yesterday for $53.99 :(

Posted by its grant in Canada, 17 Apr 2011 12:17

anyone seen potc sets in canada yet

Posted by The Reviewer in United States, 17 Apr 2011 12:25

Yay! I might buy some PotC sets since they are on sale and are not excluded.

Posted by durins in United States, 17 Apr 2011 12:42

Now I see why PotC wasn't out at the two TRUs I went to yesterday. They're holding out on me!

Posted by surfboy100 in United States, 17 Apr 2011 12:43

I feel a disturbance in the Force... It is my Toys r us with the new POTC sets! and Just in time for my birthday too :)

Posted by zaxter2001 in United States, 17 Apr 2011 13:00

Now i'm debating whether to head back to TRU to get the price adjust. If i would only get the sale price on one item it might not be worth the 45 minute drive. :(

Posted by madforLEGO in United States, 17 Apr 2011 13:11

The only sucky thing was I wanted 2 of the Grand Emporium but they only had 9 in stock online, so it did not take long for those to go, I think they only had a handful of Emerald Nights and Fire Brigades too (although I forgot to check for the imperial flagship before it was too late).
It turns out I had to close my browser and reopen it to see the BOGO, once I did the BOGO showed up but all the sets I wanted were gone (Stupid Firefox 4)
So I wound up buying two of the 'bay' sets for POTC and saved some money there..
They do have the trains on sale but I already have plenty of those...

Posted by madforLEGO in United States, 17 Apr 2011 13:13

The POTC sets are hit and miss at TRU's.. I went to one TRU with not even a scrap of a POTC box.. Then I went to another and they had all the sets, I was going to pick up a Whitecap bay but then I turned around and spotted the Queen Anne's revenge (only one though so no hope of BOGO50.. for me anyway)

Posted by starfire2 in United States, 17 Apr 2011 14:08

@zaxter2001: they will price adjust your whole receipt.

Posted by Ypres in Canada, 17 Apr 2011 14:09

What a bad day to be on the computer... in CANADA! Bloody hell, you Americans get every chance to buy Lego! BOGO50% OFF on Pirates is enough to make me cry. I was up half the night talking to my sister about the new lego sets only to find they're being "given" away in the States. Darn! Bloody online TRU is one cold women, her shipping is just horrible. Who on earth treats their countrymen so?! No worries, I'll just cry myself to sleep... yes it's only 11 AM where I live.

Posted by VeeDubGuy83 in United States, 17 Apr 2011 14:26

No PoTC at my local TRU either... kinda sucks, would like to get in on the BOGO 50% plus my 10% employee discount...

Posted by legos in United States, 17 Apr 2011 14:43

This is terrible! I am starting to collect Potter sets and I was bumbed! As for Star Wars, YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't like that theme.

Posted by Niallskie in United States, 17 Apr 2011 15:24

Sucks... I just hit two TRU here in Portland, Oregon then a couple of Targets and Fred Meyer and this is still no signs of PoTC. Availed of the buy 1 take 50% off promo of Target to an already marked down price of $17 for both 7915 Imperial V-Wing Starfighter and 2260 Ice Dragon Attack, its never too early to save up toys for Christmas :D

Posted by aquafreak125 in United Kingdom, 17 Apr 2011 15:54

Wow! You Americans get the sets early as well as having an awesome offer on them, brilliant! Hopefully we British will also get a deal, though it may just end up saving us five pence or so...

Posted by Ha876 in United States, 17 Apr 2011 15:56

cool

Posted by SupaSteela17 in United States, 17 Apr 2011 16:00

they had two PotC sets at my TRU. my dad got one and i got some other stuff it was the 4191 captains cabin

Posted by Jayr17 in United States, 17 Apr 2011 16:09

I note on the web site that they don't even list any of the Ships in PotC. I also note that TRU is showing the new Castle sets (all except the Mill).

Posted by yellowcastle in United States, 17 Apr 2011 16:37

TRU online is already listing several Marina, Space, Kingdoms, and Alien Conquest sets, though none are in stock. Looks like it won't be long, though.

Posted by AZFIREWOLF in United States, 17 Apr 2011 17:00

Scored the Queen Anne and then a couple of other sets. The store near me hot hit and hit hard. So happy that they had the shop and ship up and running. 4 sets are on their way.

Posted by pandax in United States, 17 Apr 2011 17:18

Just get back from TRU, they have none of the POTC sets in store. Go to customer service and the staff (Surprisingly, she is very nice and helpful) let me make 3 separate orders with free shipping+BOGO 50%! Finally get 5 POTC sets and 1 City set. Good deal!

Posted by Captain Blockbeard in United States, 17 Apr 2011 17:42

This is perfect timing since I didn't find any PotC sets locally last week and hoped to buy them this upcoming week. Also, I'm on the hunt for the remaining Series 4 figures I need, and this sale should include those as well.

Posted by 1265 in United States, 17 Apr 2011 19:41

Picked up 7 POTC sets. To take advantage of the BOGO 50%.....bought 2 of each.

Posted by Anomaly24 in United States, 17 Apr 2011 20:19

On Thursday, I stopped at my local TRU (Manassas, VA) and the Lego rep was there. She said PotC aand other sets were due May 1st. I mentioned that I had seen a flyer online for PoTC on April 16th, and she didn't know about that. (!)

Friday, I called the Lego brand store in Woodbridge; the manager said April 16th was a misprint, the sets were due on April 18th, and he was expecting all sets. I then check TRU's website, and ordered one each of the PotC sets.

This morning, I'm reading all of these notices about BOGO. I called TRU, and they knocked 50% off the second most-expensive item, saying it was only valid for one item per purchase.

I then logged in, hunted around, and found that many more sets are listed as IN STOCK at TRU online! Not sure of the MSRP, but they don't look to me like they have the usual TRU markup (I could be wrong, though.) They had some of each of these themes:

- Alien Conquest
- Kingdoms (Blacksmith shop, etc.)
- City Harbor
- The space launch sets

Free shipping over $100, so I broke my order up into 3 parts for maximum discount. I figure a 15% savings overall.

Posted by madforLEGO in United States, 17 Apr 2011 21:33

Wow, the new Marina is only 50? That's good (as it only looks worth about $50)
Although no village invasion set (Wonder if that is a Lego exclusive)

Also, if anyone wants Super cars the TRU.com has them again at BOGO50 prices....
they also appear to have a ton of them as well.

Posted by teal93mr2 in United States, 17 Apr 2011 21:48

I just looked a the web site and they definitely have the POTC in stock but they do not have any of the other new sets in stock.

Posted by Nightshroud99 in Canada, 17 Apr 2011 23:01

SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT!!!!! :(

POTC SETS ARE NOW BEING SOLD AT LEGO.COM

Posted by squall15 in United States, 18 Apr 2011 12:49

i just went back to TRU in NJ and there was a Lego Rep there. I asked her about the POTC sets and she said they are not scheduled to hit TRU retail until early next week. I told her that I knew some people in other states that had purchased the sets at TRU, but she said that must have been a mistake. So to all of you that were able to het these sets on the current promo, Congrats!!

Posted by stoneboys in United States, 18 Apr 2011 19:10

I was going to get some POTC sets but after I saw the prices I think I will find better deals and uses for my money.

Posted by The Reviewer in United States, 18 Apr 2011 19:53

I just went to my local TRU today, and no POTC sets exept Queen ann's Revenge (Sigh) :(

Posted by Vader X in United States, 19 Apr 2011 23:51

Yesterday i hit up three TRU on my road trip of 65 miles, All three had shelf tags for POTC and all but The mill and London escape were sold out (Guess the eBayer's beat me on Sunday or early Monday morning), So i scored a London Escape along with another Kingdoms Prison Tower YAY! I also grabbed my two sets of series four minis at BOGO. Sweet score, but long day of bag feeling haha. The Series four figs are a little tuffer for me to feel out than series three was, but, the dots seemed to be way more noticeable and accurate.

P.S. All three stores still had a box or two of untouched series 3 so i scored four more elves also at BOGO :) (UTAH)

Posted by cinrose in United States, 20 Apr 2011 18:57

Watch out for TRU!!! Went in today to buy 2 Queen Anne's Revenge and I realized that they increased the price to $132.99 after I had left the store. I went back in to check the price and they would not honor the $119.99 sticker that was on the shelf. I didn't have time to question this policy with the store manager, but I already have a complaint in with the TRU website.

Posted by skherbeck in United States, 20 Apr 2011 21:20

I also went to TRU today to find all the POTC sets marked up 10%! Wish I had purchased more than 2 sets when I was in there last Sunday... oh well, the BOGO 50% sale is still better then paying full price!
